Enzo Maresca - Chelsea "Head Coach" *Official NOW SACKED*

Featured Replies

Good riddance.

He had a great chance here. Came in with zero top flight experience, and was given the keys to the castle. An exciting young team, with some of the best up and coming players around. Owners with deep pockets willing to spend big, and a team that had been stagnant, and in need of an overhaul - but with no real aspirations to win the league in the short term...

and immense chance....

...and he shat the bed. Rather than play to the strengths of the players, let them cut loose and have a go, he instead has us playing ultra negative dross, the same that many managers before him had us playing. Rather than forming an identity of our own, he copied others. Rather than being brave and giving the future a chance, he stuck with more expensive options.

The SDs are what they are. the model is what it is. But Fraudesca had a chance to do something new and different - and he f**ked it up.

Any manager that says Jackson is their Dream Striker - is NOT Chelsea material.

Let it be known this bloke bottled the league with A**x with a 9 point lead.

Makes Rosenior looking appealing.

How can anyone say they don't want Rosenior?

He's the bloke who has been ' developing " our young Chelsea loan players for Blueco isn't he ?? 😂😂

Shambles FC . f**king ownership will continue with their"process " . We're going nowhere with this lot , more teenagers arriving every season , Managers coming and going ..

Record amounts spent and nowhere near the elite club they bought

My worry with Maresca being sacked or leaving, was who the ownership would recruit. I have no trust in their decisions to hire anyone who has been successful or done well previously. It will be rinse and repeat. Say what you like about Maresca, but he won two trophies and made top four with this squad. Yes, it was certainly helped massively by having Cole Palmer and starting the season well last season, but still. Unfortunately, the results and performances have been very poor this season and this was inevitable without a massive turnaround in form, which didn't look likely to come.

Be shocked if its not Rosenior at this point.

Glasner, De Zerbi, Fabregas, all not being considered.

Reports new manager will be in place very soon, would also lean towards Rosenior or a free agent.

Out of the frying pan and into the fire

Any manager who is given Jackson, and then Delap as their main striker is doomed anyway.

The big flaw in Saunders argument though.......Maresca was completely on board with this himself and pushing the owners vision. He signed up to this.

Sorry, but I'm not having this whole pity party with Maresca now.

I read a tweet that Maresca personally spoke to Delap and convinced him to come to Chelsea, so to say he had zero input on signings seems odd. Also, he signed a five year contract a little while ago, so things must have gone terribly downhill for this to happen so quickly. I do wonder if this started when Colwill got injured and the club told him to use what he had, because as I said previously, our performances have been very poor ever since the start of the season against Palace.

The name Dean Saunders was enough to decide against watching that video, he was not a fly on the wall in the boardroom or any other Blue space.

I can hear the board right now saying Rosenior already knows Santos and Emehga and currently working with Penders and the Ecuadorian lad. What’s not to love?

I honestly do not care who the manager is as long as they do not do silly things like playing Gusto as a attacking midfielder.

The bar is really low for me, I am not asking for an elite manager. I just want simple football with players in their right roles. This team would suit a counter attacking manager so that would also be a bonus too.

Let’s face it, most would be an upgrade. Some of Enzo’s tactical decisions and line ups were self sabotage stuff.

As bad as the ownership is (and it’s been a shambles since day 1) they were left with little choice. Was their own doing hiring him in the first place
