Zouma - If Kurt's Happy, I'm Happy!

Featured Replies

Zouma is looking really poor. He was never this 'panicky'. Every time someone comes at him with the ball he looks like he has no idea or confidence in doing the right thing, let alone his shakiness in possession and is positioning/marking.

I don't know what's happened but he needs some serious one-to-one help at the moment.

Why on earth did he get picked over Christensen?

I  have a hunch that Christeansen wasn't fully fit. In his last match i remember him talking to the medics about a discomfort, therefore probably Lampard decided not to risk him.

Zouma though looked uncomfortable from first half, i commented on match day thread that he was all over the place. I would have risked christinsen second half when we conceded immediately.

Our centre backs in order if it was up to me.

Azpilicueta before Zouma any day. As some have argued before, bring on a Reece and put Azpilicueta as CRB. Otherwise, happy with your ranking, but Tomori will become better than Christensen (imo).

I had a bad feeling when the time sheet is out, last thing we need was a change in central defence.  I don't know what's the story with Christensen, if he's injured then we had no other choices. All the defenders were poor today, I don't think Zouma had much of a chance with the  goals, can't afford conceded by-line crosses like them,, But again, he deserved the blame because he was at the wrong place and the wrong time.

Lampard said in his presser after the game that he simply gave Tomori the nod because he'd impressed in training, nothing to do with an injury to Christensen. It was a bad call, not because Tomori played badly, but because Christensen has been far more impressive than Zouma. It was an alarmingly poor call by Lampard and calls into question his judgement.

No we didn't - utter bullsh*t. It was 15 goals.

Calm down for chrissakes!

My 63 year old memory is not as good as it was especially when remembering events from nigh on 15 years ago.

You are, of course, correct, my figure was the away goals conceded; but you already know that so a simple correction by you would've sufficed.

My apologies for raising your blood pressure and I can assure you I will say 3 Hail Marys tonight whilst wearing a horsehair shirt as punishment.

Why does Lampard not rate Christensen? What does he see in Zouma that we can't?

I really rate Frank highly as a person and athlete and with a bit more time he can adjust things. Pls just don't be stubborn he sure knows better.

It's 1 game he hasn't played him, calm down.

Yeah. But why then he choosed Christensen and not Zouma.

Apperently Tomori impressd him in training and Christensen was the one to sit it out. Somehow he rates Zouma higher.

Yeah, maybe he does. He sees Zouma every day in training and he also played better than Christensen in the last 2 games. He hits a long pass better than AC and he is a bigger threat at set pieces.

Not really sure what other people are seeing where Zouma is 100% an awful player and AC has been incredible. Is it just based on that 30 minutes against united?

How is Zouma more a threat on set pieces? AC and Zouma have Zero goals between them.

Yes it is based on the United match and also how he looks always on the edge on everything. AC is for me more calm and he can also pass it long too, i see nothing between them in terms of passing.

Well i rate AC higher but i am also not the coach.

Zouma needs to wise up and learn how to read the game. Someone in the coaching staff better grind him hard on tactics and movement because he is tactically naive for a top team's CB

You can't learn that. You either have it or not + he needs to work on far more significant things for a defender before reading a game. Playing with his feet pops out at first.

Oh ! Sorry !  I thought I'd put a smiley face after my original comment, which was meant "tongue-in-cheek", although you can't tell that with the emoticon omitted 🙂
