The game has gone softer as the decades decline and by today's rules that was a cast iron red as was Mane's challenge today.
September 10, 20178 yr Forget the Mane red card, this was the real kiss of death for Liverpool's chances.
September 10, 20178 yr Ox probably felt he had not left Arsenal, different shirt, different team, same old thrashing against one of the bigger teams in the league.
September 10, 20178 yr Good win by Man City against Liverpool. Stoke are always a tough team to play home or away and Man Utd found that again yesterday.
September 10, 20178 yr Palace are the first team in Premier League history to lose all 4 games. They are also the only team in the Football League that have not yet scored. The writing's on the wall for De Boer I think.

Bremmer was probably owed that from a previous encounter and Bremmer would have known it was coming. If not mcCredie would know that there would be some retribution coming his way.
September 10, 20178 yr Rio Ferdinand bewildered by Mane red card - posts evidence that head high tackles were OK in his day: https://twitter.com/rioferdy5/status/906620383465558017 https://twitter.com/rioferdy5/status/906620533114097664 I remember the Joe Cole one was in the Moscow final in 2008. Don't remember the Malouda one. Someone also posted the Diaby kick to JT's face that was also not even a free kick (should have been a pen). Edited September 10, 20178 yr by Backbiter

Fake news from Sky Sports.
September 10, 20178 yr it's really about time sky sports found a way to broadcast all premier league fixtures. it's been so long since sky sports have been showing football, it's unbelievable they have no changed the platform. surely they could find a way to allow every fan to watch their team either on the main channel/s or via red button. i am fed up of trying to find a good stream at the weekends. it's just a gripe i have which i cannot for the life of me understand why sky can't fix.
September 10, 20178 yr I assumed it was more a call of the FA than Sky. My understanding is that the FA that believe if we can watch any Premier League game at 3pm in a boozer, then it would immediately result in the death of football outside the Prem and maybe Championship. It's their belief that Stockport County and the ilk would have literally nobody there on a Saturday afternoon. I wouldn't like to say if they're right or not. I share your frustration though. Defending Champions and 1 live game, and this weekend, shoved to the end of MOTD, no Radio5 commentary and they even interviewed the Leicester players and staff first! Most coverage we get is for anti Semitic chants.
September 10, 20178 yr I'm mystified by outcry over mane's red compared to Cahill's on opening day...the former ends up kicking a keeper in the face and said keeper has to be Carried off on a stretcher and doesn't return...apparently to many, including ex players, mane was unlucky... Cahill doesn't even make contact, albeit with a reckless tackle of his own, and everyone says he had to go..appears that refs aren't the only ones to be hopelessly inconsistent, although we at chelsea are used to double standards...after all, judging by Cahill's red, Spurs and Everton should have had a man sent off against us but their players just got a yellow for the same kind of offence

First team to lose first 4 whilst scoring 0. Which is no worse than bournemouths 1 goal 4 losses but doesn't have that juicy FIRST TEAM IN (premier league) HISTORY One of those weird stats people can just kinda play with to suit a narrative. edit: read its since 1924/25 so not even in history, its first in premier league history. We won sure but it still needed to be highlighted. The only one who called for it is the people in the gantry
September 10, 20178 yr I'm not overlly fussed about us not being televised much live, I just want MOTD to be completely revamped. It should go back to showing full highlights of all but the most dull of 0-0 draws, have proper analysis of every game not just the first game and if were lucky second! I also swear it didn't used to be on as late as it is now when I was younger? I know the news is always on at ten but its no wonder its so watered down being on so late.

As Snedger said it's a commercial rights issue, not a technical one. Believe every fixture is broadcast live globally in some capacity, in an age of things like the NFL/NBA Gamepass it seems inevitable that the PL will eventually have to adapt its domestic broadcast model.
