Mason Mount

Poor game today and I’m Masons biggest fan but didn’t look right today, maybe already in World Cup mode and after seeing 2 of his mates get injured recently doesn’t want to go the same way.

He has been poor all season long though; 2 goals & 2 assists in 11 starts is very poor. Seems to only turn up against struggling teams, and shouldn’t be a starter.

Wouldn't be near City, Liverpool, Tottenham or Arsenal's starting front three if we're being honest

Whatever his overall form he always gives his all but today was different.

From the first minute he was to pally pally with Ben White for my liking

Yeah that's the sad reality. He quite literally wouldn't start at either of those clubs, including United given Bruno and Eriksen's form.

The fact he's a nailed on starter because hE's pRoPeR cHeLS, and doesn't have any incentive to perform better knowing he will still get selected is one of the several reasons we are where we are.

@Munkworthare you working today or do you have time to defend Mason?

i wonder why Potter is all about rotation and rest yet he keeps playing Mason as he drives himself in to the ground one game at a time.

I’m a big sleepy boy today. This has been covered in an earlier plot point.

And this guy apparently wants Reece James type wages. No way.

Mason Mount vs Arsenal.

78 minutes played.

38 touches.

61% passing accuracy.

Lost possession 16 times.

It's just becoming standard now.

Become so bad even Munk does not defend him now.

Southgate would be stupid to take him over Maddison to the world cup.

There is no cohesion between him, Havertz, Aubameyang and Sterling.

He and Haverts look the worst cause they at least try, Aubameyang is on sleep mode unless someone creates him an easy tap-in from inside the box.

I think at this point having both Havertz and Mount is redundant and it hurts the team. Has to be one or the other.

I also think they are both, quite simply put, average footballers.

I don't think much differently about Mount as I do about Sterling at this point.

Both go 90 a week and neither are close to deserving it. Week after week we get nothing from them in the run of play. It just isn't working at all.

This might be controversial but I care not. I am convinced Mount is not an attacker. He has been played out of position all season. He just doesn't have the quality to be in the front 3-4. Can't score a goal and most his assists come on set pieces.

Agreed, Im taken Mount over Havertz though.

I suspect in the medium term there is room for only one of Mount, Havertz, Gallagher and Chukwuemeka in the starting XI ...

How can that give you a starting position. Or in the words of the much missed @HazardousChoice how sh*t are our other forward players if this level of performance still gets a starting position

Try Pulisic fan pages, or maybe RAWK. Probably find good old Haz there.

My feeling is some of the players are saving themselves for the WC, not saying Mount is definite one but haven't seen his aggression and energy for a while now. The sooner the WC and transfer window comes the better, we are in no shape to play football as a team.

Could be, and would be nice to have someone with a spine to say "OK world cup means more to you? On the transfer list you go".
