Tuchel got it wrong, pure and simple. Bizarre to pick out of form Pulisic and the non-pressing Ziyech for such a huge game. Lukaku was anonymous too. Biggest disappointment for me was the attitude...looked like a team afraid to lose rather than one wanting to win. Don't think City were even that great for all their dominance. Didn't create much and took a worldie from debruyne to win it. That made it all the more demoralising.

Yeah didn’t feel like a match the players were obsessed to win.

I did not expect that much from this match, surely we must be the club that has played the most matches in Europe for the past two months. I am not trying to find any excuses, but Chelsea literally have played every three days since mid November. Yes, they are pro athletes, but this is a crazy amount of matches in a very short period of time and we faced teams that have had the privilege of getting a rest through this period, something we did not benefit of.

For example this was City's only third match in 2022, one of which was (a friendly) against a fourth division club. Our's was the 5th one this year, three of which have been against Liverpool and Spurs x2.

It was a difficult match away at one of the best clubs in world football, I know we should be doing better, but this is not your typical football weekend either, we really need a rest soon.

Onwards and upwards!

Harsh but we really need to learn from the mistake of the FA Cup final last year and he ruthless with the keeper selection..

Agreed but we don't have anyone that can replace him immediately.

Kepa is a decent keeper but his level is at midtable La Liga.

Fair points. But who's in form? They are all competing to look like the most useless attacker out there. Even Mount have been sh*te for a while and had another horrific cameo for the 15 mins he hard.

I agree with every point except the worldie. It was a Kepa mistake, his positioning from long range shots is poor.

You know I don't think very highly of Kepa, but to blame him for this defeat is just way too harsh. Yes, he didn't really get the technique right, and Mendy would've probably saved that one, but nonetheless it was a good shot and you can never leave De Bruyne that open, as it always results in a goal.

Don't forget Kepa saved a certain goal in the first half. He also looked pretty confident and I wasn't shaking when he was called into action. A bright spot for me today.

Laughable that we are trying to blame Kepa when he was one of our only bright spots. De Bruyne completely bent it around Silva who was right in front of him and blocking the keepers complete view. we lost because they had all the ball and it was inevitable if we sat off the whole game eventually they would score.

Kepa helped DeBruyne by stepping to his right but it needed accuracy in shooting.

None of our players are scoring that goal. Given the same situation, we would have recycled the ball countless times only for it to end up with Thiago to start the cycle again.

He could not f**k up about 5 counter attacking chances with a sh*t touch or he could press the defender and make a nuisance of himself like Diego Costa would.

Ziyech and Pulisic were poor but the difference is they get held to account, Lukaku will get rewarded with another 90 on Tuesday.

That’s what happens when you’ve got no other striking options unfortunately.

don't get me wrong Lukaku played poorly but he’s being made a scapegoat for the utter toss that was around him

One of our unused substitutes today was our main forward when we outplayed today's opposition in the biggest club game on the planet.

Our players don't have the finesse or technique to try it anyway, it's either a tame shot or a row z destroyer from that range. We get worldies like 1 in 50 shots tho

TT virtually threw Lukaku under the bus there.. not a fan of it.. Yes lukaku didnt hold up much but where were the runners if we want to play long ball.. Kante and Kovacic were pressed deeper.. ZIyech and werner banished wide.. i am still seething and TT in my opinion was the chief culprit and had a schocker more than any of the forward players..

Unfortunately he stepped right just as de bruyne shot so he couldn't get across...you could also look at Kante losing out to De Bruyne, Kovacic not getting across to cover and none of the defenders stepping out properly to close him down as reasons the goal was scored.

also happens when every game there is a new combination.. he keeps rotating and rotating with no consistency.. our forward line plays as if they are meeting for the first time.. never in a million would you find a chelsea fan that would play that front 3 in that formation .

Yeah it’s worth remembering we are really quite impaired still. Not only do we still have major injuries in key areas, but a lot of players are underperforming, and many of those are yet to hit their prime: I’m looking at Mount and Havertz as potential positive surprises for the balance of the season. staying optimistic.

We played 11 against 11, we played on thesame football pitch, and we say Pep Guardiola and Man City are better than us. No excuse for Thomas Tuchel. I do not agree with his tactics. We have had managers before in Chelsea and we have played against top teams before. So, Tuchel out.

Sack a manager that has reached every final in every competition he has competed in, whilst taking us from 9th to 4th last season, and has us currently in 2nd this season?

Bizarre.

For God's sake, what is your business with the injuries that we have? Was it the injuries that we had that made Tuchel start Ziyech and Pulisic instead of Mount and Havertz behind Lukaku?

Was it the injuries that made Tuchel use a system that made us so blunt in attack? Instead Tuchel will set three CBs, and plays wing backs that are not effective. Since we have injuries to our wing backs, why not play another system that will make us strong in attack. Or at least play Hudson-Odoi instead of Alonso.

If he had played 4231 with Kante, Kovacic, Mount, Havertz, Ziyech and Lukaku trained and playing together, this would have been a better team.

Even if Chillwell and James were fit, I will still say that this Tuchel's system is wrong.

So it's Tuchel out.

Bizarre.

Didn't you people say thesame thing after Roberto Di Matteo won us the Champions league in 2012? So just because Tuchel won us the champions league last season, we should not do well this season?

We shall see.

Didn't see the interview but Lukaku was extremely poor today. His aerial play inexistent. One single good run with an ok finish and butchered our very first chance in the game with this hard to explain passing on Ziyech.

Sure, Pulisic was worse and so was Ziyech but Rom put himself in the window and doesn't deliver at all. Easy as that.

edit: is there actually an ignore function in this forum?
