Even when we were struggling in the past at least the players tried, dug in, actually made f**king tackles... That there in that video is pathetic.

That video is scandolous... it really is.

But...as I posted in elsewhere...I really don't want Conte to come out with this with what he wants...his huge payoff... or what he appears to want...

I really don't want the man getting a 20mill payout and have supported Chelsea long enough to see both good and bad seasons. So this season we end up in the Europa League and most probably trophy-less. Either Conte takes the job with Italy, somewhere else or he stays. Great no problem, one more season to plan ahead, let him make a mess of things. His ego wont let him relegate this club he won't want to blot his CV with that. Maybe we miss out on Europe all together. No big deal. Happened before. Maybe Tibo is sold, and if he is I don't particularly care. Likelihood is Hazard has gone already, which would be the only real shame in all this. Let Conte leave to a new job or let him leave at the end of his contract. If he stays give him zero say in any signings. Let all signings be based on the future and line up who we want to replace him after his time is done. I personally would like the job to go to Eddie Howe. Not a glamorous enough name or enough big game experience right?

Sad thing is it was inevitable as soon as I read his quotes from his pre-match presser. It was obvious our players would be unmotivated. I wonder if he's ever thought of trying to galvanise his squad instead of moaning like a bitch every time somebody puts a mike in front of him? Maybe that idea's a bit too radical.

I remember Ferguson in his last season at Utd, with a far inferior squad than that of some of his rivals, and a far smaller transfer budget. Won the league at a canter. Didn't moan once about the hand he'd been dealt. Saw it as a challenge.

Conte's got a different idea of management, and it's not my idea. I think he's spoilt and petulant. No sooner had he got kicked out of the Euros than he held a press conference slagging off the Italian Federation, and it was exactly the same story at Juve. He throws his toys out the pram when he doesn't get exactly what he wants and that's what he's done here.

I'm telling you right now folks, before our game against Barcelona, he'll be at it again, sapping all the spirit from our players before a ball's been kicked.

The definition of insanity? Trying the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Perhaps he doesn't want different results, perhaps he just wants to make his point, in case we hadn't heard it the previous thousand times.

He's conveyed such a negative message all season, he's made it so obvious he wants out, today we saw the culmination of that, a team literally going through the motions, a team as uninterested as their manager, a team as unfocused.

I apologised to Nibs earlier for calling this guy a c**t. I take that apology back. He's shat on his paymasters, he's shat on his players and he's shat on the fans. It's a miserable season from start to finish and it's all because he's had a face like a slapped arse.

Instead of moaning and moaning and moaning just quit. Sadly he hasn't got the integrity.

Funny thing is though...given how awful we were today...our away fans still sang Antonio...Antonio....They must be seeing something we are not. Maybe we are the ones wrong in all this....

I can't stand the kneejerk in this thread, holy sh*te, I think I'll avoid coming on here after the Barcelona match.

There isn’t anything knee jerk about it. The mans lost the dressing room, he doesn’t look interested and if it carries on then we’re gonna be in danger of losing players like Hazard & Tibo. End of the day this is a culmination of the way he’s been acting, sh*t arse tactics and results.

This has been going on for over 2 months now, that's just abit longer than knee-jerk.

People were not calling for his head like they are today, I've only ever seen it after a defeat, when we lost 4-1 to Watford people were calling for him to be sacked then around the time we played Barcelona & West Brom I heard nothing of it until now. We've been terrible for a while now, it's nothing new so I don't understand why everyone is suddenly shocked and mortified. This performance I can definitely understand because its embarrassing, but I didn't really expect much different.

There is a thing called ambition you know. If you don‘t care about it you can join the Italian fraud manager in our dugout.

Absolutely shocking. Look at us, absolute shambles.

I'd rather have us lose 8-0 if we showed some effort and tried something than that "defending a 1-0 loss" sh*t there.

That deep 2 banks of men formation... Cesc stopping before he strays too far.. players walking around, not believing in what they're doing and probably embarrassed about carrying out these tactics.

We would have been better off telling the players to just play however they like.

Yes and you're a clear example of what I'm talking about, you've only just joined and you're saying ridiculous things.

I personally feel he should have gone after the Watford defeat, I did call it but once we knew he was staying I felt he was here till the end of season, I didn't actually think it could get much worse. Regarding the last 2 games, Utd was there for the taking, Conte lost that game IMO. Granted today not many fans was expecting to get 3 points but was you really expecting to have 0 shots on target? For the team to put in one of the worst performances I have ever seen, no fight, no hunger, a manager who makes Wenger look like the master tactician, I can't believe it has got worse.

In his post match press conference Conte said "I'm not so stupid as to play open against Man City and then lose 3 or 4-0"

So we had a whole week to work on tactics on how to beat City, and his only objective was not to get thrashed, not to try and win.

So the players would have had a whole week of him telling them what could happen if they allow City to run riot.

He has literally drummed into the players all week that they are inferior to Man City.

I see that some people have compared his tactics to the Barcelona match, but for me this is totally different.

For starters City have a younger faster team that press even more than Barcelona so you tweak your tactics accordingly.

Also, the Barcelona tie is being played over 2 legs so for them drawing 1-1 is okay, because they will fancy their chances of finishing off the job in the 2nd leg at home.

We could of really done with a win today (a hard task admittedly), but we at least needed to try and win.

We were 5 points behind Spurs and even more behind Liverpool & Man Utd with only a 10 games left before kick off, we couldn't afford to write off this game as a "anything other than a thrashing is ok" game which is exactly how Conte saw this game.

I think the only games that truly matters to him is the Barcelona match and maybe the FA Cup games.

If he's not going to here next season (and that looks likely that he won't) then why would he care if we finish 3rd or 6th - he won't win a trophy either way.

Now we are in a position where even if we was to beat Liverpool & Spurs we would still need to win all our other games and require further slip ups from both of them.

Up until today I wanted Conte to stay but change his ways and cut out the constant moaning in public.

But now I think we are in serious jeopardy of missing out on the top 4 because I wouldn't trust him tactically to pick up the 6 points needed against Liverpool & Spurs.

Today has sealed it for me, if we miss out on the top 4 then so be it, but I can't accept not trying to win football matches.

We come too far to resort to tactics that even West Brom would be embarrassed about.

I‘ve just joined but that doesn‘t imply that I am a new Chelsea fan. I have to take out my disappointment somewhere and therefore I joined.

I got the feeling Conte is provoking his sack abd the board doesn‘t want to do him this favour. If Conte had some backbone, he would walk away and neglect the severance package. What a hypocrite. His record is overrated anyway, his CL-record is simply sh*t. CONTE OUT!

He should be sacked for the simple fact that he is Wenger‘s bitch. That‘s something that should make him think. What an embarrassment. This guy makes Wenger look like a master tactician. Shame on you, one-trick pony.

Spot on as usual.

Conte is like a rotting apple just now, it' spreading. This is just like Mourinho before he got the chop...he is sulking, doesn't look arsed and is talking absolute sh*te.

That there today was worse than anything I have witnessed from us since I first watched this club neaely 3 decades ago. It was horrific

No manager is going to wave the stupid money we have him tied down to, that would be moronic. It's just the way it is. If you expect someone to walk and say no to millions of pounds you are a fool

You'd think any decent lawyer would be able to significantly negotiate downwards the "£20M" pay off figure ... blindingly obvious from all observable behaviour that Conte is seeking to engineer his own exit.

That was pathetic today ... a new low in a season of lows ...

Giroud comments are noteworthy :

When asked if Chelsea could have been more ambitious in their play, striker Olivier Giroud, who came on as substitute, said: "It is a good question. The coach made his tactics. We tried to respect it."

Spot on as usual.

A bit hyperbolic but I agree with the sentiment. For most of Conte's tenure, even the calls I never agreed with I found myself saying 'I can see why he did that'. But today, for a manager of one of the biggest teams in the world, to do buggerall after going down 1-0 when we desperately need points... Disgusting.

I know we as a community set the bar pretty low these days, but the last 10 hours of this thread are quite possibly the most embarrassing thing(s) I've ever read on this forum.

The many among you who have said 'I've never been more embarrassed to be a Chelsea fan'? Me neither...

If it's looking like Mourinho again, something must be seriously wrong at the club. How many managers will the club go through before realizing that they need to change something? This constant rebuilding is not healthy, and we end up spending a lot of money for little improvement in the squad because every manager desires different players. The club has to wake up and fix whatever is going on

How is it knee-jerk? I did not see people wanting him out after the palace or burnley or watford or bournemouth losses. People did not even want him out after united loss because we had some positives. Last night was simply one of the most embarassing games I have watched. 80th minute to make a sub and put a striker in? Seriously?

People are pissed because of the way we played. The cowardly manager in which our manager accepted defeat and did NOTHING to change it.

He is so afraid of "losing face", that he has already admitted and accepted defeat and would just go through the motions. Against watford, we might have conceded 3 in the last 10, but atleast tried to get the maximum points. Today we are 7 points adrift of pool,6 off united and 5 off spurs, and that would have stayed the same irrespective of 2-0/3-0. But atleast we could have TRIED.

Conte set us up to lose but not have his ego hurted. That is absolutely unacceptable. His constant moaning is cringe inducing. The guy can get lost right now.

I think some of us are more let down by players failing to perform than Conte. This is the 3rd game straight he's been let down by players failing to finish, not his tactics.

Sure there's beef to be had with his subs but he got it spot on against both Barca and United and City scored from the same position (with 2 of our players making an error) as Moses had when he couldn't even hit the target. Don't forget Kante was a late scratch so who knows how it would have gone with him playing.

You can cry all you want about how we played but if we'd lost 4-1 while being more open I have a feeling you'd still be calling for him to be sacked. A major rule in any sport is you don't play into your opponents hands.

Yes the players haven't been great for a while now, but they look like the enjoyment has been sucked out of them with our awful tactics.

The False 9 is such a waste of our talents, we have a good enough squad yet Antonio chooses such negative ways of playing. As good as City are they can be beaten, but we are just another team who has given them far too much respect this season. In fact we are the biggest culprits with how we played yesterday.
