November 2, 20196 yr That may have been Zouma's best game for us so far. A dominant defensive display today.

He's been excellent the last 3 or 4 games since his shaky start, really commanding and solid and made some outstanding blocks tonight. I think he's made himself first choice to play alongside rudiger when he returns.

He's going to have to play really well to keep Zouma and Tomori out. I'm loving that the players are stepping up and bringing competition to the squad. For a few seasons now we could pick our strongest 11 easily, now everybody is fighting for a spot in the team and it's harder to pick our strongest 11. Even Kante is going to have to perform at his best to get ahead of Jorginho and Kovacic. Edited November 2, 20196 yr by Scott Harris
November 2, 20196 yr 10/10 performance, amazing block on the opening on the 2nd half after Emerson gave the ball away. And won everything in the air , even his passing was very good.
November 2, 20196 yr @Zeta You'll be glad to know I have not forgotten my assurance early on to you that Zouma will prove himself as our best centre back by the end of the season, a claim you likely thought impossible to be proved correct. 😛 (It's only November, but let me gloat a little... Have to admit though it wasn't too long ago I had started to lose hope!) Edited November 2, 20196 yr by GhostOfDembaBa

Have to admit though it wasn't too long ago I had started to lose hope!) I used to highly rate Kurt under Mourinho until he got that injury and was out for half the season. Since then he has never been the same player. I didn't follow him much on his loans at Stoke and Everton was it? But from what I've gathered he was nothing special and was still not on the level he was when he was 20. Wasn't impressed with him at all early in the season and that United game just done it for me, looked completely out of his depth but in the past 4-5 weeks, he has been exceptional. I'm actually shocked at how good he has been, if he keeps playing like this Rudiger isn't going to get back into this team.
November 3, 20196 yr I think he was immense yesterday good on him on showing his quality - pace and power were already there but his decision making has also improved a lot.. more of this please!

November 6, 20196 yr The amazing run would be mindblowing if he could have finished it. He even added a couple of stepovers such was his confidence.
November 6, 20196 yr Top notch last night, don't think he put a foot wrong. That ridiculous box-to-box run at the beginning of the second half made me smile. His performances are growing as the season goes on. Very impressive considering he is the senior player in our current starting centre back partnership.

Watching the replay, I wish he'd continued into the box. He could easily had been brought down, and he'd have been more likely to get a shot on target than from where he blazed it over.

November 10, 20196 yr I think he might be back to his best now, Been fantastic lately. Have to mention Tomori too, think they have both been sublime for a good while now.

November 10, 20196 yr There was a moment too in the second half where James was tackled deep in the right back area and Zouma was one nicked it very cleanly back off the player one Vs one facing him. He's in great form atm.
November 10, 20196 yr Must be the quickest backline in the league. No one can knock it and outrun Zouma/Tomori. I'm happy to admit i was wrong for once about Zouma. First time for everything i guess.
