I was under the impression that he was a defensive midfielder than can also play at LB and at SB. If this guy can't invert then what are they doing.

    If either of those things are true, and we can get say 25mill or more plus a sell on/buy back (sell on If we dont buy him back activated, if we do then it is not). Then why not.

     

    Biggest concern  I have is I don't trust these people to add what we need.

    2 and a half years in and the team still does not have a spine capable of competing at the top. 

    Spine being 5 players, keeper, CB, CM, main attacking creator and striker. They have spent nearly 2billion and have Caicedo and Palmer to show for it. 2 of 5 pieces.

    £25m, not a chance! I love how we keep pulling some of these numbers out of thin air, and I won’t be surprised if our SDs are that deluded. Basel paid about £4m for him in 2023, a year later we overpaid and signed him for £12.5m. Unless it’s a Saudi club, no sane club is paying anywhere close to £25m for him 6months later.

    Most of these players they want gone like Chilwell, Chukwuemeka & Casadei are being priced out of the market, and will sit on the shelf till the club faces the reality that they overpaid for them, and they are not worth their demands sat in the stands. Players don’t magically increase in value because they are on your books.

    It's odd cause when he did play left back he was inverting and doing it well so I'm not sure why he's been frozen out.

    Veiga is inverted fb, very very raw though

    He will have a hard time finding them then, because there aren't many around that can play the role.

    Quick profit on a player is the ideal model for the club. Doesn’t really look upto it and if it is down to wanting to play CB he’s behind pretty much every name.

    Loan with option to buy unlikely to bring that as Dortmund will try and negotiate a price lower than the clause, if they even want him, and he will end up back here in the summer.

    If he is going we should insist on a buy obligation that includes the same sell on 20% (and a buy back price) we have in Guehis deal.

    Think he cost us 12mill. So agree a obligation to buy for at least 20mill eith those clauses, or 30mill without them, give Dortmund the choice between the two packages.

    Lower price with clauses, higher one if they want no clauses.

    Not a buy option though, is meaningless.

    I’m genuinely really disappointed. I’ve always thought he was a real find, he can play anywhere along the back line and in midfield too.

    His passing is pretty good too, if we wanted a centre back who can play long balls and comfortable on the ball, it’s Veiga.

    I personally hope he doesn’t go anywhere as I’m a big fan of him.

    I rate him too, I'd be disappointed if he left after only half a season. He seems such a bruiser-type, we need that.
