Chelsea v Man Utd (PL) Sun 28th Feb 2021 16:30 GMT

Well you can be sure this one won't be on MOTD first tonight.

I was on a terrible stream kept bombing and then taking 30 secs to refresh so not too much from me.

See Tommy T and Ole seems to be arguing over the CHO was it a penalty decision, for me not though can see why it was debatable.

First half after the first 10 minutes thought Utd had the edge and at one point they had corner after corner yet we stood firm.

We also had a few passes going astray where the man on the ball passed only to find his intended player had already moved.

There was also an incident between Rudiger and McTominay, haven't a clue what happened though with Rudiger's hand over McTominay's mouth at one stage was glad the ref was not involved.

Second half we were better, Ziyech even working De Gea. Thought Ziyech was poor in the first yet much better in the second.

Noticed Rudiger at times going deep into the opposition's half to tackle which surprised me yet seemed to work.

James played well in the second after coming on for the injured CHO.

Thought Kante played well today too.

Not the best for the neutral and very tactical yet think this is a point earned rather than two lost.

Only reason though was that Hazard magic. We are clearly lacking that now. Sarriball with no Hazard is just.....................................DULL.

The only reason we got top 3 is Sarri, that's why it's called Sarriball. We had Hazard the season before and we finished 5th so mind the gap kid!

Again, as with Tuchel’s matches, it comes down to a chance being converted for us to win.

It was important that we didn’t lose today but it puts pressure on thursdays game now. We really should have won vs Southampton

A point gained or 2 points lost, not sure.

9 points behind Man Utd would of probably been too much to claw back although a win would of put us right in the mix.

Our attack is so bad though, need to be more clinical and ambitious if we want to break into the top 4.

I just don't feel confident that we're going consistently win games with how we're playing.

We're not creating enough clear cut chances.

We keep having 60%+ possession but I think teams are happy to let us have the ball because we do so little with it.

It's so rare to see our attacking player do anything that doesn't look routine. There aren't enough risks being taken.

I think we need to do better for sure, that's been a complaint for a while now with our attack. But lets hold our horses a bit here, it's not like we're playing Acrington Stanley, United are a good side, surprisingly.

I never had great confidence going into this game to begin with, I think a point will do but granted we do have to start winning more big games.

Agreed. We shouldn't only be focused on Leicester either. Other teams are like to rally in the closing stages of the season and we know what happened to Leicester last time. We should be more focused on getting as many points as possible, probably 70 or more, to improve our chances of top 4. Right now that probably means more than 2 points a game, which means we can afford to draw games like today perhaps, but not if we drop points in games like Southampton away. If we beat Liverpool on Thursday we not only pick up an invaluable 3 points but we also put some distance between ourselves and Liverpool as rivals for top 4. If we lose on the other hand they will possibly leapfrog us (depending on their result today)

I wonder what would happen if we got a few beers down the lads before kick off...

Never fails to make my footballing mind better and my opinion counts for more (in my mind)

Is there any rule saying you have to be completely sober?

He's been pretty poor of late to be fair.

Not great but I would rather he was on the bench today than not.

What's the point of having a forward who is so fast his nickname is " turbo" and then playing balls to feet when he is static ?

we are far too  ponderous and cautious , opposition are set and waiting by the time we reach their box.The

more ambition, use our pace with early balls instead of all the short passing , going nowhere .

Come on you BLUES !

That goes for life in general Malta. Cheers brother.

Thing is though we've Liverpool and Everton up next, the two teams immediately behind us.

Which of those games would you feel confident about winning?

Especially after the Southampton result it's imperative to get positive results from today and the next two games but the lack of cutting edge we have in the final third it's hard to feel confident of doing that.

Fingers crossed I'm proved wrong.

I don't know why they didn't give the pen though, if I had to argue against it I would say that perhaps it's because Greenwood's arm made contact with CHO's so you could say that his arm was being pushed into that position.

Tbf I think you're overly negative, and that's coming from me.

We have become one the most boring Chelsea teams I have ever seen. Sorry, but this is just sh*t to watch. We are basically back to Sarri ball, waiting for those ahead of us to f**k up so we can somehow fluke a top 4 finish. Then when things don't improve next season, the coach gets sacked and we are repeating the cycle all over again. My mood would be drastically different if I could see an outcome different from this, but I just don't see it.

I don't know, every game looks like a different game lately. It would greatly help if Pulisic and Ziyech found some form, because they are two of our best attackers on paper. I can't go on past games too much becaues I don't know what to expect.

Pretty sure that was the reason it wasn't given as a penalty.
