Alex Sandro

This transfer story sounds unbelievable - the fee being mooted (60 million pounds!), the player's status as a world class full back, Juventus being one of the strongest clubs in Europe.

Don't see it happening.

None of us know of course but it would be unusual for a club to pursue a player without some encouragement. That encouragement may be real, or it may be in furtherance of the player's own agenda, but it must exist, and the club must believe in it, for them to continue.

Where I do take issue with you, and please correct me if I've misinterpreted you, is your apparent implication that you know something the club's executives do not. We can agree, can't we, that they wouldn't maintain a chase for a player if they did not believe there to be a chance of success? If you and I can give each other credit for not being stupid, then surely we can apply the same assumption to the people handling this bid.

I know very little about it. Like I said I'm out of the loop on this. Some here seem to know Sandro wants to leave and Juve will sell him. I'm sure the latter is true, but for the right price. If the club are convinced he's worth the time and money and he'd leave Juve then great lets do it. I don't see any headway being made unless he pushes for a move, which I personally haven't seen or heard a thing about

When would we be in the loop about any of this?

I'm just answering your question. How do you, or anyone know Juve are open to selling?

Because, as I explained above, that is the way we have interpreted a reliably attributed statement of their club president.

On the other hand, your assertion that this transfer can't be possible because we're not in the loop, seems to rely on the improbable notion that we might ever be in the loop anyway. In fact you can be absolutely certain that I have never been in the loop with any CFC transfer, ever. How can you be sure of that? The same way I can be sure that you never have been either. There is nothing wrong with believing this deal is a non-starter. That's a perfectly legitimate and rational view to take based on experience. Loops have nothing to do with it, and just confuse the issue.

You're putting words in my mouth. You interpret it one way, I another. Actually I don't think interpretation is needed

On the left back situation. Any idea why Jonas Hector hasn't factored into our discussions? Had been excellent for Germany at Confed Cup and adds a bit of versatility in that he plays in midfield for Cologne.

I'm a bit concerned that we might end up with a pair of reserve left/right backs who don't play other positions.

Because he isnt any good and cant possibly play anything other then wingback for us.

I'm always sceptical of players moving on from a better club. Juve is two steps ahead us. He is a starter for them if I'm not mistaken.

good players have left juve before, and we're supposedly offering big money which could be too much to turn down. a few juve fans online aren't happy about it as he's difficult to replace, but they also recognise the money on the table is very tempting and hard to turn down.

Definitely.  Also the fee mooted is in excess of 60 million pounds.  I cannot see the Board sanctioning any deal exceeding the club's transfer record or even 40 million pounds for that matter.  The only exception to that rule that I can think of is a replacement striker for Costa.

A lottttt of Italian journalists are putting their reputation on the line saying this is imminent. I would be surprised if this didn't happen now.

especially Romeo Agresti who is uber reliable with Juve. The info he doesn't get on Juve can be written on a stamp

If every italian outlet said Sandro was coming and only Agresti said he wasn't, id believe Agresti 100%

They didn't look that far ahead the way they played in the CL final.

He gets to sample a new challenge in an attractive city, playing for another league Champion under a great coach. He'll be earning more too.
