If you ever needed a reason to dislike Danny Murphy, he said that Udogie's first tackle was a brilliant tackle. Then the twat Sam Matterface blamed Sterling for waiting for the tackle. Sam Matterface is supposed to be a Chelsea fan too. Absolute twats.

How do they justify comments like that. The football administrators and pundits alike have made a point if clamping down on reckless and dangerous two footed challenges or instances where the player has both feet off the ground o  the basis they have no control over their bodies. Then in the face of two challenges, Havertz and Udogie they crumble and w*nkers like Murphy then pontificate on the merits of a tackle that last week or next week he'd be condemning. Prats.

What a crazy game! At 1-0 I feared the worst !

It just got crazier and crazier the longer the game went on.

4-1 to us😀😀brilliant,but I still can’t quite believe it😀

Excellent 3 points and not getting much of the really negative stuff being posted.

Spurs can have their plaudits. They completely blew any chance they had. We were always going to score a second with Ange’s mental high line it was just a matter of time. The love in for Postecoglu is way over the top.

Colwill isn’t a left back. Please stop playing him there.

We are not too far away. I don’t think I’m biased when I say we should have beaten Liverpool. Same with Arsenal and we fully deserved the 3 points tonight.
Delighted for Jackson and he could have had 6.

Enzo could do with a rest. The Romero tackle definitely affected him and he had the bottom of his leg in ice sitting on the bench. The last half hour was made for him too.

Silva is so important to us but I can’t help think we’ll get better when he goes.

Big performances needed in the next 2 games against City and Newcastle. Probably the best possible barometer of where we are right now

Agreed. I was pissed when the game was being played but when the dust had settled, I realized that the 3 points were more important and not the manner in which they came.

I think we will put up good performances against City and Newcastle but I don't see us beating City or scoring against them. Against Newcastle though, it can be a different story. Fingers crossed and if we can get 3 points from the next 2 games, I'd say that's job well done.

Fabulous result, but in all honesty, I didn't think we were all that great. Even against 9 men, we seemed to struggle to break them down.

But I am a glass half full chap, so am more than happy to accept a slightly fortunate 4-1 against the old enemy 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Didn't see the game due to work, only highlights (and plenty of them).  Totally mixed feelings - thrilled with a 4-1 win, surprised it wasn't 6-1 or higher, yet relieved it wasn't 2-2.

- Our finishing and final third decision making is well below the standard required, and scoreline flatters us
- Pretty poor breaking the high 9 man defensive line - we weren't sprinting enough behind, although credit where it is due for being more patient than us fans
- How did we, on no less than two occasions, leave players unmarked at back post defending against a 9 man side.  Inexcusable

I'm not sure if we build or what from that craziness, but on we go!

My thoughts exactly Phil. Lots to work on still !!

I'm not going to be negative about this game, Spurs played a really weird high press even with 9 players. I don't think anyone expected that.

I am surprised how long it took us to exploit that, even when Mudryk came on they doubled up on him every time, which you would think would allow further space for other players.

Happy for Jackson, the guy has the ability but just needs to bulk up a little more, plus gain more confidence. This will hopefully have that effect on him.

Makes up for us absolutely battering them at home last season only for the ref and VAR to rob us of a well deserved victory, a result the Spurs vermin celebrated in full despite being completely outplayed.

Some of the negativity over this result is baffling, Ive seen "fans" saying we shouldnt celebrate the win because we made such hard work of it against 9 men, are you f**king insane? We easily matched them at least up until the first red, and deserved to be level, it seems to have been lost how well we were playing in amongst all the madness that followed. Enzo is getting grief, but he was booted out the game, it was a tactic of Spurs to take him out completely.

We have played brilliantly and dropped points, we have played dreadfully and gained points, just enjoy battering the spurs at 3 point lane again.

That game was perfect for Mudryk through the middle, a game Cesc would of dominated, what I didn’t see was nice crisp passing really stretching them f**kers legs, a 3 at the back and just batter them, City or Liverpool would of humiliated them, we barely beat them, come on Poch sort us for Sunday..

I definitely enjoyed the game last night, but all the constant VAR involvement did not do the game any favours in my eyes. In the first half I felt I'd spent more time repeatedly watching things back in super low definition (the 66 World Cup was broadcast in better quality than VAR) than watching people play football. And I don't think I actually celebrated a single goal again as it's almost inevitable that by the time the players have run to the corner flag to celebrate that a VAR check will be instigated. And then a five minute wait to find out whether there's any reason under the sun to disallow it. Not sure I'm ever going to get used to football being played like this. Feels more like watching an episode of CSI. And how long until two teams of lawyers will be pitch side to argue the case for and against?

It was mad that they were really in it with nine men up until the very end - particularly as they still played quite gung ho. They are either the fittest team in the league by a mile or we failed to use the two man advantage to leave them dead on their feet after an hour.

I said to one of my legion of Scouse mates in a WA chat, last time I saw a team play so high a line was Liverpool against Villa, 7-1 if my memory serves, Enzo getting some stick, but his fellow Argie tried to leave his boot in his leg, the soft c**t, that really slowed him to a standstill,..Also I don’t think Poch knows his best XI, on this showing Nkunku is a certain starter..

Stupid media love for Spurs, Martin Taylor said something in the line of this is a brave way to lose a game🙄 If Sterling didn't jump in the first half for that studs up challenge, he would have sustained a long term if not career ending injury. The tackle from Romero was just as bad, have no business most contact sports let alone football. Glad we won the game, if we mucked it up they'd call Spurs the stuff of champion

Came here to say just this. We were in my opinion the better side for the majority of the time it was 11v11, they cut into us a few times (especially for their goal) but even at that point we were forcing errors from their defenders in their own half.

The pressure of suddenly being in a situation where we were expected to win handily perhaps got to a few of our lads when they went down to 9, but in the end cool heads prevailed and we sprung free of their high line and scored 3 times.

The plaudits Spurs are getting for that kamikaze football in the second half absolutely baffles me by the way. But hopefully it means if they're in a similar situation again they wont learn from their mistakes.

Regardless, with two players suspended and two injured they could be in real trouble now.

I was very intrigued by Ange's comment after the game. He said they won't change the style of play as long as he is there. So basically they have one style to play. I started thinking maybe that is very smart. Players are given simple directions on how they play and they don't have to react to anything. Hone that one system to a perfection thick or thin. Maybe he is doing something other managers need to do as well.

If you think about it they will rarely go down to 10 let alone 9 men. If they manage to win with the system, change nothing and it will be simple to every player in the squad.

I like his philosophy and it seems to be working.

I reckon Ange's approach is to fight fire with fire, even down to 9. If it worked ( they came close), would be a miracle of the century and really boost their morale. However, had they stayed deep, I don't see us cracking them open until someone makes a mistake, then they might stole one with a bit of luck. I didn't see us using the width or the number advantage even when they down to 9, had the fear we were going to muck it up and become the laughing stock of the year.

Well I reckon Fat Ange's high defensive line was plain mental. It lacked any semblance of logic. It was the Kamikaze plan of a pissed up mug punter sitting at a Blackjack table holding a Queen and a Jack and still deciding to turn another card from the dealer in the wild hope of drawing an ace.

As others have pointed out, it was only a matter of time before we cashed in. A two man numerical disadvantage, no real pace, other than Son, in their players left on the pitch. Particularly in the defenders. I would assume he is smart enough to know we struggle to beat a low block and don't have an out and out recognised goal scorer?

He seems a nice enough bloke but I also think the praise he gets is well over the top so early in his EPL career. That was just crazy tactics last night and if Frank Lampard, or any other manager, had played that way the media would have rightly slaughtered them for it.

I personally do not need an excuse to dislike Danny Murphy...can't stand that twat, so anti-Chelsea everything that comes out of his mouth.

As you say it lacks understanding of how we play and was just stupid, stay tight with a low 4 and 3 and theres a really good chance we dont break them down at all based on our matches this season. It wasnt brave, it was idiotic.
