Jorginho is.... (well now was) a Blue

Not 100%sure that he’s wrong for a number of reasons.

First he is already registered at the club

Second, he qualifies as HG for the 25 man squad.

Third, we will need to rotate in games like the Carabo Cup and indeed the FA cup.

Fourth, he didn’t suit either Saris or Contes style and as witnessed at Derby Frank deployed Huddlestone in a role not too dissimilar to have Danny played at Leicester

And finally

Fifth, he may well be so motivated to prove everyone wrong it could ultimately be a defining factor.

and sixth, he wasn't really given an opportunity. kicking his heels and not even being given a squad number has helped him go off the rails a bit. he needs to knuckle down, get fit and start playing. as a no nonsense workhorse in the middle of the park, Drinkwater can do a job for us. Often there is a fine confidence line between decent consistent performances and dross.

I thought he still had #6 ? Still shown as such on the club website ?

I think it was for our European games last season, he wasn't even allocated a squad number. I may be wrong, I normally am.  I think my message was that I don't concur with the theme of his totally sh!t. These guys thrive on adoration and therefore their egos, confidence is paper thin. I've seen on countless occasions where a slight dip in confidence results in a previously top quality player becoming torres, sorry torrid!

I don't think he is a total write off. He may not have the flair of a hazard, David Silva, KDB etc, but hey neither did Frank when he started with us. He was a workhorse midfielder that through sheer hard work and endeavor took himself to another revel.

As one half of a title-winning engine-room, there is definitely a player in there .... 4-2-3-1 with Kante and Drinkwater as the 2 in the pivot would probably be worth an extended go ...

Yep agree and guess that’s what I was suggesting in my 5)

If we genuinely are thinking about a three up front of the likes of CHO, when fit , Pulisic and maybe Batshuayi/ Abraham then we will need some legs in midfield

I think we sell him in January for a good chunk of change. Sarri will tell Juve they need him to correct the bad results he's about to have.

I don't think we should. If Sarri is to crash and burn in Juve that's his problem.

I think he will compete with Kovacic to start at the base while Barkley & RLC will compete for the AM position. I think mount will see game time till september in the EPL till RLC comeback and then its a slugfest.

My sense is we will keep one out of Baka and DD, which i cannot split between - DD has the advantage of being Brit but Baka is younger and with a year of football behind him.. lets see who do we move on.. if atall.. but at this moment 8 midfielders is one too many for 3 positions...

To play devils advocate if Lampard is asked the question what is he supposed to say ‘Jorginho is w**k!!!’. What has he said other than Jorginho is a good trainer and a bit of a leader.

My own opinion is tha5 he is a very limited player as far as playmaking goes and his main role seems to be recycling the ball. Maybe Lampard will get something more out of him, I really hope so because I don’t think I can watch many more of those attempts of over the top through balls which are better suited to school boy football.

I struggle to see how he will ever adapt to the English league. Similar to Bakayoko he is a player who may shine in French and Italian football but in the Premier League he looks as comfortable as Ryan Giggs at a family reunion. Some players are just better suited to certain leagues. Like Chris Sutton was to the SPL, where defences are sh*t.

Key words in your statement is "My opinion"

Correct  Brutos, that’s what forums are about are they not. It is my opinion that he is not suited to us, and it is yous that he is. I hope for the sake of CFC you are right. I have no problem in being wrong, I have been many times before and I’m sure many times in the future.

In his first season in the Premier league he made the most passes in total, over 3000 passes and nobody from midfield is in the top 5 it's basically just a bunch of centre backs and Jorghy leading that stat.

If Man City had won and signed him over us he would already be hailed as the new Xavi but since he's with us he is bound to have haters even from his own club fans.

Lampard could say whatever he wanted, he chose to say the truth, we have a good footballer that is well behaved and hard working and that impressed Lampard. Greatness can spot greatness.

He would be hailed as the next coming for a midfield maestro. It's odd that once the media started to target him some Chelsea fans who also complain about media bias didn't realise what was actually happening with Jorginho and jumped on the bandwagon. Watch how the narrative change with Frank in charge.

It does make me laugh that in an era where midfield dominantion and press resistance is key, they decide of all player's to go after they pick our most technically acomplished midfielder and also our best player at resisting pressure.

Even more laughable is the way everyone lauded fernandinho for city, saying he's integral to the way they play, they miss him massively when not there etc...

Fernandinho average stats the last few years, in a team scoring sh*t loads of goals...

Goals - 2

Assists - 2

Hmmmmm.....

He is though. Just as makalele was for us and you wouldn't rate his contribution based on goals and assists. Cock size for sure though.

I was more using it to show exactly your point, you don't rate that kind of player only on assist or goals..... Or on disco stick size.
