Eden Hazard - Chelsea Legend

I suppose it's subjective.

Talent wise he is one of the best to have wore our shirt along with Zola for that out and out talent/skill level.

I still hold Lampard and Terry above all in terms of the best to have played with us.

Just fortunate as a football club to have as many genuine world class talents in our lifetime.

If Hazard was to sign a new deal, he could reach Lampard and Terry's legendary status. For now though, he is behind those two and a few others for me.

327 games 101 goals

2x Premier Leagues

1 Fa Cup

1 League Cup

1 Europa League

PL player of the season 2014-2015

Chelsea player of the year 2013-2014, 2014-2015, 2016-2017

He's been hugely influential in both our title wins, especially in 2015 when he won us so many important points in the 2nd half of the season. He's one of the most technically gifted players to ever wear the shirt and even when we couldn't offer him Champions League football he still stayed with us

If he did decide to join Madrid in the Summer it wouldn't change the reputation he has created with us, he will go down as a legendary player for us IMO and if he does join Madrid and we play them I'm sure he'd get an incredible reaction from the Chelsea fans

I seriously hope we keep him this Summer, we simply won't be able to find another player like him. If he did sign a new contract with us then it's safe to say we'll have him for the rest of his career which would be amazing.

For me Terry and lampard can't be rivalled by hazard. They were the best in a top 3/4 side in Europe. They broke the mould.

Hazard...he's a great player. But he's not consistent enough for me and as controversial as it may sound, I think he makes the team worse more often than he makes it better. Too often it's "without hazard we wouldn't have won" and when hazard has an off day, we also look bad.

I wouldn't be surprised if he went in the summer and we improved.

I'm actually inclined to agree,  Coutinho and Bale could be seen in a similar light.  Hazard obviously has been more consistent for a longer time, but winger also is the easiest place to find quality right now.

We can improve if we get new players in the summer even if by that time Hazard leaves. Specially considering that in that case we should promote Hudson-Odoi and get to see Pulisic.

That's how I see it, if the man wants to move on, respect his wishes, treasure the memories and make sure we get compensation.

Real Madrid are ready to pay the €100m fee for Eden Hazard. He is now inching ever closer to becoming the newest icon at Real Madrid. #CFC #RMCF (MARCA)

100 million Euros is the asking price set by Chelsea, although Madrid hope they can adjust that somewhat due to the fact Hazard will only have 1 year left on his contract by the time negotiations begin. #CFC #RMCF (MARCA)

Hazard has no doubt what his next destination will be and he will reject any proposal that comes to him in order to be able to wear the Real Madrid jersey from June 30. #CFC #RMCF (MARCA)

If Eden leaves one positive is that CHO may see more opportunities at Chelsea. Of course that assumes he hasn't left already

Sorry mate, but Hazard will never be on the level of Lampard & Terry for me. He’s simply not got the mental bottle that those two had in abundance. I love Hazard but sometimes his head drops very quickly and he starts getting a bit stroppy. If Lampard & Terry were in that side. They’d be going berserk at their team mates for performing the way we have tonight.

The likes of Terry, Lampard, Cole, Drogba, Cech are untouchable for me.

I just don't get what the manager sees.. It's sacrificing two positions by playing him there. It doesn't bloody work.

STOP DOING IT!!!

We are so vastly superior when Eden is on the left and giroud is up too. It’s no secret we are more dangerous this way. Problem is giroud cannot play 90 mins and morata just isn’t cut out for premier league.

Fair enough, I can see where you are coming from with that analysis, Hazard isn't one of those that will shout at his team mates or show a lot of emotion on the pitch to get us going. The reason why I think he can reach their levels is because he has been carrying the team for what, 5 years now? It's got to the point now where if Hazard isn't at his best, then we look lost. I feel like he is at their levels when it comes to his football ability, but unlike those players, he just doesn't have enough help around him. Back then, if Drogba wasn't doing it for us, it was Lampard, if it wasn't him it was Terry, if it wasn't him you would have Eidur, Carvalho, Gallas, Ivanovic, Essien or the two Cole's saving our ass. Drogba and Lampard would often go on a run of games without goals, but they had others around them to help out.

I always say that if you take one of those players you mentioned at their peak and throw them into the team now into the team ahead of Hazard, they wouldn't be anywhere near as effective. Terry, Lampard, Drogba, Cech, I don't think they could do it all by themselves, no player can.

Real Madrid aren't much better though.

Nope but they are a bigger club and draw than we will ever be if you are being realistic. History shows they will get better and be a force again, it’s just the way it’s always been.

We are no longer a power house in European football, we can’t even get CL football.

Well I'm still confident we will get top 4. Real Madrid might not get champions league football yet either. Yes they are a bigger club i get that, but they have an ageing team and not spending loads, so im not sure being a bigger club is that much of a draw. I never get too down with results in football, things change so quickly in football. We could sign Higuain by the time we play Spurs, he scores the winner to knock Spurs out and were in the final and everyone is upbeat again.

He has already said his dream is to play for Real Madrid one day. It’s pretty much the dream with every footballer between them and Barca.

I don’t know what’s got you so confident of top 4 because we are nose diving and others are stepping up. Unless we spend big and the squad starts to gel with Sarri then it’s a huge ask at this moment in time

its only Utd who have stepped up, but they have defence issues that will come back to haunt them i suspect and they have had a nice run of fixtures. Arsenal lost 1-0 to West Ham only a week ago. I understand its a dream to play for Real Madrid, but the dream isn't as shiny when they aren't that good either. Hazard is having his best season statistically, its not all doom and gloom about staying at Chelsea. Im confident because i think with a striker, Hudson Odoi to play more and hopefully after Sarri little rant, Emerson might play over Alonso.

Feels weird to be writing this but I've felt for a while now we might not improve till he goes and his transfer/contract situation is hurting the team.

he looks half in Madrid to me, Sarri came out over a month ago asking for this to be decided, problem is with him not declaring what's happening when I'm 99% sure he knows he's going is delaying Chelsea .. we can't go anywhere till we know because if he goes we need a revamp and reinvestment to keep fans happy after selling our star player and stay competitive. If I was to bet in the Chelsea dressing room and your going through a huge slump of not scoring goals and dropping points and the media being all over the farce of false 9, Kante/Jorginho and to top it off your star player is already in his head in Madrid are you set up in a positive or negative environment.

i don't think he's our main problem I think he's more than likely a reason for our bad form though.. his forms not good, his attitude and body language has definitely changed to that mourinho season again, it's so obvious to see with him because usually he gets kicked all game and gets on with it and now he's totally moaning and gesturing to his teammates.

Inknow he doesn't like false 9 but your our highest earner so your going to have to try.. just feel if he applied himself more and stopped sulking about if he would be more effective there.

Also he with Willian is one of the worst for too many touches and slowing down the play, I love him I mean absolutely no hate just think this has ran its course now snd it's time to move on as it's best for all involved, the sheer amount of times hes talked about them this season especially on international duty just tells me its time to move on.

Don't blame him if he's going to leave, we are just an ordinary team at moment and I don't see us getting better after the Sarri outburst. A game like yesterday, he became a bystander as the ball never reached him.

What Happens if in reality Hazard isn't top of Madrids shopping list

Seems unlikely considering Real Madrid's current struggles and need for proven quality.

A 100 million (probably less considering our weak bargaining position) for a player like Hazard, in todays inflated market, is a bargain.

Think he's just fed up with the mediocre players he has around him. You can tell he's getting more and more frustrated.
