Barca's transfer ban is upheld, they can't make any signings for the whole of 2016.

Good job they were allowed to spend the best part of £200m this summer whilst they appealed.

Stinks.

Could be opportunity to take advantage of some of the brazilian players barca are reported to have first option on, like malcom and gabriel.

I'm still totally puzzled by Pardew going to Palace, things aren't that bad at Newcastle, are they?

He's a hate figure, regardless of what he does he'll never be liked by their fans.

It was the same when Allardyce was there, despite doing well results wise they didn't like him and they got their way and he was sacked... Relegation soon followed.

I don't think someone like Pullis is going to do any better and based on his recent paddies at Stoke and Palace over money I cant see him not falling out with Ashley.

Maybe relegation will follow again, that club is a joke

I wouldn't be surprised if money hasn't already exchanged hands for these sorts of players... Barca are a very powerful club and there is some rather sinister goings on there at times such as their blood doctors practice.

well that can't be right fc, theyre more than a club remember, all lovely and cuddly.

I'm not sure. I think they will have to conduct themselves better with regards transfers, they got in some trouble over the neymar transfer aswell. Also 3rd part ownership is banned from the end of this season, so I think it will make it harder for them to get away with some of he shady deals they have ben involved in.

With regards the blood doctor, im sure we used blood spinning a few years ago not sure if it's the same thing though.

You can't punish shelvey for that elbow and not sterling. Surely the F.A didn't review the footage and think the elbow was worse than the Sterling slap? If they did, it's ridiculous. There is a case to be made for the elbow, as i personally think he just did what a player usually does when trying to push back the opposing player, only that emre can went down like a sack of spuds to make it look worse.

The F.A. have never enforced stability once, they've literally ever only acted on what everyones talking about, they just make up rules as they go along.

No wonder Ferguson bullied the referees for so long, they let him get away with it that they couldn't risk going down that road again. Glad to see Mourinho can get away with it too, F.A. has only itself to blame.

In a nutshell Slawth.

I'm not a fan of either code of Rugby but Rugby Union sets an example for football: a set of clear rules that are enforced seemingly irrespective of bias; ref's whose word is respected. On the flip side, to be fair, Rugby players generally do not play-act.

Dr Bryan English was one of the first to introduce the technique to England to assist Arjen Robben in recovery. As long as it's used to help injured players recover faster and better, then WADA can get f**ked.

That's because you watch the English leagues. If you were to follow the higher levels of league or union in Australia you would see exactly the same tired arguments, inconsistencies and conspiracies recycled over and over again. Controversy sells, and that's why media fuels it.

Shelvey has been charged for his elbow but Sterling has got away with his punch/slap.

Ridiculous.

It just shows how stupid the F.A's laws are. They couldn't punish Sterling because the ref saw it and didn't think it was a red card. Apparently they could only punish Sterling in extreme circumstances. Basically they are protecting the linseman even though he failed to do his job properly.

If the linesman can't do his job properly it is up to the F.A to do it for him and ban Sterling for 3 games.

Looks like Pulis is joining west brom...what a bizarre choice...can't see what he can achieve there in the long run bar keeping the. Up year in year..just another palace

That's a shame. I really wanted the useless club to get relegated. Now it will never happen. Also Pulis deserves better in my opinion. I still can quite clearly see Anelka's face when he first arrived to their training 'centre'... that was priceless.

I think he'll suit their squad quite well; presumably Gareth McAuley will get back into the team and they have three combative midfielders in Mulumbu, Yacob and Gardner. This could even finally be the making of Anichebe! Either way I think Pulis is far more likely to keep them up than the far less capable and arguably even less stylish Tim Sherwood, who would almost certainly have taken them down in hilarious circumstances. I also think he is a better bet than Alan Irvine who persisted with players who were clearly out of form and really didn't get the best out of his squad.

That said I can't imagine he'll be there for long, Pulis likes to throw [relatively] silly money around on crap players and I can't imagine it will be long before him and the somewhat frugal Baggies board have a 'clash of ideals' on that front. Part of me was hoping they'd take a punt on José Riga (ex-Charlton/Blackpool), although the last time they appointed someone who left their last club bottom of the league (the perennially underwhelmed-looking Pepe Mel) it didn't end particularly well.

As mentioned in another thread, there should be a board to determine dives etc..... yet when you consider how a board can come to the decisions, in the same game, to ban Shelvey and not Sterling, it makes you wonder just how much of an improvement this board would be.  Theirdecisions often seem to be as biased/flawed as the refs decisions, just the ref doesnt have 4 days with every high tech gadget available to see the replay a million times from 20 different angles.  Atleast we would get a better idea of the FA's agenda instead of only the PMOG's

Has Lampard extended his contract with City yet?

Or is he sticking by his original contract and word to stay fit until January?

BBC just announced that Frank has extended his loan to City until the end of the season. Lot of folk here aren't going to be happy!

Pulis will join West Brom, Pardew will join Crystal Palace and then who manages Newcastle?

I read Steve McClaren is in the picture, as per usual :-)
