April 4, 20233 yr Well that was fun. The sort of chaotic nonsense you are likely to see from two high-pressing, combative sides who will compete for possession but without much back-to-front coherence. We had sufficiently decent chances to have scored in the first half an hour (before Liverpool started taking more 'control') but it's not particularly surprising given our form/confidence/setup that we failed to convert them. I would be thoroughly unsurprised if this were to finish 0-0 (again). For what it's worth Mudryk would probably do well in this game, like he did in the reverse fixture. If you want to give the poor bar steward some confidence this might be a good opportunity...
April 4, 20233 yr 1 minute ago, just said: Why? We have carved them open repeatedly and had several clear cut chances that should have been converted by any half decent finisher. None of our players are proper strikers. Bringing a winger on won't change that. And no striker on the bench. It's truly baffling

The touch after Felix shot, the handball when running through on goal, the terrible pass into the box when Allison lost the ball. He just kills everything all of the time. I have never seen a player like it.
April 4, 20233 yr Has Potter really gone ? Lots of possession nice approach play totally inept at threatening the opponents goal in a serious way i.e. scoring On the plus side nice to have Kante back Looks like 0-0 unless they score
April 4, 20233 yr Fofana for Havertz. Aubayang for Havertz. Mudrick for Havertz. Olly Murs for Havertz!?

April 4, 20233 yr Unfortunately I think it is too soon for Kante to play the 90 so in the second half at some point I'd switch him and Kai for Mudryk and Sterling and go 343. Early days but very glad it looks like the injury hasn't hampered him negatively, there's always that paranoia given his best attribute is his engine.

April 4, 20233 yr 2 minutes ago, Sconnie Blue said: No he doesn't? He can offer the same off the ball aggression that he always does. Clear as day we need more attacking impetus. Kovacic had a good chance to score though and he's doing well in our buildup. Kante is in front of both Enzo and Kovacic and he's not really a goal threat so if you want to argue to put someone there for the final third it could be in exchange for Kante too, either way we lose a bit of balance.
April 4, 20233 yr Can we all just agree, after God knows how many tries, that this Havertz as false nine experiment is a failure?
April 4, 20233 yr Do we not have a CF in the youth or anywhere in the club? This is not working and is so obvious.

April 4, 20233 yr 2 minutes ago, timetowaste said: If that's the case, it's a shame he can't knock it in with his middle leg... he's forgotten how to use his left and right

It's clear as day that we need an additional attacking player but Enzo is not classic CM, if you leave him alone in that position against a team like Liverpool he will struggle a lot.
April 4, 20233 yr The best thing about this game is that Kante can be out for literally months and come back and still play like he hasn't missed a second of football. Incredible footballer.
