February 5, 20188 yr I don't think it's a coincidence cahill has started all 6 defeats in the league this season. Just not good enough anymore, positionally he's all over the place, and with luiz next to him, it's a disaster waiting to happen.
February 5, 20188 yr He's the worst centre back at the club. Good player over the years but he's finished.
February 6, 20188 yr Let's leave his playing and talk about his captaincy. Where has he been the past few weeks? He has left the talking to players like Courtois, Cesc and Azpi. And we gave him the f**king captain's arm band? One of Conte's worst decisions imo (if it was solely his decision). Retreats back into his shell when we're under. True captain, that!
February 23, 20188 yr Stories emerged this week that a place in the England world cup squad is under threat for Cahill due to poor form this season. Left out of the starting line up against Barca, our biggest game of the season to date. What do we reckon, is this Cahill's last season at Chelsea? He's 32 now, arguably should have another 2/3 good seasons in him but are we likely to put faith in Rudiger, Christensen and maybe Zouma?
February 23, 20188 yr I'd keep him for his experience and get rid of Luiz. But he shouldn't be first choice any more.
February 23, 20188 yr I think he’s one of those players the club will show a bit of respect to and let him decide his future. Love him or hate him he’s given a lot to the club and they’re normally good to players like that.
February 23, 20188 yr He is good experience and to have in the changing room if its only for the remaining 15 months on his contract. He shouldnt be expecting a starting place. Been off that pace for a year now. Edited February 23, 20188 yr by Radford10

February 24, 20188 yr One of the, almost certainly. Probably Luiz. But I'd be very surprised if both went at the same time.
February 24, 20188 yr He can stay as club captain, play it cup games against the smaller team's, help youngsters but he's a major liability in any other game where we will have to defend well
February 24, 20188 yr I think we will want him to stay but whether he does will depend on what other offers he gets.

I don’t adhere to the sentiment angle, that’s taking up finances that should be going to a current / upcoming player.
March 15, 20188 yr So, not picked for the current England Squad. Not that I'm surprised at all, as he doesn't play regularly enough, and when he does, his form is average at best. My only disappointment is that without Cahill, Chelsea are now un-represented for England, which hasn't happen for a number of years now! Hoping by the time the next international tournament comes around, some of our youth are playing first team football. (Hopefully for us!)
March 15, 20188 yr No, No, No! Let our players rest during the International breaks. Too many times they come back with knocks.

Unfortunately, bar the odd few, English players aren’t of a high quality anymore. The only decent ones are at rival clubs and/or would cost a fortune.

Never world class but a fantastic servant to Chelsea and a very good defender in his prime who gave absolutely everything he had in every game. Something I cannot say about Luiz. Both need to go in the summer. As does another spent force Cesc Fabregas.

March 16, 20188 yr What purpose does getting rid of him serve? His wages aren't very high, he's happy being backup and working for his spot and he's been here a long time now. Keep him around as a reward for his loyalty and service, not like he's complete crap either he can still play a part.

He's the guy that needs to play regularly in order to get into rhythm, not play every now and then. He was shocking against Palace.

Hes good enough to play early round cup games or the odd match, plus we cant discount the influence he has on the dressing room and the youngsters at the club. As the 5th/6th choice in a back 3 i dont see why you wouldnt keep him on for another year at least. Only guessing but id say he'd be content with that role also.
