One of my favorite players at Chelsea. Unfortunately he got homesick. He had everything. Excellent finisher,  dribbler and good work rate. I frankly wouldnt even compare him with Lukaku. This article below has a few good highlights.

Thanks, he was really a great striker.

Do you know what is utterly depressing about the Lukaku situation? We genuinely all thought he’d returned from Italy a completely new player; he was never going to return and go back to his former self was he? Surely not?

Aside from the honeymoon period at the start of the season, I can’t help but think that we’re going to be left with the most underwhelming, undesirable, couldn’t hit a barn door frontline out of the entirety of all of our competitors; there is f**king no chance we spend big again this Summer or even 18 months down the line due to the ridiculous amount spent on this door stop. Honestly, yet another absolute stinker of a transfer to add to the the rest of them.

I don’t think many appreciate here but the reason why we’ve sat where we have and won in Europe is purely down to Tuchel and the coaching, alone. The guy hasn’t got a single forward in double figures. Stinking for him.

Speaking of ex players hypothetically playing for us right now, Eidur Gudjohnsen in his prime would be a dream for that fluid 9 role.

Aww don’t do that; had me welling up over here reminiscing about how disgustingly good he was. If Eidur was in the modern game he’d be worth an absolute fortune. He would have been the missing jigsaw piece for a Pep at City, Eidur was the definition of a hybrid number 9 who had the f**king lot. What a player.

I'm confused when it comes to us not having an attacker with at least 10 goals in the league, since Tammy we simply can't make anyone work as the striker.

Surely a proven striker like Lukaku must find a way to get at the very least 15 PL goals by the end of  the season. I know it goes both ways, Tuchel's coaching may contribute to this small output of our strikers but at the same time Lukaku does have a huge reputation to defend here regardless of our tactic.

Currently he's on a goal per every 165minutes which means that Broja, Sterling and even a 35 year old Vardy are doing better than him. He simply must show up against Man City.

And his record for us was like one goal every three and a half games.

Him, Drogba and Hazard are big reason's why I can never get onboard but with judging forwards solely on goal stats.

For all our issues in attack we're actually on course to beat the goal tallys of all of Jose's title winning teams and have figures close to if not on par with Conte's. And in those teams we had a guarenteed 20 goals from either Lampard or Costa.

It's why I wasn't that worried in the summer, we may not have one player who can get 20 yet (unless Rom bucks his ideas up or Jorginho gets loads of pens) but I strongly fancy most of our regulars to end up with around 5-10 and when multiple players chip in with those numbers it starts to add up.

As long as we keep playing very2 slow, it is going to be  difficult for our current forward group to prosper.

Okay, I have to ask, why does this keep happening to all of your posts? I have resisted the urge to ask for over a year now, but I need to know 😆

It's been bugging me as well, just like the posts from someone (forgot who) Where Every Word Starts With A Capital.

Yeah i noticed that4.

Depressing thinking we’ve splashed out £100m for a player who isn’t working for us - for whatever reason. For that type of money, we need him to be delivering the goods.

What's pisses me off the most is there's no accountability with him. We appear to be back to him starting and lasting the 90 unconditionally which is just infuriating.

while were bashing Lukaku, I've never been fond of his personality. I cant stand when a player whinges to his teammates when he doesn't get a pass. every where he's gone he's done this. It makes me feel like hes too selfish. No one rates Lukaku as much as he does either.

Hell no. We have little chance of getting a result at Etihad as it is, with Lukaku in the lineup we'll have zero chance against Pep's lot, it's like playing with ten men. His inability to trap the ball and poor hold up play will result in us being under City pressure non stop. There's no upside in playing him against a team like City, we'll have to go with false nine, run for 90 minutes and hope it works out in our favour.

He has been like this for years. Typical, stick your arms out and complain to your teammate. Hakimi was on the end of it so many times when playing for Inter. Sometimes it actually makes me laugh because you know he will always moan. I mean it is good to see that he has a passion and constantly wants to score but yeah must be annoying for his team mates.

Jimmy Floyd Hasslebaink was exactly the same. He'd be moaning in the pre-game warm up. But he knew where the goal was.

The thing is come the end of the season, I have no doubt Lukaku will be 20 goals plus. I am going to stick my hand out now and say this and if he was fit for all of the season, I reckon he would of already had around 15. I still have not given up on him and think he can come good but he has a lot to work on.

Maybe things will turnaround, but I feel like Lukaku's recent comments have broken something even though he's apologised.

I don't have the same level of respect and trust toward him as I used to, and I would be looking to cut our losses with him in the summer if we can afford to do so.

People are complaining to much. You bought a 9 but you don’t feed him or your wingers is Odoi who can’t take on his man and rather pass backward and on the orher wing :Ziyech love to go more for own glory and shoot at every opportunity when he can pass…. Mount out of form and bad decision making in the final. If you can’t play to his strength then atleast give him ball and not only bad one so that you can go for you own glory when he pass back to you.

look at this belgium stat:

this was all of our players domination of the best belgium players outside belgium imagine they were still here combinations between lukaku vs debruine vs hazar

I would be surprised if Tuchel doesn't start the game with him, despite everything you said.
