I think the opposite, his best performances come when he's dictating from deep, whenever he's played higher up he's looked pretty ordinary.

That was a poor pen, good height for the goalkeeper - he really needed that for confidence, gutted for the laddie.

He also made an “attempt” to play the ball so wouldn’t have been sent off anyway as the penalty is deemed punishment enough.

Funny how every striker the club purchases no matter what the reputation more often than not becomes a splendid failure. Exceptions in modern era - Only Drogba Anelka & Costa. A curse or pants coaching ? 

To be fair I think that was a good save rather than a poor penalty. The lad can't buy a goal can he ?
