If and when he leaves, he's earned it!

While I was hoping that he'd retire at Chelsea, I always had the hope to see him playing for Athletic Club Bilbao. I guess that he does not contemplate going to a mid-table team with no chances of winning much, but please, Azpi, do not go to that despicable club at Barcelona. In any case, he deserves a big applause and will always be a Chelsea legend for me.

With the way things are going, we are going to be left with 2 players that can play CB next season, one of them a 38 year old, the other a rookie. I think we have to be in the market for Kounde in January. We simply cannot afford to wait. Maybe do a Pulisic like deal where we sign him but Sevilla keep him until next season.

Im worried if we leave Kounde until the summer other clubs will be in for him. But in January Sevilla are less likely to sell and we most likely have to pay the release clause and i dont think Chelsea will do that. £68M i think his release clause is.

Even Silva is rumoured to be heading back to Brazil this summer.

Yeah he has a plan to retire in Brazil. Just a case of if it is this summer or the next.

There's no question he loves this club and I personally think he's the type to keep signing those 1 year deals until the club decides not to offer them any more.

If he is to leave this summer I think it's more to do with the club wanting to refresh and sign a younger player for the long term.

If this season is his last with us, he deserves all the plaudits and respect from the supporter base.

Won everything that's possible and been a fantastic servant for the club.

This would be a good season to go if we’re being honest, as Ivanovic tainted his legacy a bit with us towards the end.. rather that not be Azpi.

Dave has reportedly agreed terms to join Barca at the end of the season. His family are said to be looking forward to returning to Spain.

In Azpi's case it probably should be the end of the journey here. His legs started to go a few years ago and now they are very, very gone. He was getting rinsed by Gordon yesterday.

Problem is of course that we are on course to lose him, Christensen & Rudiger in one summer. And all for free which gives us one massive headache in the market and may very well screw up next season as well.

And we sold our promising centre backs in Tomori and Guehi.

Kounde is Azpi long term replacement. Id the the release clause in January.

Don't see AC leaving and i can see Silva signing for an extra year too.

I suspect Colwill be part of the squad next season, so I imagine that will leave us looking pretty OK for centre backs - Silva, Chalobah, Christensen, Colwill ... plus James to play at RCB if needed, and there is always Ampadu as a potential squad player as well. 

I think we will look to bring in a back up wing back that can play on both flanks, which would enable both Alonso and Azpi to move back to Spain.

A proper DM to screen the defence would be a good signing, as it would give us the option to play 4 at the back, and get an extra attacking player on the pitch. In this scenario, one less centre back option is less of an issue as we'd only be needing 2 instead of 3.

Then why has TT dropped him behind both Dave and Trev in order of preference when he was one of his main guys before?
