Of course it's harsh, not to mention utter nonsense. I don't know why he is so much worse now, but he's been great for us. Hopefully he'll rediscover his form. Edited November 21, 20223 yr by Valerie
November 21, 20223 yr Dave Beasant also had some great games for us, I feel Mendy has gone the same way, albeit without the locks!

For keepers I think a lot has to do with the preparation and gameplan from their own perspective and I think something happened in training that affected Mendy's overall decision-making and stability.

November 21, 20223 yr We have all seen the type of errors more than enough times in the last 18 months. Senegal deserved a point at least, pity one of their most famous player let them down.

He hasn’t been the same since AFCON so I doubt that it’s Chelsea training. It’s almost seems like they sent back somebody that just looks like Mendy.
November 21, 20223 yr An absolute disaster class and it’s not even headline worthy, at least for us. He will forever regret the day he didn’t sign that contract extension when we handed it to him in September.

Ah but they dont count for some moronic reason, its a weird trait with a certain set of "fans" that if a player isnt brilliant all the time then anything good they have done in the past is instantly forgotten about.
November 22, 20223 yr The weaknesses he has shown in recent months were obvious even when we signed him. I remember there was a youtube who analzed his strengths and weaknesses and was absolutely spot on. He was a good signing considering the price and his great form during our CL victory but I am not sure if he can ever get back to that level. He has been on a steady decline ever since. Not just recent months either if we remember back how he gifted Real Madrid a crucial goal last season.
November 22, 20223 yr Harsh or otherwise, the reality is: For the first 9 years of his career, Mendy was distinctly average (at best). Unheard of playing lower league French football. He then got spotted by Cech and or Lollichon and came to the best club in the world. He played for the most part behind a team that put defence first. He was superb and stood out as a fantastic signing for the service he gave in those first 12 months at Chelsea, particularly in the Champ league winning run. However, he then has been on a downward trajectory for the last 12 months for us. Constant mistakes. Constantly costing goals or chances. We have to ask the question - is this a dip a blip? Or was the superb form of 2 years ago the real blip, and he has simply reverted to mediocrity. How many teams in the EPL would he get in? My bet is not many.
November 23, 20223 yr How much of the two goals they conceded is due to Koulibably and not just Mendy? Worth to think about as we also depend on the defender.

Why not give him some time to adapt first? He hasn't played a lot and frankly wasn't even that bad when he played. People jump to conclusions regarding Koulibaly.

January 7, 20233 yr Fractured his finger in training that has required an operation so another one on the sick list I have never known any club to have has many players out it’s ridiculous
