April 27, 201610 yr I wouldn't even have the cheek to demand those kind of wages. £50,000 ? i would be happy to be earning £5000. If i was a footballer and a club like Chelsea offered me £5000 a week to stay in shape, use some of the best training facilities in the world and play some football matches, i would be so happy. I wouldn't even dare say to them that i want £50,000. What Mata said the other day about youngsters is so true.

I have trouble thinking 2 months is enough time to do a 180.
May 7, 201610 yr Changed my mind on this one, he is fully justified in making outrageous demands as its the only way any of them can get noticed. Seeing the same players fail every single week knowing there is nothing they can do to get dropped already having pissed away the entire season is f**king maddening, Conte needs free reign to shatter the dressing room and do whatever the f**k he wants. Except stick with 4231.
May 7, 201610 yr Lad can barely cut it in the Eredivisie, one of Vitesse's worst players this season.
May 11, 201610 yr Lad can barely cut it in the Eredivisie, one of Vitesse's worst players this season. Second highest scorer for Vitesse in a team that the entire team has struggled to create and score. Issues within the club haven't but he definitely hasn't been one of VItesse's worst players.
May 11, 201610 yr Traore scored 12 and pretty sure he was never a striker before then. Edited May 11, 201610 yr by enigma
May 12, 201610 yr That is what happens when you give one unproven youngster a huge contract. Now everyone wants one.
July 12, 201610 yr Game ended with 3 Chelsea players in the front three. We are also well represented in the U21, they just don't make the step up to the Senior squad because we don't play them.
August 7, 20169 yr Anyone know whats happening with solanke? Is he going back to vitesse? Did he extend his contract?
August 8, 20169 yr Anyone know whats happening with solanke? Is he going back to vitesse? Did he extend his contract? Who knows but he was involved with England this summer... given his contract situation he's most likely biding his time before making a decision about his future. Given his supposed contract demands personally I'm indifferent as to whether he stays or goes this/next summer. Edited August 8, 20169 yr by the special one
August 11, 20169 yr Anyone know whats happening with solanke? Is he going back to vitesse? Did he extend his contract? Any more news on what's happening with Solanke? We have three similar aged English forwards - I wonder who the club see's as the most likely to make it (if any), Solanke, Brown or Abraham? I personally don't see Brown making it but hard to choose between Solanke & Abraham, but at least the latter looks to have got a good loan move this season.
August 26, 20169 yr Any more news on what's happening with Solanke? Apparently talks have been reopened (The Guardian)
September 1, 20169 yr Interesting he hasn't gone on loan... We might need him too. We don't have many strikers left.
September 1, 20169 yr Yeah, apparently contract talks reopened, so maybe he gets some minutes at the end of games (or as backup if/when Diego is suspended)? Not sure where he is in relation to RLC as second striker...
September 7, 20169 yr All still a bit quiet on Solanke and with Rashford now grabbing all the headlines and being the new English hope and Abraham doing well and getting good reviews out on loan, Solanke needs to start playing some football. Hope it is just media BS, but the reports his agent is demanding a £50k per week new deal won't help the lad. Just get your head down and improve and the money will follow all in good time.

October 23, 20169 yr Multiple news sources are suggesting that Solanke is about to sign a new contract.

The rumoured £50k demands was a tactic to get a massive pay rise. For instance if he and his agent goes demanding £30k, we prob would meet at around half that. Now with the rumoured demands from Solanke and our refusal, the meeting point will probably be around £25k-30k p/w which is a damn a lot of money for a player who has only recently turned 19 and barely featured for the first team and now I would say because of Abraham progress at Bristol City, is possibly further behind in pecking order. Any way he is a very bright talent so at least we have kept hold of him. Him and Abraham are the same age range so will be exciting to see the progress both can make.
October 25, 20169 yr Should we really be paying that much money to a player who has only played about 1 game for us? I would have thought Tammy is ahead of him now anyway.

When a 19 years old player asks for that cash something tells me he plays for the money.
