Thought he has been a bit below par lately, but yesterday he was back to his best. Very switched on in taking the Yellow card after he had lost the ball himself and the scousers were on the break.

What a baller, Mendy simply took the show in the game but Kova was fantastic.

I had a free bet on him getting booked and us to lift trophy. He timed the booking just right and I cashed in before the lottery of the penalties.

Some other poor bugger stood to win 6 grand for a 0-0 draw and zero bookings at the end of 90 minutes.

Kovacic blew that one for him right at the end LOL

If he hadn't taken the booking it might not have ended 0-0.

Thought it was a bit of a howler from Tuchel to not start him.

For me he's comfortably our best midfielder and he needs to be in the side. Certainly made a big difference when we replaced Kante yesterday.

Ye very surprised he did not start. Also playing against his ex team and his idol would have been a little extra motivation for Kova.

Seriously one of our best players.

Play so much better when he starts, excellent today.

Looking at Kova you realise how good KDB is.. how did we manage to have him and let him slip though …. If only kova could get even 50% of KDB’s end product

It's not just Kova. If only Jorginho could see and hit the passes KDB does every game.

My anxiety triggers just when I think of KDB and Salah. If only we had a competent manager in charge at that moment, instead of that washed up dinosaur... I know, I know, some might get offended by this, Mourinho is a big part of Chelsea's history, I must admit Mourinho Mk I - loved him. Mourinho post Madrid was, and still is, way past his expiration date. Outdated, grumpy, toxic, stuck in the past, full of trauma and an ego bigger than the Empire State building.

Chelsea's scouting & recruitment team coupled with Klopp I think would have made for THE PERFECT partnership. Think Klopp is unique in terms of building a top team on a fairly decent budget recruiting only players that fit his style of play. No huge names, no absurd transfer fees.

I mean, they don't play in remotely similar positions. If anything you should have a problem with Kante in this regard as he's the one who finds himself in the final third most of the time. If you want to compare Jorginho with anyone at City it's obviously Rodri.

Don't you dare mention Kante or Mount here! De Bryune needs to be compared to the deep sitting players, not to favourites!

Or see and make the passes that Fabregas / Pirlo / Luiz  / Xavi / Xabi Alonso / Kroos (insert name of deep lying playmaker here), could make etc. etc. etc

Kante isn’t the same type of a player.

Since Lampard retired I think De Bruyne has been the most dominating CM/AM because he had some season back 20 assists in the league and 10+ goals, obviously still not toe to toe with Frankie but comparable.

Rodri is the best DM of the top teams this season, though Man City is better as a team overall so it’s kind of normal that he has slightly better numbers in comparison to Jorginho and Fabinho.

Thought Kovacic had a very good game. Had a couple of his trade mark runs in midfield hardly lost the ball and assisted on Werner goal with a nice through ball.

He’s such a good player. I’ve always been a fan, hope he is here for a long time.

I thought he had an excellent game, he ran that midfield for me. I don't know why he keeps finding himself rotated out of the team so much, he's been at the top of his game for the majority of the season.

Felt that, like RLC, there were opportunities around the Madrid box when he could have been more positive in running at players and forcing them to make a decision that would have opened up space for others. 

For 75 minutes he and Kante mostly controlled the midfield and set the tempo.

Such a brilliant player. What a performance. Most underrated player in squad/league. He is one of the best CM around honestly.
