July 24, 20223 yr Author Was at the game, and adding this to last week. We’ve a long way to go. This isn’t new - it is so easy to score against us. Arsenal didn’t create much but they strolled to a 4-0 win. First goal Chalobah made a great interception and passed to them. Second goal Mendy passesd to them. Third goal was a third shot, no marking. Fourth goal he had 15 yards of space. honeslty that was disgraceful. We are well short of being competitive and kidding ourselves if we think different. All the forwards and midfield were inept.
July 24, 20223 yr he looked quite beleaguered in the press conference.. exhausted and dare i say running out of ideas.. one of his responses to a question as to why chelsea have similar problems was players are the same /havent developed.. As a manager that is the last excuse i would have thought he would have experimented with a different system / different solutions.. i want to support him he is a genuinely good guy - i hope he turns this around.
July 24, 20223 yr It sounds a lot like Tuchel is digging his own grave. The performances and attitude should be down to his direct input but he's starting to lose the players by the sound of it. This is going to be a rough season, Our midfield and forwards just don't have a positive goal threat but we all saw this from last season and nothing has changed.
July 24, 20223 yr I’m not feeling positive with the season ahead. I know it’s only preseason but. The vibes seem bad, i think top 4 might be struggle. We desperately need reinforcements in certain areas
July 24, 20223 yr Tuchel press conference manner is quite alarming. Feels like conte 2.0 season already. Basically blaming transfers, board, players wanting to leave. It’s his choice to play players who aren’t going to be here - bats and co. The vibes seem seriously bad

There have been rumours Werner wants out, and I thought I read that Pulisic was not happy too. Although based on the post from USATim that may not be the case. Emerson seems like one of those perennial loanees so wouldn't be surprised if he already has a foot out the door. The problem is if course is that they have been so sh*t and are on such high wages nobody wants them on the deals that they want. Also, why do so many players want out of a side that recently won the CL and made two domestic cup finals.

Firstly TB hits the headlines dining with Barcelona. Far from there being accord Barcelona up their underhanded policy of bankrupting themselves but seeming to only go after players that we're interested in. Then the press report that TT is making personal phone calls to some of these players to give them the bigger picture. Yet despite the lip service they give him they fck off to Barcelona anyway. Pre season starts dreadfully culminating in this shoeing and whilst TT is calling out the dressing room al a Conte, a la Mourinho, Barcelona are beating Real Madrid 1-0 with one of our headline targets, Raphinha, scoring the winner. I pray I am wrong but currently I am still not moving from my prediction of 5th - 7th this season.
July 24, 20223 yr People blaming the poor squad is laughable, bring in any top players into this tedious, inept, risk free spineless style of football and it wouldn't make a sh*te of difference. We will be lucky to make top 6 this season, tuchel saying players aren't committed, haven't progressed etc, that's his f**king job.
July 24, 20223 yr Just now, mojo said: glad I didn’t stay up. what an embarrassment. and so say all of us.
July 24, 20223 yr Surprised with Tuchel's comments after the game to be honest. Some of the things he told there, it's like his responsibility. Result is not the biggest worry, the vibe of the team on the pitch is. We're not ready for the season so far.
July 24, 20223 yr Pfffffff …. Preseason friendlies I have always avoided them and try not to read too much into them. In some ways the opposite result has been as bad.
July 24, 20223 yr Only a pre-season friendly so not over concerned as a lot of players still to come in and get up to speed. But 4-0 is a bad result whatever the game and what WAS more concerning was the press conference and some of TT's comments. I hate losing to the Gooners and they seems to love playing us these days. Another bogey side first PL game of the season in less than two weeks and it;s a game we MUST win, otherwise it could be a long hard season.
July 24, 20223 yr I don't understand when fans say not to get too worried about pre-season results. I think we're kidding ourselves when saying that. I bet, if you look back over other pre-seasons, if we've had a good one, in term of results, we start the season well. Bad pre-season and we start p*** poor....
July 24, 20223 yr Let's wait for the first matches of the season, it is the perfect barometer for how things will develop further ahead. Always hate loosing against Arsenal, but this loss brings back memories from six years back. Remember Conte at the Emirates? We lost 3-0 and we looked like crap. They were 2-0 inside the first 15 minutes with Mustafi, Nacho Monreal, Coquelin, Iwobi and Walcott on the pitch... And that was late September, already round 6. And Conte ripped into the team after the match and switched to a back three. We all know what happened afterwards 🙂 If this result and Tuchel's rant brings the same scenario then it's fine by me. Anyway, pre season results should be taken with a pinch of salt. Remember Van Gaal's perfect pre season with United, they looked like they'd stay unbeaten for years to come.

July 24, 20223 yr The squad is in an absolute state. Never been worse in the Roman era and unless we pull off several miracles before the market close we will struggle big-time for Top 4. Tuchel were right in having a massive go at them post-match. Some of them are clearly perfectly happy to pick up their massive salary (thanks Marina) while being absolutely sh*te and unmotivated and it's killing us. Thankfully it's pre-season still but things are looking a bit ominous for the season.
July 24, 20223 yr 7 hours ago, Scott said: They are eating Conner and J5 alive. Arsenal have targeted J5 in all our recent games, we all know why. If TT has any real intention of switching to a back four then Jorginho can't be anywhere near the starting lineup.
July 24, 20223 yr 7 hours ago, Munkworth said: I blame Jorginho, if only to get a rise out of @Gol15 Unfortunately I simply can't come around and start caring about the pre-season, but obviously it hurts to see G.Jesus scoring so easy that first goal while I'm hyper aware of the fact that we somehow still got Werner playing as our central striker... Why can't he just finish a chance like that, you know you get the ball around the box, there is space and you just score... Low level of Timo's penetration (that's what she said) is going to make Tuchel a meat eater by December. But I'm saving all the thoughts and stats for the ending of the Everton match, and it could be quite a meltdown by the end of the Spurs match afterwards so I'll hold my breath for now...
July 24, 20223 yr It’s pre-season, which means this result matters as much as my opinion on particle physics to Brian Cox. We’re in a massive stage of transition. I don’t realistically see us challenging for trophies for another couple of years. We have a lot of dead wood to get rid of, and the conditions in America are not conditions our players are used to. But don’t worry, we’ll get there!
July 24, 20223 yr Good to see my performance on the dancefloor last night wasn't the worst compared to the one put in by these jokers. Need to get their heads right or the season could be a painful one.
July 24, 20223 yr I twisted my ankle and fell over in a beer garden last night and that wasn't the most painful thing I had to endure. We played absolutely crap
