Permanent deal according to FabrizoRomano

Gutted to see him go.

But it hasn't worked out and it's probably for the best.  It does make us weaker though and we have to sign someone now.

I'll miss Timo and fully expect him to start banging in the goals at his next club which is more than I can say for some of the players he leaves behind here.

Went up in my estimation even higher now, the guy has to be taking a massive wage cut for this to happen, fair play to him.. imagine the amount of extra hair transplants Drinkwater could get with 275k pw for 3+ years.

he wants to play in the World Cup

Figures I've heard are £30m/€35m which would mean we take roughly a £15m/€15m loss which all in all isn't so bad. Who knows we may slip in a cheeky add ons or future resale bonus. Wish him all the best if he was anything like he is on fifa in real life he probably would have lived up to the billing. All in all not suited to the Prem style hopefully one day he can take the step back up to an elite team and actually thrive.

Wouldn't be surprised though if Klopp or Nagelsmann come in for him in a couple of seasons. He's still technically not hit his prime yet and has actually regressed across the past 2 seasons. In a couple years time he may be where he should be now.

The most important thing for me is if he goes we need a replacement striker. Broja and Havertz will not be enough to challenge the teams above us perhaps even to stay above the teams below us from last season. I'd like to think though we wouldn't let Lukaku, Werner and potentially Ziyech go without a replacement.

I’ve always liked him, he’s been involved at relevant times and he had a crucial role in our CL win. His press and energy were good to see, and his misses have been memorable. Plus he had the best song of any current player! Good luck and I wish him all the best back in Germany.

Wonder what we get for him. Should be £30m given his track record in Germany.

Is the price I am expecting too. If we sell CHO as well I would hope we can get 25mill for him. Add Alonso 8.5mill fee and we would have covered Cucurellas signing lol.

Sad to see him go. Yes he was sh*t but I’ve always had hope he’d rediscover his leipzig form and sadly it never happened. Definitely the best move for both parties, best of luck Timo.

Replace the Timo part with Kai and the same would be fair. Shame Timo has not helped Kai pack his bags and gone with him.

Didn't pan out as I'd hoped but he at least walked away with a CL medal. Goodbye Werner. Best of luck!

Hope he still has that mentality when he first signed for us

matter of time now. Wonder if it’s permanent or on loan

I wished all our bad players acted like Timo. Gave his all, barely badmouthed the club or anyone else, won us a trophy, understands that he's not good, gets himself transferred to a team with reduced wages.

£25m apparently. Not too bad I suppose.

Wouldn't sell him for that at all.

He's at worst the 4th best attacking player in our front three.

Can't think of any long term replacement we can get without considerable outlay.

Poor actually.  I thought it was meant to be £30m. We always pay a little extra when we buy and always get a little less when we sell

30m+ euros is decent enough for a striker that doesn't want to be here and the club don't really want to keep.

It would be better if the deal lessens the obstacles for us to sign Gvardiol for example

The one signing that should have worked out, Timo had it all on paper, the work rate, the pace and the will to score but after missing so many chances he lost it mentally and never recovered. Best decision he'll make is to change the environment because he can still find his killer instinct back.

Another goal machine broken by us. Add him to the list....

Only the player has himself to blame, he's the one missing the opportunities to score, let's not forget he's missed quite a few
