January 20, 20224 yr Can’t get a game against Elche in the Copa del Rey but someone a section of the fans want him back.

There are so many things that count when it comes to players working out for their teams. Mata was player of the season for us but it never worked out for him at Utd. Werner, Havertz & Lukaku were tearing up their leagues but it hasn't worked out for them here. Torres was an expensive failure, Azpi cost peanuts but has been a resounding success. Even Jose hasn't enjoyed the level of success after he left the 2nd time. Point is that at Chelsea Hazard got an environment to thrive in & he was the best player in the league. Maybe bringing him back gives him the same environment in which he can be at his best. But the important reason is that even at 50% he won't be a downgrade on our current attacking players.
January 21, 20224 yr What I wouldn’t give to have a Michael Essien in his prime at the club right now
January 21, 20224 yr Vintage hazard goal yesterday, wouldn’t trust any of our forwards to score that: CHO - would take 30 seconds to compose himself before blasting it over the bar Ziyech - would try and cross it to nobody and still hit the goalie Havertz - look for a pass Werner- side netting Pulisic - would try and take it round the goalie again Lukaku - wouldn’t have bothered running for it in the first place
January 21, 20224 yr Between paying 30M for Dembele and 30M for Eden at 31, I'd go for our Belgian every single time and the resale value be damned, it's not as if we sell our players to much profit anyway (guess Eden is an exception as well). Or whenever we do we end up buying them again. Plus I'd rather see Barca getting into more financial trouble, més que un club my arse.

Add in CP and the treatment room would be so stacked Eva would want back lol
January 21, 20224 yr The goal for anyone that didn't see it, nice pace shown by Eden maybe he's still got it after all 😉
January 22, 20224 yr See what happens when you put him in blue. He's just different class to our current forwards. Body strength, control, direct with a purpose. Damn I miss that. Edited January 22, 20224 yr by Luca Vialli

January 23, 20224 yr I would dearly love him to come back, and to be a success. Unlikely? Perhaps, but by no means beyond the realms of possibility.

January 24, 20224 yr I wonder if he would be a good mentor for some of our younger wingers, if we were able to get him back at a bargain price. Certainly there is plenty they could learn from him. He might also bring out the best in his Belgian team mate.
February 10, 20224 yr Before I make my point I just want to clarify the acknowledgement both Phillipe and Eden are different players but are in or were in similar circumstances. I'm an advocate of Eden returning I've made that clear, do I think he's the answer to all our attacking problems? No, but I do think he could be a valuable asset not just in unlocking defences (with his passing not so much dribbling which he can still do) but also coaching the younger players how to be better attackers like Silva does for our defenders. My main point though is looking at how well Phillipe has assimilated back to the Premier league would people really not be interested in taking a similar gamble with Hazard? A loan for a season and if it works then make it permanent, if it doesn't then like with Bale and spurs last season we part ways again. Coutinho is not Hazard, but they both struggled in La Liga and played their best football in the Prem. I think it would be interesting if Hazard could have similar effect on our attack as Phillipe for Villa. Just some food for thought 🤔
February 11, 20224 yr Is this the equivalent of being in a moment of weakness and thinking you should get back with an ex partner?
February 15, 20224 yr I would have loved us to get Coutinho on loan. He was the best fit ( goal scoring wise) for that our midfield. He is better than Mount and would have been a sweet addition to our attacking and goal scoring woes with his ability on freekicks, long range shots etc. I look in with envy at what he is doing in Villa and ark my words, he will still get better has he gets games consistently at Villa. If we can negotiate a deal for Hazard on loan at a reduced cost for a season, i think we should do it. As old and injury prone as he is, I can bet that he will still score more goals than Werner
February 16, 20224 yr If we can sign off on a £4.3 million loan fee and £200K a week wages for frigging Saul, then you would have thought that a similar deal for Hazard would be a no brainer LOL

Even assuming Madrid are willing to pay half of that, I wouldn’t want to be the Chelsea manager managing him. We already have a non functioning attacking unit, throw in a former club legend who is now on the wane & injury prone. The manager would be under pressure to squeeze something out of him, it’s just a recipe for disaster.
