Chelsea v Man City (PL) Sun 3rd Jan 2021 16:30 GMT

Featured Replies

Look, man city are a good, well oiled machine. With or without some of their better players they have quality up top to punish teams. Our defence has given them too much space to work in and they've punished us. From us not conceding for ages to then having 2/3/4 goals put past us in the last couple weeks, it's frustrating af.

Why because you don’t like hearing the truth ? Look at our form since he came into the team ? If you don’t see the direct correlation then you are even dumber then you sound . Oh yeah he was a little lucky last season ....

Probably the worst take so far, our form is because of Pulisic? Be quiet you melon.

no you just sound like a idiot

Our players were sent out to go all out suicide attack, we managed to surprise them for the first 10 minutes but then they settled and took control of the game. This is a totally naive and amateur game plan and after 3-0 heads dropped and it could get worse.

We're playing 3 defensive center mids, and none that have attacking skills, there is no support or creativity for the forwards.

We haven't had that for a while. Since Fabregas left, we have missed that kind of creativity.

I’m hoping to see Jody Morris will come out for the second half pretending he’s Kovacic and add a bit of sh*thousery to our midfield.

Joking aside we do need a wisely or Morris out there right now. Someone willing for a scrap, to get a bit of intensity and to set an example.

I liked the lineup other than Werner being played up front. He carries zero threat at all, right now. Give him a mental break, play him against Morecambe.

Otherwise, there is zero confidence in this team. Pulisic is the only proactive player and he is over playing to our detriment.  Can't blame him for trying to do it all by himself, but everything is so "off."

Second half should see Abraham come on for Werner.  Other than that, I see no suitable options. I would love to have a fit Barkley and Lofts Cheek in midfield just to get something going forward.

They seem to lack defensive skills as well. After the first 10 minutes it's all Man City having >70% possession at times.

No defending either

Cut that bullsh*t, the only player they're missing that improves them is Aguero and he's been missing for ages. They are better all over the pitch both with and without the ball, they are clinical with their passing and shooting and that is all against a team in poor form and totally devoid of confidence.

Kyle Walker? Ederson? Jesus? Laporte Really

Last season I defended Lampard a lot because there were so many personnel issues in our squad in key areas, I'll always maintain Lampard did an excellent job last season. However this lineup today should at worst be comfortably in the top four and the more this carries on the more we get cut adrift.

I was worried about our performances at the start of the season but I put it down to the Covid situation and everyone else getting strange result's but since December things have been looking beyond hopeless, i genuinely don't look at a single fixture at the minute and feel confident we can win, not even Morecombe.

I don't disagree with how serious and concerning our poor form is, what annoys me is that some seem desperate to stick the boot into Frank. He deserves time to sort this out, he's making some mistakes definitely but it's time for the players to step up and take responsibility, the manager isn't responsible for players making basic errors constantly.

Anybody who thinks Lampard needs the season is absolutely deluded. He has absolutely no clue what to do tactically in this game. If we replace him now with a tuchel or allegri theres a chance we can mount a title challenge, if it gets the season we won’t get top 4. So I know a lot of you feel loyalty to Frank, as I do too, but we’ve got to be realistic, the man is totally out of his depth

I think Lampard gets the season for me. We aren't going to get relegated and we aren't going to qualify for the champions league. Changing the manager won't affect that. No one can convince me otherwise.

He has until the end of the season for me to show that his team can play together, that he has a plan. If he can convince the board of that, then he gets his final year. If he can't, then he's had 2 full seasons and a big transfer window.

In the mean time, the board need to start sounding out nagelsman.

This board doesn't have patience and acts ruthlessly. They sacked our CL- winning manager and brought in the FSW. Lamps is on borrowed time, I think.

I can’t see Roman sacking Lampard - not unless the players revolt AVB style. I don’t think that will happen. I think Frank willl get the season but only because it’s him. Anyone else would have been sacked.

Not the reason we are seeing this. And neither is the ridiculous claim that City cheated their way to a break.

This is totally of our own making. Dont look for excuses.

Yes

but still a bad referee can influence the mode of the game

The pressing is just shocking. I saw it in the very first minute. Several of our players will "press" one player on the ball and then he just passes it to another in acres of space.

It's like watching 11 David Luiz's out there. Nobody is containing, they are just charging at the guy with the ball without thinking about the gaps they are creating.

Got to disagree, if we keep playing like this and keep losing games he has to go. We can always get a caretaker in to salvage the season, it's worked before with Grant, Rafa, Hiddink (part 1) and Di Matteo and those seasons ended well. I would rather that than see us play like absolute pish from here on out and finish about 16th with the way this sh*te is going.
