Fell sorry for Mata. Had the decency to keep the medal round his neck while most of the other pricks couldn’t wait to remove theirs for the cameras.

It's okay to be disappointed, but that was pathetic and disrespectful how they basically ripped their medals off as soon as they received them.

I’ve not rated them all season, that performance backs that view up. A European final and they were sh*t against second rate opposition. OGS is a fraud and Rashford needs to focus on his football more, I think his head is thinking about some prime minister election campaign these days.

never has a runners up spot in the league flattered a team more.

I found this to be really odd/arrogant. Not surprisingly, it's the people who had won the most who kept their medals on - Mata, Cavani, Matic among others.

I'm not going to lie... I enjoyed that. Both teams looked completely exhausted after about 75 minutes. No idea why Solskjaer didn't make a single sub until extra time, especially considering it was his team's 752nd game of the season and half of them were carrying injuries (Rashford most noticeably). With the lack of pace in the game in the second half and his huge portfolio of experience, it seemed like the ideal time to bring on Mata!

I found Savage's [possibly not entirely sober] boyish excitement during the shoot-out to be incredibly funny. No idea why he's getting slated, most co-commentators contribute nothing, other than those who outright make things up (e.g. Martin 'the Kite' Keown).

The game wasn't exactly of the highest quality (three shots on target), but plenty of hilarious drama at the end at Man Utd's expense, plus obviously I'm delighted for Villarreal. I looked it up - it's the equivalent of Welwyn Garden City winning the Europa League. The ghosts of Riquelme, Forlan, Senna, Pellegrini (etc.) can all finally be laid to rest.

I quite liked that the game's director was so awful BT weren't able to hide the fact that they weren't in the stadium commentating.

They had no idea if United has bought on the late subs, didn't know who was taking the next penalties with Savage constantly asking "who's left?"

The coverage was dreadful in an enjoyably cringe way, especially post match with a studio of ex United players who all played with OGS sulking but doing their best to blame everything than their mate.

A lot of people say that United has improved this season. I honestly don't see it.

They finished 2nd because pool losed all their cb and we are still not good enough after spending 200 m+. In normal season it will probably be

Pool/city

United

Us

Same as last season.

They've been carried hard by Bruno and received some very favourable VAR decisions at perfect times.

I mean they are good, pogba and Bruno are two of best creator in the world but they don't really get better.

I found an interesting stat, in the last 20 years, 15 times a Spanish club played a non-Spanish club in the CL and EL finals, 100% win rate for the Spanish teams in that scenario.

And when a Spanish club did face a Spanish club in the CL and EL finals it's still at 100%. They just never lose!

Season 4 Wow GIF by NETFLIX

(Just joking obv, that's some neat stat you got there! Pretty amazing feat for the Spanish sides)

Those VAR decisions at the start of the season saved them from being in a scrap for a top 4 finish. They would have been where we were when Lampard was sacked if they didn't get those BS VAR decisions.

Big managerial merry go round at the moment.

  • Inter Milan = Conte leaves, with Inzaghi likely to take over.
  • Real Madrid = Zidane leaves, Conte in the frame to take over
  • Juventus = Pirlo sacked. Allegri set to return as head coach.
  • Tottenham = Spurs make contact with bringing Poch back to the club.

Since @loz statement a couple of days ago Paddy Power have slashed his price from 500/1 to 8/1 favourite to take over at Tottenham.
Negotiations are said to be at a delicate stage between Levy and Loz with the £9M/year for 3 years already agreed. Levy apparently unwilling to move on upgrading Loz’s 1984 beige Austin Allegro.

@just has confirmed a Loz approach as assistant to manage the Hotspurs to which Just replied ‘f**k off’.

Alaba set to join managerless Real Madrid and sign a contract worth over £400k a week.

And Madrid wonder why they have financial problems.

If that’s true it’s just madness. They seem to be just digging a deeper and deeper hole for themselves.

Alaba will be 33 when his contract expires.

Is it little wonder half their first team is over 30?
