He's at one of the best clubs in Europe, being offered £100k a week while having a bad injury and he still hasn't committed. Very bad advice. If someone told me he would be plying his trade for Crystal Palace in 5 years time and his career never went further than that, I wouldn't be surprised. No guarentees in football and if your homegrown club offers you that contract, you take it. If he ends up leaving us next summer I think he could end up regretting turning down a new contract here. He seems to believe his own hype. Not necessarily a bad thing, but he needs to apply himself if he is going to reach the levels he already thinks he is at.

If he left without us giving him a shot I would have been furious as it would mean we didn't learn from last time, but if he doesn't sign a new contract on the back of 25 appearances last season (including one final which would have been two had he not been injured), likely getting the number 10 shirt, a club legend returning and two of his old youth coaches in the backroom staff I think it's safe to say he decided a very long time if not years ago that he was planning on leaving.

His father is called Bismark Odoi and he played in the Ghanaian league and his brother Bradley plays over here in the lower leagues. Both have a footballing pedigree but their view seems to be very short sighted. They don't seem to care about any ongoing relationship with Chelsea and just want Callum to get the highest possible salary. I suspect they are out for themselves and just want the biggest payday for themselves. Callum is only 18 years old and probably respects his fathers view but he needs to be careful. As you say he could very easily end up at somewhere like Palace or heaven forbid, Fulham, and miss out on a high level career. Every top class player has had a club where they cut their teeth at the higher level and if you go switching around you don't get to grow into a good team. He has been at Chelsea for a long time and it really does rankle that he would even consider going to a club like Bayern when his playing chances are probably not much better than they are here. With Frank and Jody now coming in and the transfer ban kicking in his chances of playing have increased significantly but he's injured. He might feel it's not his fault but it's not Chelsea's either and they need a replacement for Hazard. It's all falling into place for Callum he just needs to sign a contract, grow up and get fit.

Frank will make him a main stay in the team, injuries aside. I’d say the biggest obstacle for him playing in his natural position no longer being here, the diminutive Eden Hazard, is also a massive boost.

Bismark! f**king hell. No wonder they are interested in Bayern.
June 28, 20197 yr I read that CHO had all but signed a new contract a few weeks ago, but nothing seems to have materialized. Now the bayern rumours are picking up again. Really hope he commits, because i have this nagging feeling he is going to run his contract down, and take a big pay day somewhere.

Yeah, ironic that there's a report of a new bid when there are stories of him ready to sign an extension. Bayern using Sky to turn his head, No other reason to put that out there. Bayern are despicable.

June 28, 20197 yr In my opinion. This New bid is an attempt to unsettle Hudson-Odoi, since they are most likely aware that he is close to signing a New deal, to try and dissuade him from doing that, they are bidding again to show interest
June 28, 20197 yr Sky Sports were the ones who had CHO as a Bayern Munich player in January, so I'm calling bulIsh*t on these latest rumours.

Load of bollocks seeing as he'll get a higher salary staying in the Prem with Chelsea. Gnabry, Bayern's POTS is on £74k a week at age 23 for example. Chelsea have apparently been willing to offer him around £100k a week since the start. People need to stop the narrative that he's only moving for money. A player, for once, is actually wanting to do what is best for his career and what will further his development.
June 29, 20197 yr Under Lampard and with no Hazard and 2 ageing wingers who will most likely be gone in a years time.... Hes got more chance here than at Bayern... Edited June 29, 20197 yr by Chelsbear
June 29, 20197 yr Bayern were able to give him a great proposition in january which he wanted to take and therefore handed in a transfer-request to go there. At which point he had barely featured in the side at all under Sarri. He was then promised more time on the pitch but it still took months after january before he got any real chances in the league. I understand the temptation of Bayern when he was very likely promised plenty of chances in their side. I hope bringing in Lampard can change his mind though.
June 29, 20197 yr Why the hell should any Chelsea player choose bloody Bayern, instead of staying at the Bridge? He is a homegrown player, loves Chelsea, gets the shirt from Eden Hazard, will play as often as he can under Frank Lampard and could become one of our heroes. When Bayern offer 20 for such a gifted player, it´s a joke; for that huge amount of money you can buy the second goalie of an EPL club. He should sign a 5 year contract and start his comeback.
June 29, 20197 yr I don't know why does Bayern is chasing Odoi in first place when they have talented players who play on his spot

June 30, 20197 yr Bit of a cryptic tweet from Callum. Can't be arsed to post it now as I'm on my phone, but all it says is: "Loading" Edited June 30, 20197 yr by Old Shaggy

Read all of my post and you will see I didn't say he was only moving for the money. My main point is that he is getting bad advice. I'll go a step further and say his family aren't doing him any favours in the Public Relations field either. Fair enough you want to further your career and play as much as possible but the guy is injured and his chances of playing anywhere in the coming months have been dealt a serious blow. Isn't it time to show a little loyalty to the club who have nurtured his career up to this point. If he was fit I'm pretty sure he would be getting into the team. With Hazard gone the waves have parted for him to make his mark but he isn't fit. For me he is pushing too hard in the negotiations and should sign the best deal which is with Chelsea. From what I can see Bayern have lowered their offer to £25m from £35m so he's gone down in their estimation. No doubt this is because he is injured but I'm beginning to question the validity of these Bayern links. His fathers name is Bismark so he would already seem to have a connection with the Germans. (Joke)

The fact that they're pursuing him for consecutive windows shows how high up in their estimations he is.
July 1, 20197 yr I think Odoi should show some loyalty to the blues who have gave him first team place with 18 years and now with no Hazard in the team he will have a great chance to show if hi is for that place and rejecting contracts I would put him in the u18 and sitting in the bench warming chairs
