Look at the Sanchez challenge for the Silva goal. He tries to play the ball with his foot. Not that Tierney or VAR would have penalised him if we hadn't scored.

Totally agree!

Night and day compared to the scandalous decisions given in Liverpool's favour yesterday but seems to have got similar media coverage.

Just visited the Fighting Cocks forum.  What a mess of a site - I spent 5 minutes trying to actually find the match thread and there are adverts and videos popping up all over the bloody place.  Well I read a bit, quite a few thought Doherty could have been sent off.  Most think there's a conspiracy against them and their goal should have stood though there were a few who were arguing against that.  Can't be bothered to carry on to see what they say about wrestling Dave.  But there are a couple of people on there who are really bitter and deranged calling all Chelsea fans Nazis and wishing every one of us a violent death.  Nice.

Can we play you every week?

That place is a total dumpster fire.

The levels of vitriol, swearing and general nastiness are hard to believe...

That is until you remember that they support Tottenham, I'd be a coarse deranged lunatic too if I had to put up with that.

Fighting Cocks is right 🙄

This system suit our attacker more. Suddenly all of them look better. Ziyech has not been this good since Lampard days, CHO looks like a menace on the wing, mount keep attacking that right channel and Lukaku playing like a focal point. Everything looks good.

But like what I have been saying for 2 season, if we switch to back 4 and attack faster Jorgi is a massive liability. You can tell today, many times he needed to go to the wing to cover and he could not go back to the middle because there is no support from the wb and it was too difficult for him.

In the long run you're probably right but right but given we're out of the title race I'll rather the league games are enjoyable first and foremost. And this formation seems to be the way we can fit Lukaku in and be enjoyable/fluid to watch still.

Well, that was enjoyable - always nice to beat Spurs but four times in one season, 8-0 on aggregate is even better!

My thoughts.  Like many I'm sure, I groaned when I saw Ziyech named in the team but from the start he was like a different player.  Mason was more like his old self too.  CHO was a little frustrating, losing the ball a bit too often but obviously his cross to Ziyech was great.  Thought Doherty could (should?) have been sent off for his stamp on Sarr (not that I thought it was necessarily malicious but it was reckless).  We were lucky to be given a foul on Thiago from Kane.  Ziyech's goal was sublime.  Thought there would be at least one sending off - it was getting a bit feisty.  Definitely a penalty when Dave was wrestled to the ground.

That place is full of bitterness and anger, and they think we are a horrible lot. I can say for certain that a lot of the posts on there would never be accepted on this forum.

It's after victories over Spurs that I realise that one of the things I miss about work is going in and winding up the Spurs fans I worked with.

My boss is a Spurs fan but he’s long since lost interest so I don’t even get that pleasure :JC_doubledown:

That's annoying but I guess it must be very easy to lose interest in Spurs given how Spursy they become each season.

The number of beautiful goals we scored against them in the past few years is unreal.

- Alonso's free kick

- Matic in the FA Cup

- Hazard in the 'battle of the Bridge'

- Alonso once again, in 2020

- Willian in 2019

- Pedro, under Conte

- And of course, Ziyech

Long may it continue.

Sheva & JFH too.

Just remembered Maka’s half volley (although we lost that one).

Still though a Maka half volley from the edge of the box.

As much as it stung to lose that cushioned the blow a lot at the time for me. Smile on his face was magic.
