Same script as last year .. prone to counter attacks .. weak and labored in possession.. depending on worldies to score.

Well in fairness we have been more aggressive this half and created a lot more...

Better 2nd half...don't care about the result...we just need to put Arsenal in their place next week.

They are much further in their preseason I think..

Thank god it is preseason or I would be screaming at Reese’s stupid play

Bettinelli could have done better with the back pass too. It wasn't moving that fast and he watched it go past him.

I don't think it matters who plays as the focal point they aren't getting the ball.  TT wants to play safe and is never brave going forward.  Will be interesting to see who gets into the starting 11 and how he sets up...my fear that its going to be more of the same.  He said we want to be the team that no one wants to play against....probably because we will send them to sleep

It's more the chances he misses, some of his hold up play is good but his runs aren't up to par and he doesn't put away enough chances

I think he'll do well; unless the main midfielders are injured or out of form I think he knows he'll be sat on the bench but will get minutes now that there is 5 subs...assuming that TT even uses them.

I reckon we'll be pleasantly surprised, he offers something different to our current crop

Second half certainly we looked quite on top.. but it was also only club America.. I just don’t want us to ruin another season playing in a non progressive tactical setup that fails to maximise our advantage and minimise our weaknesses

I'm afraid to say it will be more of the same next season. The fresh start honeymoon approach gives you hope but our style of play and our enjoyment watching Chelsea is down to our players being actually good as it is Tuchels tactics.

We are all entertained when we are winning so unless we sign another dangerous forward  or Kai and Timo contribute massively on the goals and assists front, it's going to be the same painful Chelsea for us.

Any reason why Gilmour and kovacic didn't play. Also Gallagher isn't suited to the pivot. Just my 2 cents

True, Gallagher should be up front behind Kai, left Mount and right Gallagher. Leave the deep midfield to Kovacic and Jorginho.

I think people read too much into friendlies. Liverpool lost 4-0 to United the other day, do you really think they are worried?

100%

And it’s only our first game, they’ve been playing weekly since early June.

I'm not going to enjoy another season of tedious, boring passing for the sake of it, hoping James or Mount can score, then clinging on hoping the opposition don't score from the chances they create.

Fair comment, albeit winning is a great habit to get into !

I thought Ampadu looked good when he came on. certainly making a claim for inclusion in next season's squad.

He is going to be like a new signing if given a fair chance.

Where would you stick the 5 wingers then? Not convinced his unconventional formation will get the best of out of Sterling especially with Kovacic and Jorginho behind him. Hell of a step down going from Bernardo Silva & De Bruyne to this.
