theyll still find someway to praise him, people are already calling them brave

They've ended up the fking heroes and they brought this on themselves.  The Maddison and Van der Ven injuries are hard luck, but we've had a season of it. The sending offs were their own fault and their tactics were poor when down to nine.

I've commented on this already sconnie. Tactically dumb to stick with such a high line having a numerical disadvantage. He also did nothing at all to try and calm his own players down. They were so over aggressive in so many challenges and he just stood there watching it.

Yep all he had to do was get into a deep block and we would struggle it was suicidal tactics

Very nice to see us win and especially against Spurs. And the suspensions and especially the injuries will hurt their season.

Was definitely a night to just enjoy the result though, as thinking about the actual performance would spoil it.

But, has a striker ever before scored a hat-trick whilst also managing to look like one of the worst players on the pitch?

Lets not forget though that due to our brain dead decisions they had two opportunities from set pieces with completely unmarked players at the back post. That is criminal organisation and defending that will be swept under the rug.

Oh 100%, couldn’t agree more.

But for a young team that have done an awful lot right this year and got not a lot out of it, it feels like potential for a real shift in belief.

espeically with such a nice easy game at the weekend to follow it up with!

Any win these days is wonderful and I'll gladly take the 3 points, but come on, we struggled against 9 men Spurs with one of their best players not even on the pitch.

We didn't just struggle, we were lucky that Bentancur and Son missed golden opportunities in or near overtime. And this place would have burned down if they put those away.

Really happy with the points. But it did absolutely nothing to instill any confidence in me we'll do anything of note this season. Had Udogie kept himself on the pitch they would probably have nicked it.

Look we went one goal down and won 4:1 and had the ball in the net a couple more times. Caicedo was excellent and was most unlucky to have his goal ruled out.

Sure we made hard work of it but one of the greatest Barcelona teams in history couldn't score against 10 chelsea stalwarts.

We got a ton of practice at breaking the high line, learned a few lessons and still won.

As good as James we lose little if anything when Gusto plays. Cucu is playing great, Gallagher has earned his minutes. Sterling is still a class premier league player. Jackson must feel so much better.

And you couldn't take your eyes off it.

If a genie told me I could pick one game the rest of this season that would be a guaranteed win it would be this. Unbeaten, overperforming and lucky Spurs with a deluded and cultlike fanbase away from home. Also just because it's Spurs. Something's just wrong in this world when they're in front of us in the table. Goes against the natural balance of things. Like a flying pig.

Would be a fantastic way to kick start a turn around of this sh*tty season.

Thank you!

Never been so underwhelmed after smashing Tottenham, we did everything to blow that.

3 points is a big relief thought no matter what.

Relieved is what I am going with. It's Tottenham though, and we don't win much these days, so I am going to ride this high until the game against City.

This!

Will take the win, but things aren't looking good at all.

I think we struggled to work out how to play their system when they went down to 9. To be fair Spurs had the same challenges against Liverpool when they played against 9. What concerned me the most was our defensive liability after we went 2-1 up. At that point it really should have been comfortable but we had to suffer some nervous moments until we got a third goal.

Ecstatic with the result, I thought after the first 10/15 mins or so we came right back into the game so it would have been interesting to see how it would have panned out but that's Spurs' fault.

I understand some people are gonna be frustrated despite the win but we stuck at it and ended up beating a team the media were w**king themselves into an oblivion over. 3 point lane is back.

As a Chelsea fan you have to take anything you can get, enjoy the win.

And Joe Cole said it perfectly just then, this will put a serious dent in Tottenham. Not just the result, the fact they lost so many players in one game, going to be difficult period for them after that.

Agreed.

For an attack that has been so constipated all season let's hope Spurs have this effect on our forward line now

I can only think of Luthur Blissett scoring one for England off his shin, his knee and his arse. Something like that anyway :-)

Great win! We’ve lost a fair few games and points while being superior to the opponents, it was time that we learnt to win no matter how we played. It doesn’t matter how we got the win, three points at Spurs and we dent their season at least for one week. Get the f**k in!!

That's certainly a good point.

I'm sure we've all heard pundits say, thats what champions/winners do....they find a way to win even when not playing well.

I'll take solace in that whilst still covering my face with palms and peeping through fingers.
