June 9, 20179 yr I'd love the China-deal. 80mil and to a place no one will ever see him again. Plenty of money to buy Lukaku or some other profilic striker
June 9, 20179 yr guardian, telegraph, mail, etc. releasing essentially the same story at about the same time, i wonder if it was a brief from the club it is a believable scenario imo, i just can't see conte and the type of man he is, sending basically a feck off message out of the blue, it must be triggered by something and more likely it's because diego once again being a major twat, who knows diego might have planned all of this all along to accelerate his move away from england sheesh what a mess
June 9, 20179 yr I just want him gone think he's been a good player for us but he's never been committed truly. He's talked of leaving far too often and look what happened in Jan. There's people across the next sticking up for him which I can't understand. Edited June 9, 20179 yr by Bobbywoodhogan
June 9, 20179 yr Grateful for what he's done for us but not I'm not exactly going to be shedding a tear at his departure. £40m is still a good deal for us.
June 9, 20179 yr Conte: Please stay in shape over the summer unlike in 2015; Costa: WHATEVER I DO WHAT I WANT; Conte: f**k off
June 9, 20179 yr I backed Costa during his sh*t spell but now am done with him sooner he leaves the better

June 9, 20179 yr Really poor from Costa, and didn't really do his future any good by going public, we aren't going to keep an unhappy loose cannon anyway. Even if what he said it's true, there are much better ways to go about this. I have the feeling it's the work of his super agent again, trying to force his way out
June 9, 20179 yr He basically leaked a personal conversation, shows his character and the tough time Conte probable had dealing with him
June 9, 20179 yr According to the Metro newspaper Atletico Madrid have come up with a novel way of signing Costa...bankrolled by their new Chinese owners our Spaghetti Western friend will spend 6 months in the Chinese league before transferring to AM in January...not entirely sure if it will work especially given the current limit on foreign players and 100% tax in Chinese football but what the hey...if we get the right money for Costa I'll happily give him a piggy back to Heathrow... June 9, 20179 yr Can't stand that c**t. Taking second half of the season off in both title winning seasons. Constantly acting like a petulant child on a pitch at the team's expense on countless occasions. Angling for a move back to Atletico from the moment he first arrived, not caring one bit about the negative effect it had on his current club (remember last summer when he was caught moaning to Sergio Ramos how he never got his move back to Madrid). And the last bit - telling to the reporters he isn't wanted at CFC anymore, knowing full well the terrible position it puts the club in terms of transfer negotiations. As much as I think it was a blunder from Conte to send that text, it doesn't excuse that prick's actions one bit. I can understand not being able to settle in and the desire to go back where you feel happy. But there are such things as professionalism and courtesy and this w**ker has never shown us either. And the whole time the club was standing by him and the fans were chanting his name. Edited June 9, 20179 yr by abramovich
June 9, 20179 yr I don't think that Costa's antics have affected his price... IF.. He has pissed Roman off to such a degree that he orders our negotiators to have a price and stick to it, Costa still has enough to run on his contract for the club to stand firm. He can only go for 20mil if we say he can, if not he can rot in the reserves or train with the kids. Do any of you really think he could do a Malouda ? I very much doubt it, he would be copping fine after fine for breaching club rules.. Bottom line is how much is Roman pissed off with him, because if he is there is only one winner and that's Roman and the clubs standing against a petulant, brattish, spoilt, prima donna. Harrummpphh !!
June 9, 20179 yr Reading the Express, apparently Piers Morgan has mentioned Arsenal should offer 80 million for Costa. Interestingly it might be the only way we can get Sanchez, as part of the deal. How would this be perceived by Chelsea supporters, if it were a realistic option ?. Edited June 9, 20179 yr by Osgood is Good

June 10, 20179 yr So the latest media narrative has Costa making a harmless joke and conte turning in to a right pr*ck in his reply to him... Well they need a new Chelsea villan with Costa leaving.

June 10, 20179 yr 13:20: Spanish newspaper AS claim to have obtained the text message that Diego Costa received from manager Antonio Conte. The Italian manager reportedly wrote: “Hi Diego, I hope you are well. Thanks for the seasono [sic] we spent together. Good luck for the next year but you are not in my plan.” Costa’s reply was equally blunt, he said: “Ok”. it says seasono must be legit

I can imagine a 'joke' text from Costa! These two clearly rub each other up the wrong way. Didn't Conte rant 'go to China' at him in training as all the transfer stuff surfaced.
June 10, 20179 yr Some interesting points have been made. I wouldn't text an employee telling them they were sacked so seems very odd if it's true within their professional environment. I personally think Costa burnt his bridges in January and was on his way out regardless. Conte is a tough task master and he wouldn't bow down to any player on the planet. It's a shame as I do really like Costa. The rapport he had with the fans which you don't see on tv was brilliant. Southampton away the bloke got us bouncing. Great times.
