Henderson is old enough that he and Alonso were probably teammates at Liverpool. Would be nice to have a player in the squad again who is older than me.

It was more in the way you were so adamant he would add no experience or leadership to the team rather than his ability.

To me it's a low risk signing. Free transfer, bags of experience/leadership and still has legs to do a job on the rare occasion he is needed on the pitch.

Yep have to say similarly not a big fan of JH signing but will happily revert to hat-eating mode if proved wrong.

There is a clip circulating of Rogers and Bellingham telling a reporter about the impact Henderson has had on all of them.

Again, this makes much more sense if he will be getting a coaching role the following season.

I said something similar, if we need someone in training or on the sidelines what are the coaches doing?

Someone with experience on the pitch however who will actually get game time like Stones then great.

If your telling JH is going to get game time in our midfield then wtf are we doing?

I think Henderson will also get game time. He's not useless. He's a solid reliable 6/10 player who you could bring on with 10 minutes to go to see out a game.

And he will work hard in training, he will lift everyone else, he will lead by example.

Not sure how good Henderson is at closing games out or what his influence could bring, but worth remembering we've dropped the most points from winning positions in the league.

It's not a waste cause Henderson still has legs and coaches can't enter the pitch and affect the game directly like a player can.
