Then why has TT dropped him behind both Dave and Trev in order of preference when he was one of his main guys before?

To put pressure on him to sign the contract. Think the publicity has had an adverse impact on his form. Tuchel hasn’t helped by bringing him in, and then dropping him again.

So far does not seem to be working well.

Have reached an agreement with Barcelona according to some top sources in Spain.

Looks like he's another defender leaving this summer.

Hope he stays.

From a sentimental standpoint, so do I. Though deep down I think it's the right time for both player and the club seeing as he won't be playing anywhere near as regularly beyond this season if he stays.

Just wish he hadn't chosen a despicable club 😞

It would be a shame if he leaves this summer, especially if it's for the club that I despise the most. I think he still has at least one more season at the top level. Even as a back-up in the future, his sheer presence would be of crucial importance.

Anyway, no matter what happens, he will always have a legendary status in my book. Right up there with the very best to have ever worn our badge.

There is no way he would not have an offer from us on the table.

If he wants to stay he will stay. Most reports are pointing to him and his family wanting to return to Spain. Barca being chosen because he is friends with Xavi amongst others there.

Nothing but love for the man, best wishes to him and his family. Let's send him off with a good season.

Gutted /if/when he leaves, but its possibly the right time for him and us. Shame if he goes to them vermin, but he has definitely earned the right to choose who he wants. The consummate professional, one of the best pound for pound signings we`ve ever made and has earned the respect of all Chelsea fans.

Got the equaliser when most of the front line kept fluffing their chances, gave an effort more than a lot of others today from the start, still one of my favs in our current squad, a proper player for us.

Well done Dave on your first ever FA cup goal. You dragged us up by the scruff of our necks.

Proper Chels

Obviously I agree with the sentiment but I definitely remember him scoring an absolute belter at the King Power a few years ago under Conte.

You may have to forgive my whisky-sodden memories, but I always recall that being in the FA Cup. Was it not?

Think that Leicester goal was in the EFL cup. Absolute belter.

Pretty sure this goal today was Daves first ever in the FA cup, can't recall any others!

Legs don't work like they used to, but he gives us more effort than anybody else in the squad, always has. People are saying now is the right time to move him on, and I don't think he will stay even if we wanted him to, but I am not one of those that would be quick to get him out of the door. What he offers us is hard to replace, and we will notice it when he's gone.

Proper Chelsea legend. He gives his all every game he plays, even if he’s not having the best of games, he’s always trying as hard as he can for the Chelsea shirt. He’s a reliable sub now a days and he never complains if he sits on the bench games on a row. I will be sad to see him go but he deserves to choose his next move as much as Hazard did. I’m glad that he did score today.

Think that goal from Dave may have been in the League Cup instead at the King Power in 2016 - we played Leicester in the FA Cup at the King Power in 2018, goals from Morata and Pedro to win that one (remember that one cause I was there for it during a day in mid-March back then when it was still a bit snowy!)
