May 10, 20242 yr Would be exactly what we don't need. When he scored a hat trick at the start of the season the media were quoting £110m for the c**t. Since then he's got 3 goals in about 30 games. Leave well alone.
May 10, 20242 yr Happily swap him for Broja. If they are valuing him any more than 25/30m I'd be nowhere near it.

( About £500 million). Don't understand how that doesn't impact FFP rules or 777's £200 million loan to Everton)?? Don't think he's in it for profit, him and his family are all Brighton fans. In the Argus newspaper report it says the profits don't include the Caceido sale to us, adding Boehly is more daft than they thought.! We should keep away from Ferguson, he seems to be injured a lot , that's the last thing we need .

I'd be curious to know how you reached the conclusion he is a c**t. From the age of 14 to the age of 18 Evan's trajectory was only in one direction. Since then I think he has been mismanaged by De Zerbi who has called him out a number of times publicly. He has also had a few knocks and rumoured to have been affected by Covid. The result of all this is that he has looked distinctly ordinary this season. However the old cliche that you don't become a bad player overnight applies in my opinion. I'd love him to sign for us and agree with what @bisright1 has written. It seems unlikely that Brighton would let him go for anything less than ridiculous though.

Brighton probably won't get anywhere near the money they would have done for him had they cashed in a year ago. Then again if they see our Directors knocking on the door they will hold out hope for another 100+m. I think Ferguson is a very good player at the right price. I would be interested to see if Poch could bring out the best in him.
January 28, 20251 yr https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6094219/2025/01/28/evan-ferguson-brighton-permanent-transfer/ Well well well
January 28, 20251 yr I really hope we aren't stupid enough to give Brighton money for an injury-prone non-scoring striker that they don't want ...
January 28, 20251 yr Clearly some of you are not cut out to be sporting directors at the top level. Let me show you how the pros look at it: Positives - Plays for Brighton, easy money - We still have the Bohemians scouting report from 2020 - Judging by his facial hair he's about 16 so fits our target profile - Don't think BlueCo have signed an Irish player yet, pretty good for the EOY report - Didn't he play well against us once? Negatives - He plays in a position we actually need reinforcements for, not very galaxy-brained - It'll make that bore Maresca happy - Got turned down by an Irish girl once while studying whatever godawful management course I did at Uni - The missus is shouting 'if he's any good then why is he being kept out of the team by a 57-year-old Danny Welbeck?' - women, eh?

January 31, 20251 yr All part of the master plan to double down on Jackson by signing someone that isn't better than him LOL

January 31, 20251 yr Madness really. Not good enough to play for Brighton but yet, the SD’s think he will be good enough for us?

January 31, 20251 yr If we wasn’t British and at Brighton, he’d be just one in a long line of promising youngsters out there who had a purple patch. His injury record is a massive red flag, even for a loan. Edited January 31, 20251 yr by Term_X

January 31, 20251 yr Don't understand the negativity, I thought people said anyone is better than Jackson? I am not opposed to a loan, it's worth a go as he is a talented striker.
January 31, 20251 yr Player who can't get a game for Brighton is supposed to be our striker? f**k off/.
January 31, 20251 yr Not sure about this one, personally for him I feel it would be the wrong time to come to a bloated squad like Chelsea. He needs to play regularly, get some sort of form back and overcome his fitness issues. I’d rather test the water with a bid for Liam Delap. A problem is our board like leaving until the last minute of the transfer window and even if we made an offer that tempted Ipswich they would naturally want a bit of time to spend money on a replacement. We’ll probably start bidding for someone around 7pm on Monday lol.
