Cuadrado - Chelsea's #23

Featured Replies

Put in a low dangerous cross that no one could get on the end of early in thr game, then got the penalty too, so had a reasonably decent impact. I think he'll get better, he just needs that pre season. I think he, as well as a fee youngsters will get a nice run out when we go to sydney for the end of season game/s.

Thought he showed glimpses of why we signed him. Quick feet and bursts of acceleration to get in the box and fed to ball to Costa or win a penalty. Personally made me feel much better about us signing him, thought we'd fooked that one right up!!!

I thought he was pretty awful today, got the penalty and had a good 5 minutes at the start, but lost the ball alot.

Looked like the player he was in Italy today. Has a good spell were he beat his man and out in a good cross, then completely goes off the boil giving the ball away and runs around aimlessly. Then has a moment of quality that got us a penalty. Reminds me a bit of Ramires in that when he is off, you vannot believe how he is even a professional footballer

hopefully the knock doesn't mean he's out of the Colombia Copa America squad, a good tourney for him can only be good for Chelsea, game time, confidence etc.

despite it means joining the pre-season a couple weeks later

If we get our money back, happy to let him go. He's a good player, but no competition for Hazard or even Willian, no better than Schurlle/Oscar. We should aim for some real quality, or just use the likes of Salah for the odd starts.

Keep him until January or the end of next season? What if the player wants out as much as the manager wanting him gone?

If he is to be sold, then do it now. Don't keep a player under duress or flog a dead horse trying to force it or hope it comes right.

We should try and recoup as much of his fee as possible before that goes into free fall with more wasted months here. Replacing him now would also give us a chance to let whoever comes in have a pre season under their belt instead of having to come in and adapt in January, when the business ends of both the league and CL get going.

I'm not saying sell him regardless, but if his heads gone and he needs to leave - and let's be honest he played like that's the case - then sell him asap.

If he's not a part of Jose's plans and the club don't think he is going to improve enough to justify the outlay on him then sell now, recoup what we can and invest in someone who can do the job properly.

Not all transfers work out, be best for all parties if we held our hands up, admitted it's not a good fit and moved on as quickly as possible.

That's two years running we've invested in subpar wingers in January, hopefully we sign the real deal next time around.

Sensible post

Do think this guy could offer us a lot though, a good pre season and a proper run in the team and we could start seeing results

Maybe best to cut and run though if both parties think it's for the best

Shame though

He is going to Copa America and will have a holliday after that. He will not take part in our pre season to improve and he will most likely miss the opening games as well.

We will be really short on wingers, if he leaves though. I don't really see many quality options available this summer.

If we sell then Jose needs to have a look at his failings with this right wing position, it's just not good enough.

He's signed Willian, Salah and Caudrado.

He's also had Schurrle and KDB but they were club buys.

Willian has been a success (though I still think there is significant room for improvement).

Salah was signed as a stop gap because of the money on offer from United for Mata, he was a fairly cheap low risk punt but ultimately not up to standard.

KDB, there was clearly a personality clash of some sorts there.

Schurrle, I dunno, he's the one that got away for me. I don't know what this illness/injury thing was he had for a large part of the season but it appears Mourinho lost patience with him because of it. Maybe if we'd allowed him time to fully recover he might have fitted in fine but who knows, instead we spent £27m on someone who clearly wasn't up to the task on playing and we've been told wait six months, he might come good rather than showing that same patience with a player who was already here.

I'm thinking he might be going nowhere if Jose has confirmed his lack of interest in gruezmann. That is a bit worrying, but he's he boss.

It just means we'll get Bale. ;-)
