August 5, 20223 yr Pretty good decision! Quite happy about this - and I don't care for Barcelona. In fact I'm rooting for them to sign Alonso.
August 5, 20223 yr Clearly it is all about the money only. He made a point of requesting that he be allowed to join Barcelona to finish his career. They have steadfastly shown an interest in him, even if they want him for f*ck all. For him to do a complete u turn and tehn sign on for another two years to basically be a benchwarmer can only be for teh additionla 30k per week.

Contract length is probably important to him, knowing he can have 2 more years at a top club competing for a spot is always better than 1. Barcelona are likely to have offered him a bigger contract in one way or another, if he really wanted the move he would have kicked up a fuss about it, missing pre season etc. He is not that kind of guy, club legend who actually loves the club.
August 5, 20223 yr His versatility is very valuable I wonder what happened though I thought he was very keen on a move ? Or was that just press talk ?
August 22, 20223 yr Love the man but it's Looking even more like a horrendous decision to keep Apzi and give him a pay rise. His legs have gone the point Tuchel will play Reece at RCB against any decent or pacey opposition and stick RLC at Wingback and that's before we sign another CB. There's really no reason to be loaning out or marginalising Chalobah when he could easily be filling Azpi's current role in the squad. Edited August 22, 20223 yr by HazardousChoice

Almost a perfect documentary except they left out his FA Cup win! and put in all those horrible losses instead ffs

August 27, 20223 yr Good performance again today, in my opinion. His legs may be going but he’s still a good option to have.
August 28, 20223 yr Only needs to play 15 more games to overtake Cech for appearances. I don't think he will touch the top 5 though, he will need to play over 100 more games to get amongst that group.
August 31, 20223 yr Should probably have let him go to Barca. Way off the pace at full back and sadly we don't have anyone to play there other than Azpi when Reece is injured. Should have snatched Clauss up for £7m as back up and let Dave leave.
August 31, 20223 yr Backup player and the best option for him would be RCB in my opinion. As a RB he's not there in the PL these days...

His best days are well behind him, and he was very poor last night. The difference in us as an attacking team with him and not James at RB/ RWB is ridiculous. And last night our vulnerability on the right with Azpi instead of James was equally ridiculous.
September 15, 20223 yr Honestly it is sad how we have Ivanoviced another legendary defender. It is clear to see Dave does not have the legs needed for any of the positions in the back line or at wingback anymore. It was a bad call to keep him, and it is a bad call anytime he is picked ahead of Trev, Fofana and Koulibaly.
September 15, 20223 yr Should have let him go this summer. Don't get the point of us signing all these defenders yet still grasping onto him.
September 15, 20223 yr WTF starting him tonight, did everyone else get injured or that's some FM madness? Keep him it's fine since he's one of the few leaders we have, but should be used sparely, not starting in the back 4 in a must win game for god sake

Playing Azpi as backup is good because he can play lwb, lcb, rcb, rwb but starting Azpi make 0 sense.
September 15, 20223 yr 5 hours ago, RIP Mourinho said: Fofana has to start ahead of him every time he's fit. Or Trev, or Koulibaly. Dave should be no more than a back up and leader from behind the scenes. JT did it at the end.
September 15, 20223 yr Fell asleep for the goal if he was alert that goal never happen even with Silva mistake.
September 15, 20223 yr He's not in the team because of what he offers on the pitch but in the dressing room. We have a dearth of leaders and strong characters. Too many meek players. We've got Silva who might not be too great due to Language barrier and also now Sterling. Jorginho and Rudiger who were also strong characters and voices on the pitch haven't done as much as Azpi has for bringing in new or young developing players into the fold and making sure they integrate properly. Listen to interviews of any new signings or young players and what they say about him will inform you why he's still in the team. And I mean the Chelsea squad not necessarily on the pitch. That's in response to those saying we should have let him go in the summer.

I agree to a point but the problem is, if you are constantly one of the worst players on the pitch your teammates will eventually stop taking you seriously, subconsciously or otherwise. So he really needs to be on the bench most weeks now. Edited September 15, 20223 yr by Argo
