Malang Sarr

Yeah, he proved he’s not good enough. He single-handedly (outside TT) gave Arsenal the 3 points today.

You only have to look back a couple of pages to see how radically opinions have changed on him. I really felt for him tonight. 23 years old, new to the EPL, not in his natural central position. He should be being eased in SLOWLY not thrown in at the deep end. He has played more than he should have done this season. You could see his face in that last half-hour, he looked scared. In fact he looked terrified. Shame on Tuchel for leaving him on.

Think that should read Just - He should be eased OUT of the club, QUICKLY!

I don’t care if he was terrified, the reality is he’s not good enough and he hasn’t really shown that all season. Why should we give him time if all he’s given us was, average at best?

It’s not his fault he had to play, that’s on Tuchel but he isn’t good enough. The sooner he goes the better.

Like with Christensen, why did Tuchel chose him and Andreas over Silva and Chalobah? Surely these two were available and are above the pecking order? What was Tuchel thinking about? It was embarrassing to see the defence tonight.

Agree with the above sentiment. Seems he has to play out of his skin to be at the level required for the top end of the league, which in fairness to him he has done more than a few times this season. That isn’t sustainable though as we saw last night and I think he will be gone/last choice next season

I think fans are a bit too harsh on him, he is 5th choice CB, 2nd choice LCB, & 3rd choice LWB. Put aside the complexities and view him as a 5th choice CB; Gomez is 4th choice CB for Liverpool, and Ake is 4th choice CB for City. I would argue this is just about the right level of talent you will get for that role. If he were to leave at the end of the season, we will bank about £25m for him which is all profit on a freebie.

Ake and Gomez are on a different stratosphere to Sarr. So is Tomori, and Guehi who we deemed not good enough.

I don't think it's that simple. Guehi and Tomorri wanted out because they wanted regular football. They're good young players but they're not as good as our current starters and they weren't content with back up roles. What exactly were we supposed to do? The only thing to do was to sell them while we could, which we did.

Tomori had 4 years left on his contract, and we sold him with no clause. Guehi had 2 years left, and probably wouldve extended if he was afforded the sane minutes as Chalobah and Sarr have got. We were forced into selling any of them. In the summer, i wasnt too worried about the centre back situation, but we missed out on Kounde, lost Christiensen on free, Azpi has declined alot, and Rudiger's contract is still in the air.

Maybe the people running the club, shouldve seen this coming?

Lampard didn't play Tomori for over a year, it would have been borderline employment abuse to not let him go.

Guehi didn't see a pathway to the first team although with Trevoh's promotion he was probably a bit overzealous in hindsight. He'd have probably won that spot if he stayed for pre season.

Either way those two and Sarr are total separate entities. As sh*t as Sarr is he's happy to be a 5th/6th choice CB and merely exist in the squad, Tomori and Guehi clearly wanted more.
