*Official* Pedro to Chelsea

Featured Replies

He's shown that he's lost none of his movement/finishing.

Maybe much of his apparent decline last season was due to not fitting into Conte's preferred 3-5-2 formation.

However, his legs are ageing - he has still put in 100% but against both Huddersfield/Arsenal he at times seemed peripheral when Chelsea couldn't give him the ball.

He was still running about like the Duracell bunny closing down Arsenal’s backline in the closing minutes of the match. His legs are fine.

No doubt about his commitment, but the guy is 31. He is at the age where you start to slow down and lose stamina.

He is certainly more influential than Willian atm and can score goals. I think this will be his best season with us so far. Age wise Ronaldo is 33 and 100 million euros. I can see Pedro maintain a decent form for at least 2 more years.

My long-standing opinion is that he is really inconsistent but can be excellent on a good day, like he was yesterday. Even on his bad days he’s a goal threat though so it’s always worth having him around.

When I opened this thread it automatically went to the last page I read (p46). It was interesting to be reminded of the bile being about him in May after his performance yesterday.

With good possession and players who could deliver those through balls, Pedro will always be a goal thread with his clear running and good shooting. I'm pretty sure he will retain his spot next week when Hazard starts.

He's a pure attacker, we really misused him under defensive managers like Jose and Conte, although in 16/17 we were a bit more attacking and we knew what he had, just didn't see enough due to the system.

Adding to that he presses well high up the pitch as well, just keep him up there and he'll be like a new signing. No more tracking back and wasting this guys talents!

I expect this player to have Ballack, Anelka or Makelele like career when he is done with Chelsea. He is such a character - just look at the first goal yesterday.

1) He worked out the ball quickly, sent it into the goal area, slipped, the ball went back to him in less than a second, he recovered and delivered another great ball in the same area. What a reaction.

2) Instead of hugging or jumping on Morata he friendly punched him in the shoulder

3) He left him going alone in front of the fans to celebrate his moment.

3 simple steps of showing class, masculinity and a true gentmenal code.

Great work to setup the first goal, and if not mistaken, he won the possession by chasing back and started and finished the move for the third goal. On a 'slow' day for many of our players, he added the much needed urgency in attack.

Just seems to have that natural instinct in front of goal that Willian and Moses lack.

I believe it has something to do with the mentality. Put aside the amazing goal that won the title. How many players nowadays will jump straight on the slipped away from the stewards fan with such a passion?

Pedro just has big balls.

He's really a system player, in that he fits Sarri's 4-3-3 much better than he does Conte's 3-5-2.

This is because he's really Chelsea's answer to Jose Callejon. Both are central to Sarri's high-pressing formation because they combine defensive energy and impressive movement. Willian is less active defensively than he once was and his movement has never been that impressive.

However, I consider Pedro a better player than Callejon because he is more adept with his weaker foot, is more agile and is a better finisher with better technique.

Without attacking Willian, Pedro just offers so much more on the right. Doesn't always have the best first touch but he creates many more questions by having a left foot.
