January 21, 20197 yr Yup, I’m really excited after seeing that video. It clearly shows he doesn’t rely on pace, which goes away with age. He relies on clever movement and communication, although I can just picture him making a fantastic run into space screaming for Willian to pass the ball, and he is just stood there doing the shoulder feint for 20 seconds. Nah I’m really positive, I think he will take our team on to a new level.

Personally I would rather we had recalled young Mr Abraham and given him a bit of a go. But then I'm just an old romantic who still mistakenly believes a talented young man that regularly finds the back of the net might be worth a try. Silly me.

January 22, 20197 yr Higuain is a hit or miss: if the former, I am confident for the remainder of the season, if the latter, well, just look at what happened in Greece during the olympiakos v AC Milan game ...
January 22, 20197 yr I love how everyone judges him on his time at AC Milan rather than his record prior to that. An average Milan team where Bakayoko is actually one of their better players, that says it all really.

An average Milan team where Bakayoko is actually one of their better players, that says it all really. But why wouldn't you judge him on his most recent performances? Even last season, his record for Juventus was 16 goals in 35 games. A decent goal return but not overly impressive for a player in a Juventus team that scored 86 goals. So do we have to go back even further? His scoring record for Juventus overall during his two seasons was very good but there's a reason why they let him leave on loan this season.
January 22, 20197 yr Nice to see we're all keeping an open mind about this one, at least until he's actually signed.
January 22, 20197 yr I'm looking forward to seeing him play, Plus it frees up Hazard for the left side position. Should be a big improvement over what we are doing now.

January 22, 20197 yr Dybala plays a different position. And I imagine Mandukic would be on lower wages than Higuain. Just because they let him go, doesn't mean he's not a good player or they didn't have their reasons for doing so.

Also I don't think juventus could afford to have Ronaldo, Dybala, and Higuian, all on massive wages. So obvioulsly it would make sense to move higuian on.

You could also argue if he was that important a player, they would have kept him & gotten rid of someone else. He did play with Ronaldo at Madrid. Mandzukic is also on course to match his output for Juve last season. Very sceptical about this signing because of his age and pace of the PL, but fingers crossed he hits the ground running.
January 22, 20197 yr I'm hoping he has an effect like another aging Italian striker we signed a generation ago, Vialli.
January 22, 20197 yr Very good signing for me. But CMs and fullbacks are the same, so I don't think there will be a huge improvement.
January 22, 20197 yr Right now the Milan management meeting that of Genoa to file last details and close operation Piatek Ac Milan and therefore give OK for transfer Higuain at Chelsea waiting only for a call to take the first flight to London I do not think there will be any kind of problem Edited January 22, 20197 yr by Ispanico

Huge difference in the overall quality of Serie A then and now. Vialli, Zola, Guillt, Desailly, Di matteo all came in an era when it was the best league in the world. Now it isn't even close.
January 22, 20197 yr I can see this dragging on until the end of the window. Milan won't sanction anything until they have the replacement signed, and they don't seem to be in any hurry. If it all falls to pieces at the last minute no doubt we will be scrambling around in desperation on January 31st.
January 22, 20197 yr 1. Higuain spotted in Milan airport, en route to London. 2. Higuain spotted in Germany, flight scheduled stop in Munich. 3. Higuain looks annoyed as he took the wrong flight to Jeddah 4. Higuain spotted in Milan airport. Next flight to London 5. Flight to London cancelled.
