One of the first things done when the new owners take over should be to offer Tuchel a new long term deal. The guys been brilliant since he arrived.

I would be surprised if they don't. Along with a discussion of who he would like brought in.

Same for Emma Hayes.

The two of them have handled the media with ease and are key to bridge the transition to a new era.

Very ironic that Roman has finally found a medium/long term manager and won't get to reap the benefits.

We’re very lucky to have both Hayes & Tuchel at the club at this present moment.

This is a bit of a rant that I needed to get off my chest. I love it that whenever our guys are asked about potential signings or potential manager signings, they have always replied with no comments or we respect other clubs enough to not say anything about it. Everything is always speculation until the summer where the bid has already been tabled.

It annoys me that pundits, journalist etc can openly state/speculate that Utd is going to poach Tuchel before the season ends. Even Roman has the decency to go after managers that are going to be out of a job, already out of a job or after the season ended.

Now the rags are saying Real Madrid have their eye on him.

Yeah, good luck with that.

They don't want us having a top manager that could, if backed properly, see us past their darlings Liverpool.

FIFA approves new loan regulations

The FIFA Council has adopted new regulations aimed at limiting the number of loan signings a club can make, world soccer's governing body said on Wednesday after the Council met ahead of the 72nd Ordinary Congress in Doha, Qatar.

In a bid to foster player development and prevent the hoarding of players, clubs will be limited to eight international loan signings in and eight loaned out from next season.

The number will drop to seven the following year and then remain at six from 2024-25 onwards. The new regulations come into force from July 1.

Homegrown players and those under the age of 21, however, will remain exempt from the regulations.

The regulations also include the introduction of a minimum duration of a loan deal, which would be between two transfer windows, while the maximum duration will be one year.

FIFA added that a club may only have a maximum of three professionals loaned out to a single club and a maximum of three professionals loaned in from a single club. "Sub-loaning" players to a third club is also prohibited.

Another "Chelsea-rule" is forced. I think this is good however.

Hilarious how morons are linking that to us, as though its a problem we created. This kind of things has been a staple of the Italian clubs for years, dual ownership with loaned players all over the place. Udinese had 70 out on loan or dual ownership at one point apparently.

It's a battle between us and Will Smith for bastards of the month.😅

I mean we have 7 players total who are over 21 on loan and some of these aren't international. So we won't be affected by this at all.

Well the PL has voted in favour of 5 subs for next season. Should make TT happy, provided he stays in the PL.

Urgh, I really hate that. It becomes such a mess seeing the 2nd half go through so many stoppages. I'm fed up with all of these rule changes, it's becoming a chore to keep up with.

‘This club is close to perfect, at least for me,’ said Tuchel.

I don’t know exactly now what I would present. I would speak from my heart and speak from my experience and speak openly and honestly.’

‘Maybe it will be not so much different from what you hear from me now because I am actually very happy and very impressed with the level of support and of organisation and the mentality here in the club, and in the club I mean here at Cobham, of course, because this is where we are on a daily basis.‘

On official club site.

Great to hear this.

Thomas Tuchel does not believe Chelsea needs big alterations to the football structure when potential new owners arrive, but insists he remains open to the idea of change, as there is always room for improvement.

Our head coach was responding to suggestions he might meet the various parties bidding to become the club’s new owners, and questions around what he might ask them and advice he would offer to those who could be in charge of the Blues in the future.

While he is clear that he is happy with the structure in place at Chelsea currently, he believes it is not his place to get involved during the bidding process, preferring to wait until things are resolved and more certain before speaking to any new owners about the plans they may have moving forward.

‘This club is close to perfect, at least for me,’ said Tuchel. ‘I don’t know exactly now what I would present. I would speak from my heart and speak from my experience and speak openly and honestly.

Maybe it will be not so much different from what you hear from me now because I am actually very happy and very impressed with the level of support and of organisation and the mentality here in the club, and in the club I mean here at Cobham, of course, because this is where we are on a daily basis.

‘So I’m not sure if they need to hear this from me and if they will talk to me. I’m not even sure if I’m so keen to be a huge part in this process. Once the decision is made maybe we will know their ideas and then try to adjust and get known to each other but it’s not the time I think.

‘I think right now it’s not my role to step up and convince anybody and have preferences. Simply I’m not here for this and I’m happy that I’m not involved in this. If my opinion is needed, it is needed when we adjust our expectations and when the decision is made and then we get known to the new owners and get an idea how the new structure is, and if there is a new structure.’

However, although the German is very happy with the way things are at Chelsea right now and how he has been working since arriving at Stamford Bridge in January last year, he is adamant he and everyone else involved need to remain open to the prospect of change.

‘We should be open for whatever comes because change is not always a negative. So it’s our responsibility then to turn it around, to do even better. We can always improve.

‘Me, myself, I am a bit sad that it cannot continue like it existed because it was very strong and a very good fit for me personally. I felt very good in this kind of structure so this will change and then we will see.

‘We need to ask the new owners, we need to ask the new people in charge, what they think should change, how it changes and we need to adapt. This is what we will do.’

Tuchel also assured supporters that the continuing uncertainty around the club’s future will not affect his work, as he remains relaxed and focused on the job at hand by concentrating solely on things which are within his control.

‘I am calm about it, because I cannot change it,’ he explained. ‘Some things in life, if you cannot change it, just let it go and do the things you can influence and do them in the best way, and this is what we do at the moment.

‘I try to be calm and I am in general not the person to worry too much, and especially not to worry too much about things I have zero influence on.’

Got the team all wrong today, but I won't blame him for their sh*t attitude from the first minute. You had Loftus-Cheek giving a foul away in the first minute in a dangerous area, the defense losing the ball almost every time they tried to play up the field in the first 20 minutes, Mendy gifting them chances to score. Then on the attack.......well, they didn't look like they could be bothered. We had Rudiger attempting 50 long range efforts because not a single midfielder or forward could put a single bit of quality together. Ziyech and Mount couldn't beat a single man or cross the ball, Havertz was barely involved, Kante was getting beaten in every dual and couldn't play a forward ball to save his life. Loftus-Cheek couldn't even be bothered to sprint and Werner and Alonso were just complete dogsh*t.

RLC and Werner are good for a filler role in order to save some other players for an important match. They don't have the quality nor do they fit in any of our systems.

With Chilwell injured we're basically 2 years behind with no proper LB, Alonso lost even the little pace he had so playing a back 4 here was a big blunder.

Totally agreed ,apart from part of it isn’t down to Tommy. We all saw the incredibly poor first half, Reece being on the pitch before the referee arrived at the start of the sound half, suggests he knew the faults. Today though he delayed changes and we paid the penalty.

a back 4 was definitely surprising today and left us exposed numerous times.

bringing Reece on to left back also made no sense though you could see he desperately needs game time.

When I saw the lineup I thought it was going to be 3 at the back as usual, with Mount in the front 3 and Ziyech at RWB. Then some minutes later when I checked it became clear to me that we're changing the formation. Which was a terrible mistake.

Hopefully we're going to learn from this. Alonso can't play in a back 4. RLC looks terrible even alongside Kante. Mount and Ziyech playing on the same side with Ziyech as a wing back? Lots of things to take into consideration...

Really really poor all round and a big chunk of that has to fall on Tuchel, massively underestimated Brentford which is surprising given how many problems they caused us earlier in the season. Awful back 4, RLC not up to scratch and the less said about Werner the better.

Got it all wrong today, from team selection and tactics and yet again didn't make the changes early enough.  Should have binned Werner half way through the first half and made a change in midfield at HT at the very least.  Not the first time he's missed the mark.  Jose would not have put up with that sh*t in the first 20 minutes and yanked one or two players and changed his game plan.
