That moment against Juventus when Silva heads the ball out when Mendy came to collect.  5 seconds later Mendy has to save a shot.  He jumps to his feet ready to yell at the defence for getting in his way, only to remember it was Silva.  As such, he just looks as not even Mendy tells off Silva.

I mean he won the Euro, something that Mendy simply can't win so he's the best? I just need to remind myself that Pele has 0 golden balls, that's how much fair they have been.

That's a hell of a reach. I thought Mendy deserved the award too, but to say he didn't win just because he is black is silly. You usually find that when there is an international tournament like the Euro's or World Cup, whoever is playing for the winning team will get one of the big awards. I don't think it should be that way, especially because I think club football is on a totally different level in terms of quality, but that is just how it is.

Is it really such a stretch where Fifa or Uefa are concerned? Cause they take the issue of racism so seriously, made really big efforts there...however when a club run European super league pops up and threatens their money they lose their minds over it.

Their president is pretty high up in Uefa, vice president maybe. Funny what big money gets you. 

Mind you they have to do something for them I guess as that entity (cause they are not a football club) never wins anything of note cause they are soulless. Why Messi had to sell his before he joined.

I'm a huge fan of Mendy, but I don't think this is a decision totally without justification.

Donnarumma was given the Player of the Tournament award at the Euros, he was the competition's outstanding goalkeeper by miles, and Italy won both the semi and final via penalty shoout-out (in which he saved three penalties).

We've often seen the degree of significance attributed to international tournaments in the Ballon D'Or (Cannavaro, Modrić, Messi this year); I think this is another example of that.

Pretty much. This year’s ballon was just another branding/ whitewashing exercise for the Qataris. You have to admit it’s good PR for Qatar 22.

Pulled off a few more good saves tonight, the most important one when he had to come off his line to stop a 1v1 situation. 

I genuinely think he is the best goalkeeper in the world.

yes he gives confidence - but he needs to be better with his kicking at times puts us in trouble.

Not enjoying these lack of clean sheets. Our chances of beating put 15 goal conceded league total is not looking great.

Been great since he's come here, but God do I worry every time he has the ball at his feet.
