July 24, 20223 yr We needed this humiliation we didn’t take pre season serious now we have 2 weeks left and we need to really work hard at this point nothing is lost yet i rather lose these games now so Todd and TT realise how much work we still need to do

We will be lucky to make top 6 this season, tuchel saying players aren't committed, haven't progressed etc, that's his f**king job. I agree with what you say about Tuchel and his work, but I do think that this squad is harbouring a good few players that aren’t very good, or used to be but aren’t any more. And that’s a big worry. I see an horrific season ahead on the pitch and I predict problems off the field. New owners, similar old Chelsea.
July 24, 20223 yr Pre-season: year after year a time to play bullsh*t bingo (wake-up call, transition, it's about fitness, OMG we're doomed, we need new players, *** is sh*t) I love it and I hate it. August 6 can't come soon enough. Sort of. Edited July 24, 20223 yr by Valerie
July 24, 20223 yr After jesus just waltzed into the box and easily scored, I turned it off! I'm not that concerned however TT seemingly was, The comments on players wanting to leave was curious I'm not reading much into it at all but im sick and tired of arsenal suddenly beating us whether pre season or not, We use to steam roll over a better arsenal squad! We really do need some more quality, Griezmann is possibly available, No midfield creation at all Why TT was groaning about dave and barca when we've had absolute top bins from him as a player is also concerning, As if anyone expected to sell him on for a huge profit when hes lost half a yard over the last couple seasons is also curious I'll say it again, Why we didn't bring in jesus AND sterling ill never know, Man city maybe no idea at the start of the TW/once the club was sorted with the sale, It was fairly obvious we needed to shift like 8 players out, Hopefully it will be addressed further before September and also jan otherwise we will have to hope and pray they get their act together for the real comps etc! Bu its entirely on Tuchel as he keeps picking them, he had a perfect opportunity to play players who want to be in the team, yet sent them home and picks these players that arent very good, or dont want to be here. Its literally his decisions, yet he then complains about them. Throwing the squad under the bus, complaining about poor quality etc never ever works out for a manager, its usually the beginning of the end. I have never, and will never be bothered by a pre season result, its meaningless. But i am bothered by pre season attitude and aptitude, and watching these pre season friendlies we have big problems in both, which is the managers job to control.
July 24, 20223 yr You can ignore preseason, dismiss the results and performances, but you only need to look at the end of last season and the performances individually and collectively and see the departure of Rudiger, and thats enough to conclude we’re gonna struggle to hold sixth this season. We just haven’t (been able to) do what is needed in the transfer market to pull our level up to top four shoe ins. Sterling is an embellishment player and that’s all we’ve managed.
July 24, 20223 yr I stayed up to watch that as well. We have got so much work to do if we want to make top 4 this season. Even if we had defended perfectly we still would of drawn 0-0 without looking like scoring. Tuchel really needs to address that attack quickly or we are in for another season of 1-0 defeats, 0-0 & 1-1 draws. Our average goal rate has been around 1 goal per match for a while now, that won’t be good enough for any sort of success next season. If Tuchel can increase that then you never know, but who would you confidently say is capable of hitting double figures in goals next season. I would say Mount and maybe Sterling, with the rest getting around 5 league goals each. We had a chance to address that a bit by signing Jesus but for some reason we passed that up. While I know some may say it’s only pre-season but Tuchel’s words after last night wasn’t good however you look at it.

I think Boehly will be smart enough to support the Champions League winning manager over some of the frauds who makes up our current squad. It may be painful and I would not be terribly surprised if we finish sixth this season. But I think Tuchel would stay in any case. The rebuild job is absolutely massive and it's going to take several windows to clear out the deadwood that the previous regime brought in.

Lamps did it by playing academy kids .. and in a more entertaining fashion while getting into a cup final.. so spare me the players are crazy and not good enough.. not a single player has improved under TT .. for him.being proper coach he needs to earn his stripes.. That is just ridiculous. Rudiger for one. Chilwell improved. Mount has improved. Kante's decision making. Trev has improved? Kepa stopped being calamity Jane? There's some off the top of my head.
July 24, 20223 yr the problem is we never really worked hard in this USA tour… we are just going through the motions i will back TT all the way, but it has felt like he didn't want to be in the USA and he had all these players with him he doesn't want either i hope now he's going to be ruthless in these last 2 weeks. Players who want to leave should be left out of the first team squad and train separately. We are going to have to work really hard

Swap "previous regime" with "previous manager" and we've said this every disappointing pre-season. Things will never change unless we stick with a manager for a seriously long time. If the revolving door policy continues under new ownership, we can start the pre-season threads for the next 10 years today. Hopefully the new owners aren't as trigger happy as Abramovich, but I honestly wouldn't dare to put money on it.

Well I guess its no secret that he was having a go at Dave / Alonso / Werner / Ziyech / Bats and a couple more that didn't get a run out. However, there were other comments and digs at others, if his comments continue the players will down tools in a hurry as we will see history repeating itself. He will get angrier as the season progresses and the players slowly turn off. The players will stop listening......and TT will be gone although it will be interesting how the US group handle it. Maybe TT is a different man behind the scenes...just like your Mum and Dad when you were a kid, you get fed up at being moaned at you tune them out....I think we are nearer to this stage than what we think.

And yet some clearly don't see it and are seemingly dying for Tuchel to get sacked. If that happens we are firmly back to square one. If you are prepared to support Werner, Pulisic, Ziyech, Havertz, CHO and the likes and blame the manager for their ineptitude then be my guest but you are completely wrong as far as i'm concerned. Tuchel have won three titles in his relatively short time here. He's also lost two finals by penalty shootout. And all this without bringing in any players of his own choice. Now he's been able to bring in Sterling and Koulibaly but that will be two players out of a 25 man squad he's had any input in. So basically nothing compared to the size of the squad that someone else built. How about we give the manager some fecking time to build his own squad and then judge him after that? Clearly many on here is like a kid in a candy store that want the new shiny manager toy. Well, let me guarantee you one thing and that is that, that new shiny manager is not going to win the Champions League with this side and he's not going to win three titles in his first year at the football club either.
July 24, 20223 yr I’ve lost it with this team. I am done. At least when we were not an oligarch’s plaything years ago we didn’t expect success; now we do and can’t because we have a team full of c**ts.

July 24, 20223 yr Just read TTs post match appraisal, I know it’s pre season, but now he’s played his joker early, by saying no physical and mental commitment, well against Udinese, you know what to do, start your best or first XI, if players ain’t sure of their future it’s your job to sort it, where’s our decent, Transfer guru then. What formation that is I have no idea, but Todd n Co will be nervously watching thinking wtf was that sort of performance, you coach they play PS I know it’s a meaningless factoid, Haaland scored 11 mins into his debut!

That's easily fixed: don't expect anything I think most of us just hope to see entertaining and exciting football from a squad that cares, but we've come to expect not even that, unfortunately.

One thing though @Sindre : the manager to be given time to build a squad may not be Tuchel (no, I don't know who would be right now). Is he the inspirational squad builder that's needed, does he have the tactical nous to change things around 25 minutes into a match? Is Tuchel part of the reason why some players decide not to sign for Chelsea? The answers may all be "yes", I really don't know. What we see and hear is just a tiny portion of what is going on at the club, we can't possibly know why things are in the state that they are. And obviously if the FSW had delivered the CL trophy instead of the EL trophy, no way we want him to stay for 10 years or so

July 24, 20223 yr he needs to get rid off the players who don't want to be here and let them train on their own segregate the players we are going to use from the players we want to get rid off for the next 2 weeks

We lost 4 in a row in 2010, then the real stuff starts, first six games won with a 22-2 GD. And there's also this example from further afield.

July 24, 20223 yr we obviously didn't give a sh*t about pre season, which is a bit concerning Arsenal are always good when there is no pressure we played 6 finals since arsenal played their last final, so this Florida Cup final was a big deal for them and we couldn't match their motivation & intensity Edited July 24, 20223 yr by azpi28
