July 11, 20206 yr Wonder if Frank will hold his hands up for this one, starting Tammy and having Azpi at LB yet again does not send the right example when going to one of the most difficult grounds in the League. I bet he won't.

We have spent 90 odd million on our forward line and now look to have blown a potential 60 million CL place. There's no way we are signing 2 new first pick CB quality players in the summer let alone a new keeper and full backs. We are going to have to get people in who can coach and improve players because our current set up clearly can't. We’ve not spent money in over a year? We sold Hazard for 100m+ we get 50m for Morata this summer. Guaranteed we’re moving players on this year... Batshuayi, Bakayoko will all be moved on. We will have plenty of money to spend. We will sign Havertz, Rice & Chilwell (I’d rather skip the last one) and I think we’ll get another 2 on top of that as well. You can save this post and I’ll admit I’m wrong come the end of the transfer window if I am but I’m confident those three will go through and possibly two more like I say. Another CB & a GK.

The away games against Liverpool and Wolves are going to be really tough. We sold the top 4 today and at westham it’s very unlikely unless Leicester capitulate but this will give them a surge seeing us stumble again today

July 11, 20206 yr Hopefully Frank learned something today because this loss is totally on him. No team motivation, poor team selection and wrong tactics today. Coach was the difference between these teams today.

Atleast 50% of the PL teams rely on a big striker to bully defenders, if we find someone strong and big enough to win 95% of these duels half our defensive problems go away. I also believe a strong, fast and aggressive DM infront of our defence would solve alot as well.

I do think we need a proper defensive coach.. better players who can play an expansive system... Sir Alex was also very close to being sacked before he turned things around. People are getting carried away because we lost a game - it happens. Tactically we were all wrong. None of the players get pass marks. It was just a bad day at the office, one to write off and we go again midweek.
July 11, 20206 yr This Team Needs Some Leaders In The Spine, No-One Realistically Is A Leader In This Team
July 11, 20206 yr I know I always say something to this effect and it’s getting tedious but I’ll say it again - it’s not the end of the world. Pretty much everyone on here would have been ok with a top 5 finish at the beginning of the season. It would be better than my expectation.
July 11, 20206 yr Let's be real here, we're a Europa league team (and that's being generous) and our defence is League 2 level) again this is being kind) f**king awful performance, not just our defence but all over the pitch, nobody showed up today. Time to get the vodka out and forget this sh*t show ever happened.

Our defence is sh*t and i hope this is the last time i see that soft ass Christensen is a Chelsea shirt.. Honestly we should sell them all except tomori who has upside and can be improved. Christensen plays the physical game like a girl, ( Actually like a soft girl because not all girls are that soft ) and i think its too late to buy brains for Zouma and Rudiger
July 11, 20206 yr David McGoldrick has scored his very first Premier League goal; it took him 42 shots and 1615 minutes to do so.
July 11, 20206 yr That was an embarrassment to the club! Defensively we are screwed for the rest of the season but no way in hell should any of those clowns ever play for Chelsea again once this season is over! Zouma actually gave up on the 3rd goal which led to yet more non league level defending from the truly pathetic Rudi. It's a miracle we're in contention for a CL place with a relegation level defence in front of the leagues worst keeper.

July 11, 20206 yr I will not single out any player simply because this was all on the manager coach, you can see which team had a game plan and which didn't, you could see which team players knew there role to an absolute T and which didn't. Simply put we have a amateur manager who wasn't ready for this job and was only given it because of his name and history with Chelsea, if it was on merit then his last performance would have completely ruled him out at Derby.

July 11, 20206 yr Chelsea had 76% possession in this match but lost 3-0 – since 2003-04, when full possession data is available, this is the biggest margin of defeat for a team to hold as much as 76% possession in a Premier League game. Countered.

Plan or not. We have defenders literally assisting their attackers, we have a striker that can't do anything even remotely right and we have a goalkeeper so bad that a shot on goal equals a goal for our opposition. There isn't that much the manager can do about all that. Several of those that started today are either not ready or not good enough to play in the premiership, let alone Chelsea.

July 11, 20206 yr 7 minutes ago, Chelsbear said: That's on him and his coaching staff. If they can't make a decent defence out of what we have in our ranks at all levels then serious questions need to be asked about his ability to manage us. Let me offer my frank and honest opinion here, Lamp is CLUELESS when it comes to defense. And I'll tell you why from an American perspective. You see, we Americans suck at football, we have very little talents when it comes to soccer, yet we're able to make it to the WC consistently over the past 20+ years (except the last WC). When we enter the WC, we're considered one of the weakest teams in the tournament; yet we're able to consistently move past the group stage and into the round of 16 while some countries like Germany, Italy, France, England, etc exited the group stage. You see, our players are made up of mostly guys from the Championship, Bunlesliga II, Colleges and Universities, and sometimes a few from the the EPL and Bundesliga. And we have to face the mighty soccer nations such as England, Italy, Germany, Spain, Brazil, Argentina, etc. Yet, we're still able to keep the games close, and sometimes we're able to get a point, and occasionaly took all points. How did we do that? We defended, and we defended well and we also had some decent keeper. You see, a very well trained and well drilled and well organized defensive unit can go up against some of the best in the world and still able to keep the game close or sometimes steal points where we had no chance. We did not get slaughter 3-0, 4-0, 5-0, etc even our defenders are made up mostly of amatatuer or at best 2nd or 3rd tier players. So, in conclusion; Chelsea defenders are actually not that bad. Ask yourself, how many EPL clubs have better defenders than Chelsea on papers? Not many. However, as a defensive unit, they consistently perform very poorly; and that is because of the incompetent in their commander. I don't believe that Frank is a terrible coach. I think he's good at the offensive, I think he's also good at man management, and I think he's also skilled at inspiring his team; but I truly believe that he's very poor when it comes to organizing an effective defense.
July 11, 20206 yr That was as bad as i can recall Chelsea can collectively play, from the initial super slow, continual passing across our back 4, played like 11 individual strangers, Sheff utd showed how a well drilled collective can beat a better team on paper, glad i didn't join in during the game, plenty for Lamps to peruse for next year.
