Ah what a player he is when in the mood. Incredible first goal.

With more protective refs he will light up la Liga with Real.

I don’t think he will, he’ll be confused when he’s not kicked 20 times on his way to goal.

He had a run in the second half when he was kicked by 5 different players, finally going down on the 5th.

We will see. Interesting summer ahead.

I hate watching Sky Sports after Hazard puts in a top performance. Every time they say the same sh*t "he needs to do more".......it's boring. All they talk about is stats. Goals and assists win you games, but he scores and assists enough for me. Not every world class player needs to be scoring and assisting 20+.

The funny thing is, he could quite easily hit 20 goals this season.  At 16 after today, so it’s well within reach.  Wonder what they’ll have to say then?  Prob the same sh*t.

I honestly feel if we can get to champions league/win the Europa league and the board show ambition in the transfer market (if the ban gets lifted), there is a chance of convincing him to stay.

I think we've got a chance as long as we qualify for CL. Keeping hold of CHO as he develops into a class player and adding Pulisic plus the other young players like Tammy, James and Mount that would be inevitable if the ban stays should be very exciting for him. Maybe it's too long term but Eden isn't on the wrong side of 30 and his game isn't based off pace so he should age well.

Just run out of superlatives for Hazard. Some of the goals he has scored for us over the seasons - No other player could score such goals - he's on a different level.

Will be gutted when he leaves, but what a joy it has been.

I think there’s still a chance he might stay. We’ve been annoyed for his flirting with the media but I think he’s been honest and is generally in two minds, on the one hand his childhood dream in Real but then on the other he’s living the dream at Chelsea and he is a Chelsea man through and through now. I’d be gutted if he left, especially after reminding us how good he can be last night but I think there’s still a chance he commits.

It’s obvious he is gone but the real issue is the fee. Numerous places say Real won’t pay the £100 million asking price which is a bit ludicrous given he’s easily worth double in this market.

Id rather keep him and lose him for nothing if it meant a season of seriously getting top 4 and maybe even CL football which would make that money back and more.

Exactly this.

Apparently once fergie convinced Rooney to not join us because we wouldn't meet the asking fee. Telling him - if they don't value you right, why go there?

If they stump up £100m. Then let him go.

Madrid don't want to wait a year for him even if he is free, they need a big name.

I think there are 3 small chances of him staying.

1. The ban gets delayed,we make champions league, and we make some big moves in the close season, and hazard believes we have a team that can match his ambitions.

2. The ban stays in place, hazard takes pity on our situation and stays.

3. The ban stays, real Madrid low ball us to the point we may as well keep him for a season and lose him on a free.

All 3 seem very unlikely, if the ban doesnt get delayed, it will be a real struggle if he goes, I think we could even drop out of the top 6, with wolves and Everton investing heavily.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for option 1 though. We will know more on Thursday, maybe the fifa appeals committee will grant a stay of execution, since there is precedent.

We'd be damaged but we'd probably end up on a similar points total. A second season with a manager like Sarri, signing players like Reece James, pulisic and Tammy Abraham to bolster the squad. Lots of green shoots to think about.

I hope the ban doesn't get reversed personally. I'd rather we have a season blooding youth and then decide who we need to buy in a year. We arent close to Liverpool and citeh and we won't be even if we spend £200m in the summer.

Oh and hazard isn't going to sign a contract extension regardless of what happens. He loves Madrid and Zidane. No number of transfers can change that. He might stay if we keep him because Madrid low ball, but that's it. And his performances between now and the end of the season I suspect will mean Madrid won't low ball.

I think it is unlikely we would get a similar points total, as good as the kids are, it's a big ask to replace hazards goals and creativity.

We spent over £200m in 2017 so I'm not why you think we couldn't spend that this summer if the ban is delayed. Theres plenty of money in the club, and there is money to be made from player sales.

No one but hazard knows whether he will go or stay, it looks unlikely at the moment, but who knows, maybe he has a change if heart. He loves Madrid and Zidane, but having spent 7 years here, I would think he has a strong affection for us aswell. Maybe his family dont want to leave in the end. I assume neither if us know hazard personally, so you can't say anything with certainty.

Like I said there are 3 small chances, nothing is certain, especially in football.

If he goes, then I wish him all best. I'm expecting to him to leave, but until it's done and dusted, everything is a possibility.

I thought he showed a lot of class when get asked about the going to Madrid song, any other answer the headline for the day and week would be Hazard confirms he's leaving Chelsea. If he goes, wish him nothing but the best, but I'd hate seeing getting booed by those fickle idiots at Madrid someday. They booed Bale, the guy who won them 2 CL on his boot.

His game isn't based off pace per se, but he is a quick player and tends to use his pace to his advantage to beat players. I think as he ages, things may be different.

I didn't say we couldn't spend £200m. I said even if we did, we wouldn't close the gap on city and Liverpool. So I'd rather we didn't do that until we are more certain on what gaps we have

If we did spend £200m, we'd buy a right back, a midfielder, a wide player and a striker. In my opinion we might not need any of those in a year (other than striker). So why do it now.

I'd be personally shocked if hazard doesn't leave. The only way it happens is if we don't sell. If hazard thought he might stay he wouldn't only have 1 year left on his contract.
