Oh look at Rashford, he’s been in terrible form for months and months, let’s just sell him shall we 🙄

Rashford is on his final year of his contract. Upping his form to get that renewal.

What is Mount doing to justify his alleged 250K demands?

😅 Not me.

The offending tweet:

That tweet wasn't half as bad as I expected it to be, I've seen players get a lot worse than that

It’s obvious the Twitter trolls are getting to him, these trolls deserve a good kick in the head. They’re getting what they want, Mount need to rise above it and do the talking on football pitch. I know he can do it.

If I was a coach, the first thing I would do is tell the players to get off social media sites like Twitter. Criticism is one thing, but people on Twitter and Instagram go too far. One comment I often see that pisses me off is along the lines of "get out of my club"......I just want to tell these people to shut the f**k up. Mount has been here since he was a young boy, the person commenting probably hasn't even been in the country, this is Mount's club more than most.

Contract hasn’t even been renewed, just an option for an extra year.
Smart move for both parties might be to let him enter the last year of his contract; if his poor form continues next season he might reduce his salary expectations, if he has a storming start to the season the board would be forced to pay him his demands. If there is no middle ground, he can be sold next Jan window for £30m. Fingers crossed it doesn’t come to that.

I’m not even sure what options Mount and his team think they’ll have. Liverpool look to have an uncertain future atm and I doubt they will pay him the wages he wants.

I believe common ground will be met.

Wtf, your full of it mate, throwing insults around all the time. Get down the bridge, be a new experience for ya.

Did I imagine Mendy making individual errors against Real Madrid, Leeds, West Ham, Saints, and looking no where near his shot stopping best since 2021? This was all under Tuchel. It's looking likely Mendy's best form was a purple patch. Maybe that's why he hasn't played top division football until his late 20's?

As of now, I am feeling way more calm when the defence has the ball/defending the ball as opposed to when Mendy and Koulibaly were in the side.

If we are talking about individual form I will agree. I thought we were talking about the team as a whole though and we are worse now than we were when Mendy was in goal under Tuchel.

Whether you want Mount to get a new contract or whether you want Mount to leave, what is unanimous is that this bloke needs to be out of the team and sort himself out. Blocking people on social media now? Clearly not in the right state of mind.

This is where I expect Potter to man manage him given his degree in emotional intelligence or what ever the f**k it is.

Did anyone see Recce James' instagram story? Feels like it was directed at Mount

James' always has those weird quotes of the day.

So the one chance then? I'd go as far as arguing it was more impressive from Enzo to actually find Mount in that position. Which is funny because Mount was practically holding Mudryk's hand that entire half instead of actually being a #8.

Bar the cross almost everything Mount did was wrong. Again. As many have alluded to, with Felix back he needs a good sit on the bench for the foreseeable future until mentally he can come back and fight for his spot.

I thought there were at least two chances haha.

But as I said in the match chat, who is to say these aren't the instructions he is getting. You don't go from two time poty to dog turd in 6 months.

The job of the next manager (whenever that is next week or end of the season) will be to make a proper pattern of play to allow Mount to play his game.

YounesHD and Man Knows Footy( two pretty well respected Chelsea Youtubers) both know a season ticket holder who sits in the Exec club stand, and he's saying Potter was yelling out instructions to Mount and Gallagher to close the gap between themselves and Enzo to no avail. He's also saying Tuchel used to have the same issues, particularly with Gallagher in terms of instructing him positioning wise.

So don't pick them then. Tell them if you want to play does as instructed. You pick them again and again and they don't listen to you the other players will think why should I listen to you either.

Neither should start games at the moment anyway based on current form. If they don't listen to instructions there is absolutely no reason to keep playing them.

I thought one of Mount's plus points in his career to date was that he had the discipline and application to do whatever the manager asks him to do. Certainly seemed that way under Lampard and Tuchel anyway.

Possible also that his "dad" count has simply stopped at three ? 🙂

I still think his loss of form is a combination of his relationship break up, but most significantly the muddled coaching, which HAS to be a factor given that pretty  much the whole squad appears to be playing worse than we have seen previously. It's not as if it is just Mount playing badly is it ?

Under Lampard I heard he would stay to put in extra training after the official training ended.

I don't think he does that any more, either he is less committed or now has a more active social life.

Mount will lose his place before Gallagher because Felix is a mount alternative. Mount is now competing against mudryk, sterling and Felix, madueke maybe fofana. Stirling  could play a false 9 but i never like playing wide players centrally.
gallagher is not great playing deeper but he is a lot better at defence than mount and without kova, zakaria or Kante he gets a spot. He’s way ahead of Lewis hall axeman would pick chalobah in i midfield but he’s the only one. With felix back a double pivot is a natural setup.

Good point about the competition.

That's all great in principle but that leaves Potter with a new signing as his only midfield option. I'm sure they wouldn't be playing if we had viable options.

Good post.

I still fail to see any benefit from these types of social media applications at all. It seems to me to be an outlet for people to abuse each other or send offensive images with impunity. There is a significant difference between lighthearted banter and these targeted, personal and offensive attacks, usually perpetrated by people who would never have the bollox to act in this manner in person.

Why any sports person or celebrity would engage in an un-screened form of social media amazes me to be honest.

I don't get this. On his debut Felix showed brilliant ability to get shot after shot against fulham in penalty box.

Yet people say we want Felix to play in Mount position.

No not necessarily in the Mount position, whatever that is, and what is it? Is it on the left of the mid three or is it wide left or right?
No my point, and I always feel like a dummy in these forums because so many know so much, is that felix will play and some other attacker has to miss out. And since Mount isn't really a winger and certainly isnt doing much defensive work its him.

As far as I can see when Felix plays we will have four attackers of whom two are wide felix is one and at the moment havertz is the other. Again probably making too many assumptions I have Mudryk, Stirling and Madueke as the main competitors for the two wide positions.

Where does Mount play in your system?

Mount has always played as a second striker or as an 8. Second striker could be a threat but he can play as an 8 for sure but just not when partnered with gallaher and Jorgi.

He can't play as an 8 when we have felix as second striker or in the hole and two wide players because there are enough positions. Only room for two in the midfield then even if there are only 4 at the back
