April 24, 20242 yr Supported him all season but last night pushed me over the edge (I was very close anyway). I voted sack him but I don't agree with "sack him now" though because I think sacking him now would be pointless, may as well just let the season play out and get someone else in the summer. What did Lampard do last season with the final games? Absolutely nothing. Edited April 24, 20242 yr by Victor90
April 24, 20242 yr I'm on the fence. Mainly because as I posted elsewhere, I just don't think the club have got the money to sack him and be able to balance the books. Not when we still need more players, including a decent striker, which won't come cheap. I think gone are the days where we could pay-off a manager millions and just appoint another one. I was very pro-Pochettino when he was appointed but that is waning and even more so after last nights embarrassment and team selection. I still want him to turn things around but now have my doubts. Would love the season just to end now - have had more than enough of this season, with Palmer the only real positive.
April 24, 20242 yr Author I'd rather take a risk on a new manager, even an unproven one, than stick with a manager that's proven to be sh*t. That way we could at least go into next season with some optimism.
April 24, 20242 yr On the fence simply because I think he's been dealt a tough hand. Though he knew what job he was getting into and was very confident in his ability at the start of the season. I would part ways at the end of the season and not now because who's going to come in and be a caretaker manager for this lot. Or you get someone whos out of work right now on a perm basis like Hansi Flick. No top manager worth their salt is going to accept a caretaker role while we look for alternatives.

April 24, 20242 yr As much as I'd like him gone now, I imagine with 6 games left we'll just wait until the end of the season to decide. Reading reports that he still has some support in the squad and board, but his position for me is untenable, I wanted him gone after Wolves but getting hammered against Arsenal is just unforgivable and I'll never understand how anyone can think what he's given us this season is good enough to warrant another chance. April 24, 20242 yr I voted sack but I’m on the fence as to if it should be done now or wait until the end of the season. If he loses the spurs game I’d say it should be done now since the bridge will be toxic for the rest of the season if he loses such a game
April 24, 20242 yr Sack him now, on the spot, and bring back Bruno Saltor for the rest of the season I didn't want Pochettino to begin with but then I got onto the wagon and thought he could do well with this team. I was more or less on the fence until the Wolves debacle and since then I haven't seen any improvement that tells me that keeping him is going to be good for this group of players. If anything, I can only see them learning bad habits and they'll never learn how to play as a team. Even if there's no one better around, and I don't trust the board to bring someone decent, let's try something new.
April 24, 20242 yr Author A damning stat from his time at PSG. And this is with players miles better than the rest of the league. The idea that if we sign good players Poch will suddenly have us playing great football is delusional Edited April 24, 20242 yr by Drogba1

April 24, 20242 yr Most conceded goals in club's PL history, with 6 matches still to be played (Villa, Spurs, Brighton, West Ham, Forest, Bournemouth). So everyone that used to complain how we conceded goals only because Jorginho was playing, you got what you wished for...

April 24, 20242 yr I haven't been on this forum for a long. He's the worst manager in Chelsea history. Get rid.

Winstanley and Stewart spent 3 months of interviews to make sure he was the man for the job, and the arrogant blowhards did an interview cfowing about it. Where are they now? Behind Eghbali shadow, hiding.

April 24, 20242 yr Votes Sack him. Whether it is now or the end of the season makes little odds. I now expect us to tread water until the end of the season with either him or a caretaker. However a vote of confidence or discussions about contract extensions from the clowns upstairs and its gonna get fugly

I’m certain we would have won if it wasn’t for Sanchez being a thick twat. So many differences between the two games. We'd just played our 2nd biggest game of the season, we had lost our 2 best players to injury, playing away, and against a team that now has the ability to blow teams away. As they have done against multiple teams around us in the league in the last 2 months. But it's moot, we lost. I thought we would get hammered, we did. I don't think anyone else is going to hammer us. I don't think Tottenham or Villa beat us. If we lost those games then that's the real issue.

Both massive rivals, I find it strange that you would give poch a pass for a 5-0 loss to arsenal, but if we were to lose 1-0 to spurs that would be the tipping point. One of those results is bitterly disappointing. One of them is a record breaking embarrassment. Injuries have certainly played their part, but the failure to implement a working defensive structure, despite having no European football, is completely unforgivable. What foundations has Pochettino laid this season? Absolutely none. This summer we are back to square one whether he stays or goes. The change in tone from his opening press conferences to now is so stark. He speaks like he doenst have the fight in him for how big of a job this is. I think we need someone hungry, personally I'm talking Amorim all day. He is a coach in good momentum right now, and I feel we have most of the personnel already to give him a good base to build around.

Losing to a (much) better team shouldn't be the reason why anyone wants to sack a manager. Everything else you mention is the reason why. If we sacked Poch at the end of the season and got in Amorin I'd be happy. Because of all the reasons you've said. However if we finished 6th, I'd also not be desperate for him to go. He'd have another 12 months for me to show what happens in year 2. Which might be f**k all, and if it is then the narrative is on him and not on us firing managers constantly. I've not given him a pass for Arsenal. I just don't think it's worthwhile to dwell on losing to a better team, especially with all the context behind it. And also I hate Tottenham a lot more than Arsenal. Edited April 24, 20242 yr by bisright1
