Is it an overreaction to say that  Chalobah is England's best CB right now?

I was critical of him last season mainly because he seemed to make at least 1 bad mistake that lead to or almost lead to a goal but they seem to be leaving his game which is great.

Seriously, you can’t compare someone like Mings to Trevor.

Should definitely be on that plane.

Nope, what English CB is playing better right now? He should be going to the world cup. If Maguire can get into the England team after finally being dropped by United, then Chalobah should be a shoe in. 

The way he is playing now is the best he has played for us, he's improved a lot on the things he wasn't getting right last season. The most noticeable improvement is how he reads the game, he's not getting caught out as often from set pieces and crosses into the box. Also, when the defence is put under pressure, he's a lot more composed. 

Hopefully this is the norm for him now and not just a purple patch.

His versatility as CB/DM should make him a shoe-in as well.

Let's see if he stays in the side after the world cup and Koulibaly, James and Fofana are back or he gets forgotten about and thought of as just a back up.

Cracking player we have on our hands, and he will only benefit from playing with someone like Silva. More than enough games to go around, but I do wonder who will be first choice once Fofana is back. That is a big chunk of change to have sitting on the bench.

Silva will almost certainly need a break post World Cup and Koulibaly will need rotation. Chalobah should be the second defender name on the teamsheet after Silva.

Ben White and Stones when fit. He absolutely should be on the plane though and fighting for that starting spot.

I really hope that the club and Potter appreciate Trev and don’t look to cash in on him. If he wasn’t playing for us, I think we would be eyeing up to buy him. He’s proven that he’s a good player for us and can do the business.

I agree with those 2, but Stones is only just back from injury. Ridiculous that he hasn't been given a chance ahead of players like Maguire or Mings. Maguire hasn't been playing first team football for weeks now, and it is questionable whether he was really playing football before that 😉

One of Forfana or Saliba would have had to do it at St Ettiene but I'm not sure which one did.

If the former I guess it's an option.

Trev has done it in one game for us and was not as solid as he is in the middle or right of the back 3. It would take some learning.

Nah we haven’t tried Mendy or Bettenelli there yet.
