Romelu Lukaku back to Chelsea - and gone again!

Ive seen record signings flop here over and over again, but I honestly cant believe how bizarre this situation has become. I like Lukaku as a player, always have. I was happy for him to return, since Haaland wasnt possible.

When the 1st part of the interview broke, i thought it was a bit of a storm in a tea cup, but the more that comes out, and seeing Tuchel's response, it looks more and more damning.

I dont think he has a genuine complaint about game time, he was injured for a long time, and eased back in. It just seems he is trying to engineer a move away, but im not sure how practical that is given his price tag.

Im backing Tuchel 100%, Lukaku will get a chance at some sort of redemption between now and the end the season, but he needs to be dropped, for TT to maintain authority, and if i was Marina, i would be looking at solutions for the summer.

Long way back for Lukaku now, even if he wants to be a success here.

What kind of arsehole signs for a club record fee and tries to engineer a move away half way through his first season half of which he was injured or sick? Big ignorant child, what about some professionalism?

That bubble has burst. Transfer tax and owners like Evergrande on the verge of collapse.

Hmm... We are stuck then!! I hope Kane leaves for City and Conte demands Levy to get his favourite hitman to Spurs..

I wont mind a swap with Harry although unlikely that we trade with spuds..

I know mate, its completely bizarre. Especially when things haven't been a disaster on the pitch, definitely couldve gone better, but its still early days. Even more bizarre when its a club you supposedly support, and have been trying to get back to.

I dont get it.

It's one of my issues with the board. They have spent so much money on players who end up failing.

... and who we then cannot sell due to the ridiculous wage packages that have been "negotiated" and are unmatchable at other clubs.

Playing for a club as well set up and as attractive as Chelsea shouldn't require having to dangle such huge salary increases at players. There is no "skill" in offering terms like that. If that is the only player motivation to come and play for us, then they shouldn't even be on the target list.

The interview has potentially devalued his transfer fee considerably, not many clubs will be able to afford such a large fee. Plus his apparent love for Inter has in effect removed other clubs in Italy from the race.

As pissed as Tuchel probably is it's probably nothing compared to how angry Roman & Marina is right now because of what you wrote here.

You don't want to be on the latter two's bad side and he's somehow managed to do so in addition to manager, players, supporters and probably the tea-lady as well. What a dumbass.

And for that I expect that Roman & Marina are going to want to get rid of him in a hurry. If we can.

I personally don’t think he’s devalued his transfer value by much. There’s a lack of perceived “quality” strikers around and as such players like Lukaku and Morata are consistently getting big moves around the top clubs in Europe.

Why didn't the dick take a pay cut to stay in Italy. If he loved it there so much, he could have done it. Here was the salary list at Inter:

He's borderline unsellable after these comments.

He's said he only wants to go to Inter, who don't want or need him, so why would any other club take the chance on buying him, assuming they could even afford the fee and wages ?

This bloke is going to make Bogarde, Drinkwater and Bakayoko look like club legends in comparison ... I think we are stuck with him.

Strange situation, he’s played well and Scored in his last games, and now TT has had to reprimand the dolt, leaving him out could harm the team, oh to be a manager, and now left wondering what Chelsea’s hierarchy now do…

Rom may want to go back to Inter but they cannot afford him and they don't likely want him anyways.

Even of they did they would need to exchange a couple of players or sell some players to make it work. No way Roman will let him go back to Inter on the cheap, he would sooner cause him more problems and eat the cost like he did with Conte.

He still can't keep his big mouth shut.

He's texted his old mate Tim Howard this, which he then broadcasted on American television.

“I can’t say too much. The situation is hot. I have another meeting on Monday. After that, I can say more”

This is not going to end well.

Though my mate, "not Mike" @Dean called me on it I stand by TT is the one who pays for this. I predict he is sacked before seasons end. TT desperately needs the team to perform well and win today.

I won't be surprised if Lukaku never plays for Chelsea again.

Either that, or Tuchel ends up getting fired before we can get rid of Lukaku and he somehow reinvents himself under a new manager. But given what we know of Tuchel from the past, I honestly think that the relationship between him and Lukaku is beyond repair now.

No way we can shift an expensive player like him that fast. TT gone on Monday?

I doubt we can afford to sack him, but TT might walk, as he has done before, if he is not backed by the Board.

I suppose they might not back him, as a face-saving exercise to try and recover their decision to sign Lukaku in the first place, and especially seeing as they now have JT waiting in the wings to placate the fan base as a temporary coach to end of season !

What a mess.

Personally I hope TT wins the day.

Lukaku clearly not backing down either.

He's making this worse every hour right now.

Anyone who seriously thinks the board back Rom over Lukaku has lost their mind. If Rom wants Barca, Rm or Bayern call up Xavi and the Barca board make a swap deal for like 2-3 players forget the fee. Jokes aside we will come out of this one way or another.

Now if I had had a say.

Marina- We’re thinking of signing Lukaku.

Me - f**k off, he’s a useless c**t, slow, immobile, turning circle of Uranus ( sorry Marina no pun intended) overrated w**ker, disloyal arsehole. c**t

Marina- Ok Kev56 thank you you’ve just saved us £100,000,000 and a lot of embarrassment.

Me- Your welcome.

Standing my ground here, my friend! 🙂 I think we’ll pull through this. Title challenge may have been too much to ask for first season in charge, and I got ahead of myself . But I think TT is the real deal and will be here. While I’m at it, just for the record:

- I don’t think there is a “tradition” of player power at Chelsea as such. It’s more a coincidence - a byproduct of subpar managers. Players weren’t happy with the manager but that’s not the reason they were fired. They were fired coz not good enough.

- there’s a qualitative difference between TT and the various other managers that got the boot, and I think Roman recognises this.

I do accept that this could all change. TT could lose control and the downward spiral starts. But I’m not going there halfway into his full season in charge, when half the team is injured / unavailable and we have this Lukaku mess.
