They were there last season. People just didn't want to admit it, but our results were not very good from January onwards. It was fortunate that other teams were having terrible seasons because it saved us in getting top four.

We need severe work in the summer and, somehow, we managed to make the team worse.

Its funny because there were a lot of people happy to see Rudiger and Christensen leave but its pretty clear their current replacements are all either downgrades or injury prone. Cucu is also a downgrade on Alonso. Basically, our team has only got worse over the summer.

List them.

Without even mentioning the top managers or managers like Poch, Enrique and Bielsa that are free

the bottom half has managers like Moyes, Unai Emery, Lopetegui, Rodgers 4 managers that have indisputably had better careers then Potter.

I wouldn't want any of the 7 desperately but I'd take all 7 over Potter

Potter really is as bottom of the barrel as it gets, it's like if a team at the top hired Ian Holloway when his Blackpool was getting media hype a decade ago

Exactly. Imagine if Tuchel had had a half decent striker in his team. Thats a frightening prospect. He won the champions league with Havertz and Werner up front! No other manager does that…none!

He choose to sign Lukaku instead of waiting until one became avaliable (ala Klopp/VVD).

I loved Tuchel and didn't want him sacked but his transfer policy has contributed to this, and I say this while I still have hope for Sterling.

When players across the board aren't playing up to their abilities, that's on the manager.

Otherwise WTF does a manager do? He maximizes the players he has. It's not one player having a poor match. It's player after player match after match.

Exactly what was happening in the latter months of Tuchel's era yet people think he should come back.

This squad lacks strength of character and massively lacks will to win and leadership. That's on Tuchel for now

No passion or belief in the manager and Chelsea. It hurts so much to say that.  These players are on high wages and doing eff all to warrant why they deserve it.

Fulham are crap Potter has dragged us down to this level breaking all sorts of the wrong records and now putting us in danger of relegation battle. Its  time to admit the new owners are totally responsible for this mess they do ell the hiring and firing

Bollocks, upset as the next fan after all its the biggest derby in football.

I don't mind mid table mediocracy if there was a plan, just don't seem to be one, this signing anyone who is willing is really getting my goat.

don't get me wrong, I am ok with how we are, there is no club that has been through what we have and come out the other side I just want a plan.

It is what it is ... next ...........

And he won the Champions League final. Even the best managers lose matches

Yeah Di Matteo won the Champions League final too - its called the past.  Fact is THIS season Tuchel lost 0-3 to a poor Leeds team and also to a god-awful Southampton team - and he lost both games with a first team AND 11 MEN!

Tuchel was doing little better with a healthier squad. The make up of the squad is wrong, not in terms of talent but mentality. Potter actually referred to it yesterday - who are the leaders in the squad? To succeed, there needs to be a mix. We do not have that - just a load of followers.

Rubbish Tuchel dealt with more and finished top 4.

It’s supposed to be a derby. Not one single clown put in a display or affection for the club to win.

Mount should be ashamed. Like all the other players.

Running out of words about this. Bad luck about the injury, and a freak incident of a red card to our best player on the field. Poor pass, Felix got a bad touch, then couldn't help himself to chase the ball. Of course he shouldn't have done that, but he was trying, and unfortunately got it wrong. Headline will be on Felix, but let's not blame it all on him, we were shocking. Fulham really didn't do anything special to win the game. 2 very poor goals, even with 10 the second goal should never have happened, 2 defenders at a GK couldn't bother the attacker for a simple finish. Back 3 was just mad, on one side Azpi couldn't attack, on the other side Hall couldn't defend. We should have gone back to 4 at HT, even when the score was level we had chances to do it. Instead Potter waited, then the unfortunate couple of minutes that changed the game. The rush of subs in the end was pure comedy and desperation, I don't recall we string 4-5 passes together after that

what a mess

really hard to see how we get out of this run; no one looks like they have any belief

it sounds absurd but I'll be relieved if we get to 40 points - hard to see where the next 15 points are coming from

I think Potters luck HAS to change at some point - once we at least some of our better players back AND if we can see out a game with 11 men we will start to see an uptick.  Surely Potters luck can't go on like this?  What is important is that we stick with him and address the real issues here, we need a team overhaul thats for sure.

I think sacking him was a mistake too, he was simply suffering from one of the issues Potter has - average team, unfortunately for Potter its gotten even worse because none of our best players are even playing AND now it seems we can't seem to finish a game with 11 men!

He’s lost the dressing room. When you succeed a manager who is in the elite of managers in coaching, tactics, man management and media handling, the players dont want to play for a fraud who they can clearly see day in day out is massively inferior in every aspect and metric. When the players are rudderless, directionless and look to the sidelines and see Potters blank and clueless facial expression its done, finished. He offers absolutely nothing.

He did? What did Tuchel deal with that was 'more' exactly!!?  And he would NOT be finishing anywhere near top 4 this season - not even with a fully fit squad!!

How the f*ck can 10 first teamers out, a dogsh*te squad and Felix getting sent off be Potters fault!!!! He's only had 3 months with the team and NOT once has he been able to pick anything close to his best 11!   Even then the best 11 are nothing special!!! If you want somebody to blame blame whoever has been in charge of purchasing players over the last 3 years!  Even then we've had bans!

Sounds like a lot of excuses. This team won the Champions League 18 months ago, was easily making top 4 under Tuchel, and now we look like a relegation fodder.

OK so Tuchel lost some matches and he was sacked. Sack Potter now too, this isn't the first one he lost.

Potter being an albatross doesn't negate Tuchel wasn't doing well and underachieving.

But I'd say many of our players if they were on other teams would suddenly look better. So it again goes back to the manager and leadership.

Team as a whole looks like they have no idea what the system is or what they're supposed to do.

I always see people say this but is it really true? Other than James, Kante and Silva, most of our players would be benchwarmers on most of our rival's team. Our squad is just expensive it isn't quality.

Well, most of our players are internationals for their countries. many are cup winners, league winners etc. definitely they have some quality in them compared to other teams. Many underperforming currently but it's really for the coach to get the best out of that group, get the line-up selection and tactics right.  I do miss Tuchel. We definitely wouldn't be in this situation with him at the helm.  He would eventually figure things out.

I think Poch would have been a much better choice for us.
